Lost Queen

In a heavy mist which seemed to swallow the entire city. Blanketing it in unrelenting shadows,a single predator lay dormant. Awaiting it's chance to strike,though the killer allowed their eyes to remain visible. A vibrant violet hue which seemed to be brimming with power. And the urge to kill,but Kai was not afraid. He dared the killer to draw near. For he had been searching for her. Weeks of searching had finally paid off. Knowing those eyes,eyes that penetrated his very heart and threatened to leave him behind. Slowly the eyes drew near,stepping from the shadows revealing Leia herself. The Third Queen. Who's gaze seemed glued to Kai's. The two stood in silence neither one sure what would happen next. Kai then extended his hand for Leia begging her to return with him. Come back home. To Shield. Perhaps things could be worked out with them again. Kai did know Saya would be in no mood for forgiveness. But it didnt matter. He needed her. His beating heart. The reason he lived and breathed till this very day. And it was all thanks to her.

The silent Queen allowed Kai to wrap his strong arms around her,feeling the overwhelming sense to return with him. But she couldn't. "Come back,please."Kai choked out his voice cracking at the end. Gritting her teeth Leia released herself from Kai's embrace. Refusing to look her Chevalier in the eye. "There's no turning back now. The stage has been set Kai. And soon this battle will come to an end." Leia spoke her voice vacant of any emotion. It was so startling to Kai,for this wasn't his love. This wasn't his Leia. The Leia who would smile through her pain. The Leia that would stand her ground regardless to consequences. No this was another Leia. A Leia so detached from reality it was almost unnerving. Had being around Diva truly changed her so much?

Kai shook his head at Leia's empty words before shouting" The fight doesn't matter if your not with me,don't you get it? I love you Leia!" Kai shouted his words striking a cord deep within the monotone Queen. She gently placed a hand on her chest, listening her own cursed heartbeat. "I know,and I'm sorry you had to fall for someone like me.."Leia breathed before her eyes began to retain their haunting gleam. Kai knew what she was doing,she wished to frighten him. To force him onto Saya's side,and overall give up on her. But he refused. "It wasn't a mistake we met. And it wasn't a mistake I fell for you." Kai declared his voice filled with confidence as he dared to grab onto Leia's hand. She turned her gaze from her love,hoping he would be unable to see her tears.

But he knew she was crying. He felt it in his very soul. She was heartbroken,searching for her place in the world. But it wasn't necessary. She always had a place. And that was with Kai and she knew this,she only wished things could have been different. Perhaps in a time where she was a normal woman. In a time where Chiropterins did not exist. Maybe,maybe the two of them could have had a normal life together. But today was not that day. Choking back her sobs Leia spoke her voice due to her tears. "You can't still love me,I hurt Saya. I betrayed you! I left you!" She cried as Kai tugged Leia into his arms,nuzzling his face into her neck. Leia fought against the embrace,hitting at Kai's chest and demanding he release her. But Kai refused. He knew her. He felt her pain. Kai knew no matter how much she protested she didn't want him to leave. No it was quite the opposite. The more she fought and cried the more reassuring Kai was at what she felt.

"W-Why...?-"Leia choked out as she gripped onto Kai's shirt tightly as she struggled with her words. "W-Why..why don't you hate me?" She breathe her voice so soft and tiny almost that of a child. Kai gently caressed Leia's cheek immediately causing her vibrant eyes to lose their intimidating glow. "I could never hate you. You could hurt me over and over again but I will stand for you Leia. I swear it." Kai stated his words causing a single tear to cascade down Leia's cheek. She couldn't believe it. She simply could not fathom why? Why God had given her this man. Someone so loyal. Someone who didn't mind the harsh realities of their life. Someone who embraced everything Leia was.

Peering towards Kai,Leia allowed her tears to flow not caring that he saw her weakness. "I-I can't return with you,they would kill me." "I won't let them lay a hand on you." Kai combated as Leia smiled weakly towards her love. Shaking her head as she stepped into the shadows only to have another pair of crimson eyes appear behind her. The eyes belonged to the Chevalier Solomon Goldsmith,who had been watching the display of affection in silence. For Leia was now bound to Diva until the final battle and could not do anything against her. " She belongs with me and Diva now." Solomon stated with a smirk as he nochalantly ran his fingers through Leia's tresses. Gritting his teeth in anger Kai stepped forward. Already prepared to take down the Chevalier for touching what was his.

"He's right. I am...I am sorry Kai. But the next time we meet...we will be enemies." Leia stated her words shocking Kai as he had hoped and prayed those words would never leave her lips. How could she expect him to fight her? To harm her? Shaking his head Kai screamed an angry "No" into the air. Causing Solomon to smirk as he advised Leia that it was time to leave. Silently nodding Leia turned to disappear into the darkness only to have Kai say one last thing to her. " I could never hurt you....you'll have to kill me yourself." And with those painfilled words Leia disappeared from sight. Leaving an angry and torn Kai in her wake. But he couldn't he just couldn't. He couldn't hurt her,and in truth at this moment without her death seemed to be a luxury.

Gritting his teeth Kai swore it.he swore he would bring Leia back. Even if it killed him.
