*Shennika's POV*

"Going outside to get away from it all is exactly what you need," Ross nodded as he lead me down the stairs from my room before coming to a halt in the hallway that connected to the kitchen and living room.

He looked a little lost for a moment as he took a second to re-gather his thoughts- this didn't last long because he sparked up again and started rummaging around, tossing me things he thought I'd need, "since it's hot out you won't be needing your jacket."

Taking a step back from the coat rack he walked around me grabbing my side bag that hung on the staircase banister then went into the kitchen, "let's load this up with this and this, oh and this..." I raised an eye brow seeing how swiftly he worked through the kitchen; pulling out snacks and small drinks from their storage places- witnessing how well he knew where everything was, was truly amazing because he hadn't been here that long, yet he knew the penthouse better then I did!

Once he was done 'tinkering' he span around to face me, sighing in accomplishment, "ok that's that, am I forgetting anything?" I shrugged in response to his innocence.

"Ross I don't even know where we're going..." I hinted in hopes he'll at least give me a clue.

He smiled at this and walked back to the hallway- where I was still stood, then scanned his eyes over the lined up shoes by the wall and with his feet he slid me over my pair of black and white sneakers that matched the converses he was wearing.

I sighed sitting down on the bottom step of the stairs and put them on; I quickly bowed up the laces before jumping up to my feet.

"That art project you have..." Ross cleared his throat before handing me my sidebag once my keys were inside.

"Yeah?" I replied giving him a brief look; walking over to the mirror that was by the front door I fixed my hair while giving myself a once over before nicking my mum's cherry lip balm that sat on the shelf.

"Well, I just had a great idea on what you should base it on," he said with simple hand movements before he touched up his hair by ruffling it in the way I told him I liked; fixed his wristbands and necklaces so they lay properly over his yellow tank top.

Looking in the mirror he gave his teeth a quick examine before turning to ask me how he looked from behind.

I smiled rolling my eyes then stuck in by smoothing out his top before loosely finger-combing the back of his slightly wavy blonde hair making him bite his lip in response; I grinned at his behaviour hearing how he sighed happily; I stopped fiddling with his hair especially when I realised he was liking it and I gave the sides of his stomach a little squeeze signalling I was finished, "you look fine, come on, you're all done now."

He hugged himself releasing another exaggerated sigh before spinning around to face me with his bottom lip still glossy from where he was biting it; I laughed seeing his tamed expression, "Not just yet," he murmured to himself. My eyes followed his movement as he touched my necklace, turning over the guitar pick part so it was the right way up.

I gave him a questionable look seeing how his fingers still lingered off my necklace making me wonder whether he missed it and wanted it back. I stared at him for a moment as he day dreamed in thought, "Ross?" my voice came out more like a whisper.

He hummed a 'yeah' slowly moving his hazel eyes up to meet mine. A part of me wanted to ask him what he was thinking about and the other liked the mystery of it... I was torn, "you went quiet, are you ok?"

He gently touched my cheek before quickly tapping my nose with a light smile on his face, "yeah I'm fine, I was just thinking, that's all."

"well yeah, obviously...what about?"

His smile turned giggly as he walked past me into the living room where Shanell and Bradley were casually sharing a sofa. They were both laughing as well as leaning over Bradley's iPad watching a funny video no doubt.

"So what you guys up to?" I asked sitting on the sofa arm after entering the room after Ross. Bradley and Shanell laughed again but this time a lot harder- you could actually see their eyes watering as they broke out in coughs and breathless chuckles.

Shanell laughed rolling onto the fluffy rug, "god, no, no more Bradley, I can't-that guy though!" she spat before re-entering her laughing fit, "ahh! poor sucker never saw it coming."

"Yeah, but it wasn't even that though," Bradley's voice sounded a bit shaky from how much he was trying to hold back the tsunami sized laugh that wanted to break out, "it's the way that dude didn't even expect it, I mean come on!" his deep voice inflicted.

Ross and I- who were somewhat invisible- exchanged the same very confused looks as if we could read each others minds. He indicated with his eyes at the pair mouthing to me: 'what the hell!?' I simply shrugged mouthing back 'don't ask.'

I looked at Shanell and Bradley with a smile, I loved how they acted more like best friends then lovers; they're only 14 and 15, so being how they are now is great- perfect even.

"Um guys!?" Ross tried to get their attention but his words hadn't even put a dent into their bubble of joy. "Hello? You two lovebirds in the front row!" nothing. I laughed at his failed attempt to get their attention.

Ross groaned, "WOW, THIS IS IMPOSSIB--" at that moment Bradley and Shanell had stopped laughing and were staring at Ross with a blank expression.

"Ross, why are you shouting?" my mum who I didn't realise entered the room was holding a basket full of clean clothes.

"Wha- me?" he scratched behind his head in confusion, "no no no Karla, them two over there are the loud ones!"

Shanell sat up scrolling through her phone, "well actually that's not technically true, Ross is the loud one, loud is practically his middle name, oh and his twitter bio" she trailed off leaving Ross speechless.

She grinned winking at Bradley who kept a deviously innocent, neutral face, "if you don't believe me see for yourself" she held her phone up to our mum's face.

Pulling up, my mum gave Ross' startled face a stern look before picking up her phone book from the table and leaving the room, closing the door behind her.

We chose that precise moment to cry with laughter- well all except Ross, who wasn't happy that he got the blame for Bradley and Shanell's original loudness. I awed at his expression before walking over and pulling his tall frame closer to me; I tip-toed giving his cheek a kiss, "baby being loud is who you are, shouldn't you embrace it?"

"Well yeah but-"

"Na-ah! No buts," I grinned looking up at him. He smiled back. I pulled out of his hold and walked over to the extension lead by the TV to check if my Phone was fully charged.

"I was gunna ask if you guys wanted to come with me and Shennika, cause we're going out but..." Ross teased the pair. I rolled my eyes smiling and looked back down at my phone.

"What, going where?" Shanell asked jumping up to her feet.

"Somewhere" Ross smirked folding his arms, "but don't fuss Shanell, it's nowhere that'll interest you."

"Hey, hey, Ross you started it, now we're interested and you're saying forget it, no chance!" my sister rolled her eyes also folding her arms. I looked between them and sighed standing up from my seated position.

"Alright then, boys and girl let's go while it's still nice out" I grabbed my phone and side bag then began walking out the living room to the front door.

I stepped out into the sunlight and strangely felt a lot cooler. Bradley and Shanell followed behind me down the pebble lawn leaving Ross to close the door- being the last one out.

"Hey aren't you forgetting something?" he called after us; we laughed and looked back seeing his tanned figure coming slowly towards us.

"What are we forgetting?" I looked up at him with my hand shading my eyes from the sun's glare. He shrugged smiling down at me and hung his hands off his 3/4 length short's pockets.

"That I'm the one leading the way."
