The Beginning of the End

Leia remained silent as the black limp pulled up to a fairly large building. Hundreds of people already pouring into the mouth of the structure. Excited to hear the "Soprano of Miracles" live. But Leia knew better,for these unsuspecting humans this would be their death bed. Biting her bottom lip the somber Queen noticed a familiar face in the crowd. A face that immediately made her heart skip a beat. Holding back her excitement Leia struggled to smooth out the wrinkles in her gown,as the car soon came to a stop. Waiting patiently Leia allowed Nathan to open the door for her,her hand now in his. Helping her out of the vehicle,shyly Leia pushed a single strand of loose hair behind her ear. All the while Nathan examined her gown once more for any issues along with fixing her hair. But soon his eyes were brought to the source of Leia's attention. Her heart. Kai Miyagusku.

The young Chevalier stood his back facing his Queen,discussing affairs surely dealing with the final battle about to take place. A brief smile appeared on his face as her gently nudged Leia forward,causing her to almost trip over her own dress in embarrassment. "Talk to him,you will regret it if you do not." He mentioned causing Leia to sigh,she knew his words were true. Hoping to catch his attention Leia began to walk towards her love,her heels clicking with every step. Catching the attention of Saya,Haji,David and finally Kai.

Almost as if sensing her drawing near Kai turned quick on his heels to meet Leia's dull lavander orbs. Kai took a deep breathe not caring that Saya was nearby. Immediatly Kai's gaze lingered on Leia's gown causing her to shyly tug at her dress. She now wore a floor length black chiffon gown,boring long sleeved which are indeed sheer with rose like petaling in the design. Also there was a slit near the right side showing abit of sex appeal. It was true Leia was always a sight to behold,but now seeing her in such a way. Was simply eye opening to Kai leaving him nearly breathless at her regal form. Leia now ceased her walking standing a few feet from Kai and the others. Many patrons ready to see the deadly Diva couldn't help but to gaze at her imaculant appearence. Stunning all who dared to gaze upon her.

Biting her bottom lip Leia took a cautious step forward already feeling the crimson gaze of Saya boring into her. Piercing her like a thousands knives. She still didn't trust her,that was to be expected. After all Leia did infact betray her sister once again and to that she couldn't hold a grudge for her deep seated anger. Choosing to ignore the burning gaze of her elder sister Leia made eye contact with her beloved Chevalier. Her eyes as enticing as ever beckoning him to her side once more. Without any words Kai already knew what she wanted and he couldn't deny her. Nor did he intend to.

"I have to go." Kai informed greatly alarming Saya who immediatly grabbed her brother by the shoulder,pulling him back towards their group with great strain. Gritting her teeth Saya bravely stood before Kai,her eyes burning within his own seething with rage at his words and actions. "Are you kidding me?! We don't have time for this Kai! Diva is nearby and we can't afford to waste time with Her!" Saya roared spitting venom as she referred to Leia who uncomfortably tore her gaze from her love,not seeking any further confrontation. After all the final battle had yet to begin. With a heavy sigh Kai gently took Saya's hands off of him,his gaze unreadable to even Saya. She expected him to be angry,to fight back like he always did when it came to Leia. But he didn't. He merely reminded Saya of something dear to her heart,something she simply couldn't help but to respect.

"If the roles were reversed,would you stop Saya? Wouldn't you want to be with Haji?" Kai spoke his words leaving Saya speechless,because even she knew he was right. Regretfully Saya swallowed her pride stepping back with Haji and the others. But not before saying one final thing. "Don't let your emotions get in the way,you'll only end of at the wrong end of a blade." With those words Saya took her leave along with David. Yet Haji lingered for a few moments silently nodding to Kai,reassuring him he would deal with Saya and her attitude. "We don't have alot of time,make it quick."Haji informed before rushing after Saya. Haji didn't need to remind Kai,he knew what the plan was and how important it was. But Leia,his Queen,his love was just as important. No even more.

