Lee's P.O.V
Apparently soundproof headphones can do wonders for your sleep. When I open my eyes again there's a commotion going on around me, bustling about like bees in a hive, everyone on board the plane seems to be up and about doing whatever it is that they've been tasked to do. At first this confuses me as I am certain that before I closed my eyes, we had been given strict instructions to stay in our seats even after the plane had taken off.
But when my gaze drifts to the now empty seat that Jack had been previously occupying, the last shreds of sleep winding around me disappear. Because while I can't hear the difference, as my ear pods are still firmly stuck in my ears, it seems as though we have already arrived at our destination and that I have somehow managed to sleep through the entire flight.
As I sit there contemplating whether I should get up, or rather wait until someone notices that I'm awake and fills me in instead; The decision is quickly made for me as Jack ducks back into the plane immediately spotting that I am now awake.
"Lee! My man! You're up! Finally..." To my amusement, a hyped up Jack bounces up and down in front of me like an over excited puppy.
"Hey Jack, have we been here long?" I mumble as I finish unbuckling myself from my seat and stand up to stretch out my stiff limbs.
Without pausing in his excessively energetic movements, Jack nods eagerly at my question, "Yeah! You were really out of it man! Like I'm pretty sure that we've been here for probably almost two hours already?" However when I stare at him in disbelief, he just shrugs, "Hey don't look at me like that, I tried to wake you up when we landed... So anyway we've all been unloading the supplies off the plane and setting up in the cavern-"
"Cavern?" I interrupt his tirade.
Jack tilts his head at me as if puzzled, "Yeah... Cavern? What about it?"
"What do you mean setting up in a cavern? Where are we?"
"Ohhh, I gotcha now Lee. So while you were still asleep, we landed on this tiny little airstrip in the hills somewhere close to Rio. Then the moment we touch down, this hidden slider opens up in front of us in the cliff face and reveals this place here -the cavern."
I realise I have absolutely no idea what day or even what time it is right now. A glance down at my watch doesn't help as it is still set for the timezone we had just left which I am sure is no longer applicable here. Jack apparently sees my dilemma as he lifts his own wrist and tilts it in my direction, "Hm, six o'clock... That's earlier than I would have guessed," I muse.
"Get used to the darkness mate, we won't be heading above ground for the next few days at least."
That makes me glance back up at him in surprise, "Why not? I thought we had a plan to get the others out as quickly as possible?"
However before Jack has the chance to reply, the voice of Wyatt floats in through the doorway mere seconds before I see him enter, "Ahh, you're right my boy. Time is of the essence here, however we have to be on the down low for a day or two just to make sure that there's no sign of Pike knowing that we're here, otherwise the element of surprise will be lost."
As his explanation makes sense, I don't try to protest even though I just want to get out there now and go find my friends. After nodding to convey my understanding, Wyatt seems satisfied and excuses himself to move deeper into plane to retrieve whatever it is that he had come here for.
Having obviously been dismissed, Jack then motions for me to follow him down the ramp and into the afore mentioned cavernous area that is to be our home for the next few days. The first thing that hits me is the sheer size of the space that we're in. At least the size of an entire rugby field, bright floodlights illuminate area in a bright white glow.
