Julie's p.o.v.

Blake was caught the same day that I went to the hospital. My dad called me right after I identified him. Apparently Officer Matthews is my honorary uncle from when I was younger, so my dad knew when he was brought in. It's a shame that I didn't recognize, but in my defense, I haven't seen him, in like, 15 years.

I've been staying with Kadan and Andy for the past three days. They're driving me absolutely crazy. They keep fussing over me. I mean, I'm still sore, but I can do things for myself. They've tried to follow me into the bathroom, not happening. I've got an apartment set up for me to move into, but they don't know that yet. My dad had Officer Matthews and some of his buddies put all the furniture he bought for me in the house. I can't wait to see him in person, so I can properly thank him with a huge hug and a kiss, or two, on the cheek. We all three are supposed to be leaving in about four days to go back home until the day after Christmas.

The door opens, and the guys walk in. They were out helping some new guy move in to my old room. I hope he has a better experience than I did. His name is Steven Anderson. I don't know why, but that name sounds so familiar.

"Hey, guys."

"Hey, Jewels."

"Hey."

I'm fixing to tell them that I'm not going to be staying with them any longer. I wonder how they're going to take it.

"I have some news for y'all."

"Good or bad," Andy asks.

"It depends on how you look at the situation."

Here goes. "I'm moving out. You guys are killing me. I have an apartment that's ready for me to move into."

They look sad. "When do you move in, Ju-Ju bear?"

"Tonight."

"Tonight? Jewels, are you sure? It's so soon."

"Yes, tonight. I'll be fine. I promise. I'll call you guys if I have any problems."

"Can you at least stay for pizza," Kadan asks. He looks like he might cry. So does Andy. It's almost enough to make me stay. Almost. "Yes, I can stay." They look relieved. They really don't want me to leave. It's so sweet.

After pizza, they help me load my car with my stuff. It's emotional. I'm only going to be a few blocks away, but it's still hard. I've been close to them since the school year started. It's going to be hard knowing that I can't just walk down the hall anymore.

"I'm going to miss having you around all the time. Don't hesitate to call me. I'll be there faster than you can blink. I love you, Ju-Ju bear."

"I love you too, Andy." He kisses me on the cheek and I do the same to him.

"Same thing goes for me, Jewels. I love you."

"I love you too, Kadan." I kiss him on his cheek. He looks like he wants to kiss me on the lips, but then changes his mind. He kisses my cheek. I'm slightly relieved and disappointed at the same time.

They step away from my car, and I climb in. After a final wave, I back out of the spot and start driving towards the apartment complex.

I pull up to the complex, and see my neighbor, Ally, sitting on the shared porch. She waves, and I wave back. She starts walking towards me as I'm getting out of the car. "Want some help, neighbor?"

I nod. "Sure."

"Where are you moving from?"

"Campus. I've been staying with friends, in their dorm, because I was attacked in mine. They're guys, and they've been driving me absolutely crazy these past few days."
