Part 31

*Shanell's POV*

What have I walked into!? I ran my fingers through my hair and held my cheeks looking back and forth through the mess. My eyes darted down the hallway seeing a slit of light in the end bathroom from where the door was partly open.

"Mum? Shennika? Guys? Where is everyone!?" I whispered harshly walking slowly over to the bathroom furtherest down the hall. I held my breath and pushed open the door then let out a breath of relief seeing it wasn't a monster.

I quickly rushed over to Shennika who was sitting up rubbing her eyes, "what are you doing on the floor?" I asked her as she looked around the room just as confused as I was. She turned to me then looked past my ear to the door, "not entirely sure, trust me you don't want to know."

I shook my head "No tell me."

She breathed out then took my hand so we both stood up. "I heard a voice coming from down the hall so I went to see who it was, there were voices, they grew louder then the next thing I know I'm opening my eyes on the floor."

I let out a small laugh "Oooo Shennika you seeing ghosts now?" she gave me a look shaking her head then laughed, "I didn't see any just heard a voice."

I leaned on the door frame "who did you think the voice was? Kelli?" she did a half-sided smile and shrugged, "I don't know, let's just forget it."

I nodded turning to walk out the door when she gasped. I turned to look at her. "Wait has Bethany left?" I looked at her then turned the other way "Bethany!?" I shouted down the hallway. Then we listened for a response.

There was a sound of knocking that started "I'm in here, help the door is jammed!" Bethany's voiced sounded surprisingly hear-able considering she was in a room down the hall. Shennika ran past me. "Thank god, I thought you left already," she then pushed down on the handle and shook it a few times but it didn't open.

"What? where were you? I was in here for quite a while" Bethany said from inside the bathroom then groaned trying again with the handle. Shennika paused to rest her arms then tried the door again "I think I fainted."

Bethany let go of the handle and hit the door with her palm, "what! are you ok?" her voice sounded a tad higher in pitch. Shennika turned leaning her back against the door and pushed while I tried the handle, "yeah I'm fine, what about you? did you bandage your hand?"

"Yeah I did" she said sounding a little out of breath then she groaned hitting the door again"it's no use, guys go get help!"

I hopped over the blood droplets and ran downstairs and checked in almost every room looking for mum. Shennika checked the rooms upstairs but mum wasn't there either.

"MUM!" I yelled walking from the living room to the stairs, I looked up seeing Shennika come out of mum's room, she shook her head "she's not here." Great...

*Shennika's POV*

On top of the staircase I thought for a moment of all the possible places mum could be. Then a thought occurred to me, "Bethany I'll be right back." I ran down the stairs to where Shanell was still stood "I'll check Maggie's house,  it's only the apartment next to us so I won't be long" I quickly went over to the coat hooks by the front door and grabbed my jacket.

"Ok while you're gone, I'll sort out the mess, wouldn't want anyone else to get hurt" Shanell shrugged walking over to me picking up my phone from the shelf and then handed it to me "text me what happens."

I nodded then grabbed my side bag with my keys in it and went outside closing the door behind me. I ran out the gate and up the rest of the hill pavement until I got to Maggie's house. I opened the gate and ran up her pebble lawn and knocked on her door.
