Ty's P.O.V
Remi who is not only emotionally but also physically exhausted, without meaning to falls asleep in my lap. Her arms still locked in a tight grip around my shoulders and every time she exhales, her breath tickles against the nape of my neck. Standing up slowly, taking care not to wake her up, I secure her long legs around my waist, firmly holding on to the bottom of her thighs as I carry her back towards our camp. When I get there, I am somewhat surprised to see that the others are all still awake and having a serious conversation around the dwindling fire. The talking immediately ceases when they see me and the motionless form of Remi cradled in my arms.
As he sees that we're both unharmed, Jase lets out a sigh of relief. "Ty where have you been man? Everyone was really worried about you. And Remi, Is she okay?"
"I'm sorry," I say feeling guilty, "I had to let off some steam and didn't want to make a fuss here. And Remi's alright, she's just fallen asleep."
"Okay, while I'm glad to hear that you're alright, please just let us know where you're going next time Ty. We can't afford to lose anyone else. Not now." Adds Logan somberly.
Shifting Remi around in my arms to get more comfortable and looking over at him, the severity of what potentially could have happened hits me, "Guys I'm really sorry. I know it's no excuse but I wasn't thinking straight and it won't happen again." I say quietly, the sincerity in my voice clear for all to hear.
Olivia smiles gently at me, "Were you at least able to make amends with Remi?"
Paling instantly at her words, not wanting to accidentally set me off again, Jase jerkily motions for her to be quiet, "I'm sorry they don't-"
"It's okay man," Laughing softly, I look contentedly down at the sleeping Remi, "We're working on it."
The worry sliding off his face, Jase suddenly looks as proud as punch, "Aww my little bro is growing up!" He coos happily.
All it takes is one blank look from me and Logan leans over smacking him upside the head with a laugh. Jase pouts but doesn't retaliate instead saying, "Alright everyone, now that we're all here, we should probably try get some sleep. It's already one in the morning and I know a bunch of you guys are cranky when you don't get your much needed beauty sleep."
Ending the night with a laugh at Jase's statement, we all agree that it's time to go to bed getting up and settling down for the next few hours. Before joining us, Logan quickly heads down to the lake to scoop up some water in a container and extinguishes the last remaining embers of the fire. Yet to pick where to sleep, I carefully lean forward and lay Remi gently down on the ground in a small hollow. Grabbing a blanket I bunker down next to her, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close. From the moment my head touches the ground, sleep quickly follows and I don't wake up till the sun is shining high in the sky the next day.
End of Ty's P.O.V
In what seems to be becoming the norm, once again I wake up caged inbetween Ty's arms. Seeing as the last thing I remember is spilling one of my greatest worries out on the flat rock, it seems as though he must have carried me back to camp last night once I fell asleep. Propping myself up onto my elbows, I look around to see who else is already up and am met with Jase's grinning face.
"Morning," I call quietly trying not to wake Ty up.
"Morning Remi," He laughs back winking at me, "Had a bit of a late night yesterday did ya?"
My faces flushes at his insinuation before I smirk, "Nah not really, I actually fell asleep pretty quickly, cause you know, gotta get those eight hours plus sleep right?"
