The Third Queen

Unexpected Slumber

After returning from the check up with Julia, Kai carried his now slumbering wife to their room. Placing her in the gentle embrace of the warm blankets, Kai gave her a quick peck on the forehead.  All the while intending to prepare things for their night together, but something seemed to always stop Kai in his tracks. What was it? Tenderly Kai caressed Leia's cheek, a small smile forming on his lips at the small act of love. He loved her and it seemed to increase each and everyday that passed for the two. Taking Leia's hand in his own and missing it, Kai held her dainty hand in his larger ones. Silently praying to God that they would be given just a little while longer. Ideally Kai would wish to have Leia by his side fore ever. 50 year sleep be damned. She deserved so much more. In Kai's eyes Leia deserved the earth, moon, stars no maybe even something far beyond anything he could ever give her. His Queen.

Someone that has seen more blood and torment than any other person deserved to see. Leia deserved a true life. A life without pain and suffering. A new life filled with smiles and laughter.Laughter that would not only belong to them but their child as well. Happiness should be the only thing in Leia's future. And sadly Kai wasn't too sure how much longer he had with his sweet love. But he fully intended to make it a night to remember. Reluctantly releasing Leia's hand Kai returned to the bathroom where he began to start a warm bath for Leia. Adding some stress relief oils given to him by Julia. Explaining that it should help with her sore muscles and sleep depravity.

The smell of the oil reminded Kai of peppermint plants as the water seemed to become a light moss green color. And filled the air with it's minty scent which Kai hoped Leia liked. With the warm bath prepared Kai made his way back to the bedroom where his love slept. Leaning over her shoulder Kai gently shook the slumbering queen. Waiting for those bright violet orbs to welcome him, but they did not. Panic immediately settled within Kai as he pulled Leia into his arms, shaking her. Calling her name so loud he could swear the entire city could hear his cries. But Kai didn't care for no matter how much Kai tried Leia simply wouldn't awaken. It was then Kai realized that the color had seemed to almost completely drain from Leia's cheeks. Giving her the appearance of a fragile porcelain doll. Touching her face and hands he also realized Leia was alarmingly cold, and almost rigid to the touch. Holding back his own tears Kai began to rock Leia slowly in his arms. Pleading with her to open her eyes and to just look at him one last time.

With his heart pounding loudly in his chest Kai leaned over Leia's sleeping form. His large hands cupping her face all the while his hands trembled in fear. Afraid of what was before him and knocking at the very door. Reality. The reality that everything that was good in his life was now being snatched away from him in one night. With his tears threatening to overpower him Kai's grip on Leia tightened as he whispered her name one more time. Praying to God that she heard him. All the while almost as if she had indeed heard him call her name, Leia began to stir.

Her once pale features began to retain their natural hue, while Leia herself struggled to fight the impending slumber. With the darkness and silence of the long sleep looming over her, beckoning her to come. It was the voice of someone she loved. Her light that seemed to force the darkness at bay, giving her the strength to open her eyes. It was then that Leia reached her hand out placing it on Kai's head which startled him. He immediately peered up to meet those lavender eyes he fell for so long ago.

Overcome with emotion Kai gripped onto Leia tightly sobbing in her arms which greatly saddened Leia. There was nothing she could do but console her love with her sweet voice. "I thought I lost you. "Kai breathed as Leia kissed his lips sweetly whispering "You almost did. "Her words true yet heartbreaking for the two. Holding her love Leia spoke her body still a bit sluggish due to the deep sleep approaching. "This could be our final night together,and i want to make this a moment we will never forget." Leia began catching Kai's attention as she gently caressed his tan cheek smiling warmly towards him. "Make love to me,Kai."