Shaking off the sense of dread he felt the moment they entered the wretched Opera House;Kai cut the distance between himself and Leia. His hands reaching out to clasp her small hands into his own. She was cold alarmingly cold which greatly concerned the young Chevalier. "Your cold."Kai whispered as he tugged the fragile Leia into his arms,who instinctively nuzzled her face into his warm chest. For even she was charmed by how handsome Kai had become.

His hair was now combed back Abit adding a more mature and classy appearence. Showing all what a true gentleman he indeed was. While wearing a very nice tuxedo to blend in with the other patrons. Leia took a deep breathe inhaling his sweet aroma as she gripped onto her love tightly. Fearful of ever letting go ever again. "I know,I'm sorry. I haven't been taking care of myself as I should." Leia answered her words true as Kai gently tilted her chin upwards to look his love in the eye. It was obvious,her skin was deathly pale,along with bags under her eyes. Revealing to him that she infact had not been sleeping well.

Cursing under his breath Kai wrapped his arms around Leia's waist not caring that the penetrating eyes of Diva's Chevalier we're upon them. They did not matter to him. Only Leia. "No,I'm sorry...I should have stayed. Maybe...maybe all of this could have been avoided. Your pain...my pain..." Kai began causing Leia to gently press her finger against his lips silencing him and his soon to be oncoming tears. "It's alright,none of this is your fault. It's mine,and my race...nothing has ever been your fault."Leia cooed as Kai struggled to maintain himself as tears threatened to show themselves. "I'm your protector,your Chevalier and I keep failing you. How is none of this my fault?! This final battle....Saya has gone off the rail. She wants to kill Diva and you!" Kai screamed as Leia released a quiet sigh knowing all too well what Saya had intended. But it did not scare her. Saya could never kill her,in the past Saya would always come up short on the wrong end of blade. And tonight would be no different. It would be Leia who would end it all. Not Saya. There had been far too many deaths that the "Three Queens" had caused and Say was no acception.

"I will not die by her hand tonight,I swear to you. This is a battle between us Queens. You and the other Chevalier are merely observers. Nothing more. Once the stage is set you cannot step in the battle or you will be cut down. Do you understand?" Leia stated her voice firm yet gentle when speaking to her warm-hearted Chevalier. Cupping his face in her tiny hands Leia allowed her eyes to take their vibrant violet glow revealing to Kai that she was indeed serious. "Swear to me you will not interfere,I can't imagine what I would do if you we're harmed. Please Kai,don't be stubborn. Obey me this once. Let me handle this." Leia beckoned as Kai tore his gaze from Leia's struggling with his own emotions. How could she ask such a thing from him? How could he not protect her? Isn't that what he was suppose to do? Wasn't that the job of a Chevalier?

"You can't ask that from me." "I know,that is why I am ordering you." Leia stated as she planted a gentle kiss on Kai's cheek. "For your sake,mine,and our child. You must not interfere." Leia spoke her words ringing loud and clear for the young man. She was right. Despite every fiber of his being demanding him to fight back. He couldn't,this was infact bigger than all of them. And their child. He had to be there for the child. For the soon to be born Queen and Leia as well. To top it off even Kai knew that trying to take on two Queens was a bad idea. He knew Leia was quite capable but capable enough to protect him and win the battle at the same time. It was merely a choice. A choice that would stay with him forever. Obey his Queen. Or die by the hands of another.

"... I understand."Kai whispered as Leia smiled mournfully towards him as she pulled the tall man down towards her their lips mere inches from one another. "Thank you,for understanding. And thank you-"Leia began as she gently pressed her lips upon Kai's giving him and herself the possible final kiss they would ever share. Pulling away from his lips Leia finished her sentence a single tear escaping her eye. "For loving me." With those words Leia hesitantly stepped away from Kai,their fingers intertwined with one another before being separated by their own fates. Smiling weakly towards her love,Leia turned away and returned to Nathan and the others who quietly mocked her for her weakness. But she did not care.

All the while holding her sleeping child,Nathan simply nodded towards Leia. Aware of the contract the two had struck and silently swearing that he would keep his promise to her no matter what. But Leia was not worried about her fate nor of the fate of her child. She had to deal with the problem at hand,and that was her sister's. One or more of them had to die and there was no way around it. And overall her choices would create a world better for all and hopeful her child.
