The Third Queen

Bliss

Warm rays of sunlight began to filter through the blinds, causing the sleeping Leia to stir within the warm bed she shared. Turning on her side, Leia nuzzled her face into the pillow. Only to be held by a pair of tan strong arms of none other than Kai who playfully nuzzled his face into the crook of her neck kissing it gently causing Leia to giggle with glee. Unable to control her fits of laughter Leia playfully pushed Kai off of her only earning a gentle pinning from him. As they goofy grin lay plastered to his lips. "well good morning to you too. " Leia greeted with a smile as a pair of warm lips pressed against her own. Causing Leia to become limp on contact, enjoying the sweet moment time and time again. Leia could never quite get use to it. But she didn't mind, for she would have plenty of time to become more acquainted to this new lifestyle. A life without war, without fear. As of late the only thing Leia worried about was making lunches for the children in time for school. It was a small task one that she was not use to but Leia enjoyed every bit of it.

Breaking their morning kiss, Kai gave Leia a gentle peck on the cheek. Greeting her like he always did. Since the night of the final battle in New York, Leia had hung up her sword and in exchange picked up the duty as a mother, and wife. To none other than Kai who couldn't get enough of his sweet wife. "morning Mrs. Miyagusku. Turning as red as a tomato Leia shyly slide from underneath her husband. Careful not to disturb the bundle of joy which lay sleeping soundly in a nearby crib.

Leaning over the edge of the crib, Leia couldn't help but to smile at her pride and joy. Sweet little Chise clad in a crimson and white onesie her aunt Saya had given to her. Stating that it would match the brilliant amber orbs Chise had been blessed with.  Eyes that seemed to bore into the very soul of those who gazed upon the child. In fact even Leia couldn't help but to agree. Her daughter's eyes were simply extraordinary. Sighing happily Leia gently caressed Chise's cheek causing to sleeping child to smile. Till this day Leia still couldn't believe that something so pure, so beautiful came from her.  But the moment Leia would look at Kai she immediately remembered the reason why. And it was all thanks to him.

Soon Leia felt the gentle reassuring hand of Kai on her shoulder. As the two gazed upon their daughter with an unbelievable sense of joy radiating from the new mother. "  She's so beautiful. " Leia whispered as Kai gave his wife a sweet peck on the cheek before answering his sweet queen. " She gets it from you. " He reassured her as his right hand brushed away the stray strands of raven from Leia's face. Immediately Leia's face turned bright red once more, unable to cease the immense love and devotion to Kai never faded. And she was happy for this, she loved Kai more than anything. To have the chance to experience a real life with him was something Leia had only once dreamed of. And somehow Kai had helped make that distant dream of hers into a reality.

Blessing Leia with a child, something she once believed was impossible. Still those memories we're as fresh to Leia as the new life she now enjoyed. But those not so distant days filled with pain and bloodshed still echoed through Leia like a never ending wave washing upon the gentle shores of Okinawa. Placing a hand to her chest Leia recalled the horrid nights that still brought tears to her eyes. Those horrid nights she held back her own horrified screams as the most heinous crime she believed existed was forced upon her.  Rape. And by none other than the filthy treacherous Chevalier called Amshel. It was those horrid nights that Leia was informed that she was a "Failed Queen " unable to birth children for the next line of Queens. But he was only half right. Leia in fact could have children and she did. Only one. But that one child was enough, and gave them the strength to survive in the once bleak world she lived in. And that strength would forever linger within her.

Shaking her head free of those dark thoughts of the past, Leia proclaimed that she would prepare Chise her morning bottle. Pointing out that it was already 8 am, and time to start the little ones breakfast. Sensing that Leia needed a moment, Kai agreed. Telling her that she would lay out Chise's clothes for the day which Leia greatly appreciated. He was always doing things like that, small favors in hopes that it would ease Leia into the suburban lifestyle. And his efforts we're already beginning to pay off.

Thanking him with a kiss on the for head Leia quickly dressed in a light grey maxi skirt, dark blue tank, with a matching dark blue shawl which Leia wore on her shoulders. Just in case she decided to venture out into the market which seemed to be something frequent for her. With  this Leia made her way down stairs into the kitchen of the home she now shared with Kai and Chise. The very same home that Kai, Saya and Riku were raised by their father. Who sadly passed away, it was something that even Kai was too shaken up to talk about. And Leia respected that.

Grabbing one of the many formula bottles Leia and Kai had bought in the past few months. Leia began to pour the correct amount of warm water and adding the powdery mixture into it. The smell always made Leia's stomach churn, and today was no different. Swallowing a dry heave Leia shook the bottle until the eggshell mixture had become equally distributed within the water. Testing it on her hand to make sure the formula wasn't too hot, Leia began to make her morning cup of tea. Steeping the floral tea bag and enjoying the gentle aroma which swept across the kitchen. Sitting down at the wooden table, Leia added a few sugar cubes to her tea all the while preparing tea for Kai as well.  As he had seemed to like her newly formed habit of tea drinking. Above her Leia could already hear the shuffling of Kai as he was surely putting on Chise's clothes while the small child tried to pull at his hair and face as she always did.

Soon the creaking footsteps of Kai made themselves known to Leia. As her husband shuffled down the stairs with a giggling Chise who's vibrant amber eyes seemed to come to life as they landed on Leia. Her tiny hands outstretched towards Leia in the effort to hold her. "someone wants her mommy. "Kai commented as he walked over to Leia, Chise's little hands still held out for her Leia. With a warm smile and bottle in hand Leia held onto Chise, kissing her tiny head all the while craddling the amber eyed child who seemed to immediately to calm down in her mother's arms. It was when Chise was with her father that Chise would show her unruly side.  Demanding her fathers attention like the little princess she was. It was endearing and quite cute but Leia knew they would soon have to break their daughter of the sour habit.
