Then, just as I think we're all done for, I could cry with relief when two sets of firm hands enclose around my ankles, halting my movement forward. This leaves me half dangling over the edge, with my arm feeling like it's about to be ripped from its socket under the combined weight of both the boys. But I'll take the added weight any day as I am so thankful to see Sam's hand that I am currently not holding onto locked around Logan's forearm in a vice-like grip.

With my spare hand I reach for Sam's arm as well so that I have a better hold and also to help distribute the weight. Meanwhile I am slowly but surely being pulled back up the side of the cliff, inch by inch as my stomach slides across the slick green layer of algae. Once my whole body is finally back on safe rock, Jase and Ty drop my feet and grab Sam's arm instead to pull him up higher. Olivia grabs onto his torso, while I grab onto Logan's arm and it doesn't take long for the four of us to pull the two boys back to safety.

The moment everyone is back on solid ground and a safe distance away from the edge, Ty immediately checks Logan, Sam and I for injuries, going into full doctor mode. But thankfully to everyone's reassurance, apart from a few scrapes and some bruising that's definitely going to show up later, no one has been seriously injured.

Mulling over everything that had happened in the last couple of minutes, I watch as Ty stands in front of me and places his hands on my shoulders, "You really don't think before you act, do you?" He whispers to me teasingly.

But I'm not in the mood for teasing and instead just shrug and pull away from him, "Apparently not."

So leaving Ty staring after me in confusion, I walk over to Logan and sit down cross legged next to him. Studying his profile, from the looks of it, I think that the severity of the situation only really hit him properly after he was pulled back up onto the ledge. Because as soon as Ty had finished checking up on him, Logan had immediately sat down on the ground and has just been staring blankly out into the distance ever since. Waving my hand in front of his face, I become concerned when he doesn't react or even blink, but I can see that his entire body is shaking like a leaf.

"Ty." I call, "I think Logan's gone into shock."

Ty only has to take one glance over at Logan before he's instantly jumping to his feet, kneeling down next to him, and again checks Logan's pulse, breathing rate and reactions.

"You're right," he confirms, nodding at me.

Shrugging off his jacket he places it gently around Logan's shoulders and then begins softly talking to him, trying to get him to answer simple questions. Looking back down at Logan's hands I don't like the way they are trembling and the fact that he looks as white as a sheet. My brow furrows even further when I see Ty and Jase having an unspoken conversation with their eyes. Obviously understanding what Ty is saying, Jase nods and gets up and then together Jase and Ty lift Logan to his feet.

"We're taking Logan back to the canoes. He needs some time to rest. You guys stay here a little longer and then one of us will come get you okay?" Says Jase.

Sam, Liv and I look at each other and nod unanimously, "Sure take as long as you need," Olivia replies and with that, the three boys disappear into the trees.

While not purposely trying to make me feel uncomfortable, the couple beside to me decide to start cuddling and saying all sorts of cutesy things to each other. Not wanting to third wheel, I make my way over to the edge of the cliff, sitting down and dangling my legs over the side. From my new vantage point, I realise then, that if we had gone over the edge in our canoes, we would have most likely been smashed straight into the rocks below. A cold and unwelcome shiver runs down my spine when I imagine what could have happened.
