Part 22

*Shennika's POV*

We stayed quiet watching Kelli walk in with a bouquet of flowers in hand, she smiled innocently and lay them down on Billy's bedside table.

"Billy t-these are for you" she said moving the flowers closer to him. He glanced at me then nodded at Kelli, "thank you…?"

She smiled lightly looking down then sat on the chair by his bedside "Billy, I haven't been able to stop thinking about what happened, its made me realise I don't know who I am anymore."

"What! Is she for real!?" my mind spoke. I took a few steps back to lean against the wall. I felt really out of place, should I leave? it does look like a private moment but then...who would wanna miss Kelli's confessions.

Billy breathed out hard flaring his nostrils avoiding Kelli's eye. She leaned forward and gently rested on his bed looking up at him with shiny eyes "Billy I-This is not me! I'm not like this!" she said with power, "You're my best friend and ever since I met you...all I've ever wanted was your affection."

Billy looked briefly at me seeing my eyes widen. Wow this girl was good, I'm actually considering to feel sorry for her. I pointed to the door suggesting silently if I should leave but he shook his head.

He looked at Kelli who wore a sad face, "Kelli, I don't understand, we talked about us just being friends and you know why it has to be that way" he softened his eyes at her.

Her eyes watered showing that she was hurting by what he was saying "but Billy, I know we've talked about it but I don't get why you won't let me in," she closed her eyes frowning, "you know how I feel about you, you go on about how understanding you are and how you feel neglected in love, yet you still push me out all the time!"

I started thinking of the song Wreaking ball by Miley Cyrus- I put you high up in the sky and now your not coming down, it slowly turned you let me burn and now we're ashes on the ground... I will always want you...I came in like a wreaking ball, I never hit so hard in love! all I wanted was to break your walls, but all you ever did was wre-ak-k me.. Did the song represent them?

Out of all of this, I kind of understand. I looked up seeing him narrow his eyes at Kelly in thought "Kelli I don't push you out, I didn't even know you felt that way. Yeah you told me you liked me..." Kelli stared down at his bed cover and breathed deeply not looking at his eyes.

"Listen, I care about you and didn't want to hurt you, I'm sorry if you felt I neglected you but what kind of person would I be if I was in a relationship with someone I didn't feel the same way about, you're my close friend Kelli and we have fun, I never wanted to hurt you."

Kelli breathed out bursting into tears, "b-billy it hurts so much" she managed to say before sobbing into his bed sheets. He looked at her frowning, I could tell he didn't know what to do because he hesitated before stroking her hair.

I never met to start a war, I just wanted you to let me in,

and instead of using force, I guess I should have let you in....

What was I still doing here! for some reason he didn't want me to leave, but wasn't it awkward me being here? I scratched the back of my neck looking away from them slightly then quietly walked to the door.

"Shennika don't" I heard Billy say after me. Being a few paces from the door, I turned and looked back at him. Kelli rose up stopping crying and looked at me then back at him, "ok you basically only like me as a friend right?" he slowly nodded not wanting to set her off crying again.

She sighed keeping hold of herself, "ok then who do you love?" he looked at her hard eyes hesitating to answer. The only thing I could think of was please don't let it be me. I didn't want to complicated things between them or with Ross. No more heartache for today. No one else must get hurt by this- I feel for Kelli but with what happened last time, who knows what she could be capable of if pushed to the edge again.

She snapped her eyes at my worried expression then looked back at Billy "ok let me change the question, do you love her!?" she pointed to me but kept her look on Billy.

"Kelli, I don't see the point in all this, who I do or don't have feelings for is nothing to do with you!" Billy said in an annoyed voice.

"ARHH!!" Kelli flicked her hair at him and was about to walk out but she stopped. She held her face in her hands then slowly turned back to look at his serious face, "I'm sorry, look can we just forget it, I'm tired of-"

"I'm tired too Kelli" Billy said narrowing his eyes. Kelli moved quick and took his hand and held it with both hands "ok then good, lets just forget it yeah" she said in a rush looking at him intensively.

I folded my arms "you are not serious" she looked back at me forgetting I was there then glanced at Billy with wide eyes, "you can't just come in here without an apologise or explanation to why you tampered with the bikes!!" I shouted frustrated echoing the room.

Kelli stayed quiet watching me, I smirked "oh what happened to your nerve Kelli? did it die over night?! you thought coming in here with flowers would make up for what you did!!" I shouted the last bit feeling tears prick at my eyes.

She took a step back looking at Billy but he just kept his eyes on me, "I know flowers can't make up for it but a least I'm trying" Kelli simply said not meeting my eye.

Oh that done it! I felt anger burn my stomach and my hands shake "at least your trying?!" I bit my lip holding back the angry tears that wanted to come out, "WHERE THE HELL were you when I ran after them and stayed with them in the back of an ambulance!!!"

Billy gasped and looked at me with wide eyes. I kept my stare on Kelli "Where were you when Billy needed medical attention and his 'best friend'!!" I felt myself shake and my palms clam, "but then it was his best friend that put him here, the same best friend that said he was dead to her not even caring that he could have been killed!!"

"Shennika you were there? in the ambulance van with me" Billy said with a shocked voice obviously not knowing I was there through it all. I nodded at him returning his look, his soft eyes lit up.

"yeah, I ran so fast shouting after you and Ross fearing the worst just after Kelli told me what she did. Then hearing that engine explode... my heart stopped. Billy I've never been more relieved then being in that ambulance van hearing your heart monitors beep and seeing you both ok."

I looked back at Kelli who was fiddling with her hair, "Just shut up Shennika!! Don't act like the innocent one in all this, you know you drove me to it, you're here now playing him like you play Ross!"

"No Kelli, you need to shut up and stop blaming me! I'm sick of you- of this! I don't get who you're trying to hurt! makes no sense, you hurt Billy but you say you love him, you say he hurts you but you're the one that's hurting yourself!"

Before Kelli could speak I cut her off and looked at Billy who looked just as annoyed as I did, "I'm gunna go now, get well soon yeah" he smiled and nodded at me.

I walked to the door and held it open, from behind me I heard him shuffle on his bed "and you can go as well" he said in a blunt tone to Kelli. I smiled and continued walking.
