*Shanell's POV*
The night at the Lynch's family bonfire was filled with a lot of karaoke and an everlasting rave session which took my mind off how much Ryland had annoyed me. But that didn't stop him from trying to spark up a conversation with me. The sad thing was, it always ended with another pointless arguement making our mood even more repulsive.
I hated that it made me feel sick and hurt on the inside in the most irritating way, why couldn't he just leave me alone instead of just making it worse. Don't get me wrong, I want to be his friend, really. The last thing I wanted was to be arguing with Ryland especially when I'm on holiday.
I thought to myself as I took in another breath before deciding I'd had enough and was going to be the bigger person. Honestly I knew what he said was stupid and I know Bradley wouldn't be fussed over it so I must do the same- no point getting all worked up right?
I walked over to where Ryland was chatting with a few girls by his DJ equipment stand next to the stage. I bopped my head casually, biting my lip as I slowly edged forward. Standing not so far- but hidden enough- from where he was standing. I thought hard about what to say but with all the noise around me made it impossible to actually hear myself think!
"Another one?" I sighed hearing my sister groan laboriously. I saw her frown in a strop as she was being pulled back towards the stage by Ross who looked persistent to get her to sing again for his family. I giggled seeing her facial expression- I knew that look better than anyone. She shot me a desperate look but I shook my head smugly in response, sorry kiddo but I got my own problems.
Since Ryland was still deep in conversation with these 2 brunettes I could only see the back of and a third one who was...Maggie! Wha- the! Why was she talking to him? What am I saying of course she could talk to him, just as long as it wasn't about me. At that exact moment she turned to look at me briefly as did he; I quickly glanced down feeling stupid that I was staring. I turned my body and decided to stay where I was to watch what they were going to make Shennika sing this time.
She stepped onto the stage after Ross pushed the mic into her slightly nervous hands. She visually swallowed as she smiled widely waving at some of the kids that were at the front- I guessed they were the Lynchs' cousins. "What song should I sing?" she asked them, "How about one of you pick."
They beamed and shouted song suggestions all at once making her eyes pop in confusion. I laughed to myself already telling she immediately regretted asking, "chill Shennika! If it makes you feel better I'll sing after you if you want?"
She nodded in relief and gave me the thumbs up then turned back to the excited kids at the front.
"Shennika sing a Little mix song!"
"No! Sing cause I'm happy from despicable me!" a little girl asked making Shennika laugh. She shook her head. "Noooooooo."
The little girl pouted, "ah please!"
"Because I'm happyyyyyyyy clap along if you feel like room without a roof, because I'm happyyyyyy clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth! Clap along if you know what happiness is to you! Uh..." she cringed forgetting what came next. I shook my head at her.
"Clap along if you know that, that's what you want to do!" I shouted to her but she shrugged helplessly making everyone giggle in awe. She cleared her throat and asked for a different suggestion,
"Sing a Katy Perry song!" I suggested with a shrug. That I knew she could do. She pointed at me nodding as she got an idea, "ok how about teenage dream by Katy Perry?" Rydel and I nodded in unison before Ryland played the backing track and Rocky stood on the side strumming his guitar.
