Jase's P.O.V (Continued)

"Alright, alright, alright... You've all had yer wee giggle at my expense now. But are you guys planning to st -stop laughing at me?" I struggle to contain my own laughter at their hysterics.

Because every time someone manages to gain a semblance of control over themselves, someone else bursts out in a fresh peal of laughter, setting everyone off again in a chain reaction.

"It-t's just, y-yo-you- heyyy Matthew Mcconaughey... Oooh that rhymed..." Sam trails off, lost to another bought of laughter.

"Oi, oi! Guyyyyys! Wait I said it back to front... Nevermind... Anyways does anyone else feel like there's something important we're not remembering?" I stare at Olivia who asked the question, in wonder.

Because there's something pushed back deep in the back of my brain that seems to be wanting to come out, but I just can't seem to put a finger on what it is. "Hehe put a finger on it... That's such a weird combo of words... Right? Or is that just me?" I ponder, scratching an itch on my face. "Okay just me. That's cool. But what I would like to know is..." I pause for dramatic effect, "Where aaaaare we?"

End of Jase's POV

Lee's P.O.V

"The underground reservoirs." says Wyatt, slamming a hand down on the table with a loud crack making me jump from the unexpected noise. "That's where we'll set up our base seeing as Pike has eyes and ears everywhere above ground. Our original plan of occupying the old base won't work because we'd never stand a chance at taking him by surprise, but if we attack him from directly below his feet he'll never see it coming."

While the plan sounds pretty solid to my inexperienced self, the others on the team don't quite share my faith. "But how are we supposed to land anywhere in Rio? If Pike has the control you say he does then won't he know we've arrived the instant we touch down? The element of surprise will be gone then anyway won't it?" Asks Elijah bluntly.

"Ah my boy. I don't know if I should be offended by your lack of faith in me or not." Wyatt retorts wryly. "But to answer your question Eli, tunnels."

"Tunnels?"

"Yes. Not many people know this, but there are actually a series of interlinked tunnels under the entire city of Rio. They were originally built to deal with city's flooding problems during the tropical monsoon season and at the same time, during the dry season the underground reservoirs are crucial for the cities water supply. However these tunnels were," He pauses, thinking of how to word it correctly. "They were exploited by mercenaries, drug dealers and to be honest anyone with enough money and the interest of having unmonitored secret entrances and exits to the city. They turned the ground under Rio into a maze of illegal activity - Well not that above ground is much better come to think of it."

When Wyatt stops talking and stares off into the distance thoughtfully, Eli who seems to still not be completely satisfied with his answer, probes even further with a look of confusion etched across his face, "But Wyatt you still hasn't really answered my question?"

"Oh right, sorry." Wyatt clears his throat before continuing, "Anyway the old tunnels were only under the centre of the city and leading down to the marina, but the 'new' tunnels spread all the way to the outskirts of the city - And by new I still mean very old but you get the point. Plus now that one of my contacts in Rio has been kind enough to reveal the location to one of the tunnel entrances leading to the city, that is where we will be headed off to within the next roughly give or take twelve to fourteen hours. Oh and another fun fact, do not go wandering off on your own in the tunnels. Some of the tunnels closer to the sea have a type bacteria growing in them that produce higher levels of nitrous oxide, which you non scientists may better know as laughing gas. Now in small quantities this is not an issue but lengthy exposure can be actually be fatal... "
