Part 32

*Shennika's POV*

After we all finished talking, my mum walked Chris to the door.

Me, Bethany, Maggie and Shanell piled into Bethany's now-clean room and sat down. Shanell went over to the docking station and put on the song counting stars by One Republic. She bopped and danced singing along with us joining in moving our shoulders and clicking our fingers.

" ...But baby, I've been, I've been prayin' hardddd- HA omg that part reminds me of Rydel so much in the R5 cover" Shanell laughed sitting back down on a beanbag near the docking station. "I love their cover" Bethany said looking down fiddling with her phone, Maggie nodded in agreement. 

I smirked shrugging "hmmm the cover's ightt" I laughed seeing the girls give me a look.

"Hey don't let Ross hear you say that" Bethany said looking at me then back down at her phone.

I shook my head laughing lightly "ah you know I love them really." Maggie jumped up and went over to the docking station and scrolled through Bethany's iPod and put on the song Ain't no way we're going home by R5. She grinned "this is dedicated to Bethany because she is NOT going home, whoa!"

Bethany smiled but didn't say anything, Maggie looked at me briefly then kneeled beside Bethany who was sitting on the floor. Maggie made funny faces singing parts of the song until Bethany laughed. She then hummed coming back to sit on the bed. She grinned at me "does Ross, does Ross like do this when he sings to you, w-wait" she got up and started swaying and rocking her hips in beat with the song and moved her hands as well then flipped her hair making a face pointing at me as an impersonation of Ross. She started hysterically laughing and I started too when Shanell tried her Ross impression and did the nodding he does a lot.

"Wow that's so good Maggie" I managed to say since I was laughing so much, "and Shanell so true he actually does that a lot as well." We all had a laughing session up until Bethany spoke "we should so record Maggie and Shanell and send it to him."

I nodded "yeah he'd love that," Bethany hopped up onto the bed next to me and took out her phone putting it on camera while Shanell got the song Can you feel it that Ross sings in Austin and Ally ready. Maggie unclipped her fringe and used Bethany's brush to whoosh it to the side, she then ruffled it a bit. Shanell put on sunglasses and her black jacket.

Once Maggie was done ruffling her hair, I threw her my sunglasses to put it on. "Ready guys?" I asked laughing. "Yep" they said in unison then got in their starter poses, I held in my laugh at how funny they looked and took Bethany's phone while she went to press play on her iPod.

I started recording as they lip singed and danced to the song in their best Ross impressions. My phone buzzed "check who that is for me Beth" I whispered still recording  Maggie and Shanell. She picked up my phone and looked at it "ah it's Ross, great timing or what" she started giggling.

"Text him back and tell him what we're doing" I said giving Bethany a quick look then gave Maggie and Shanell the thumbs up as they continued dancing. Bethany was already typing away "I'm way ahead of you."

It wasn't long before Ross replied with: 'WHAAAT! OMG hahahaha!' Bethany laughed showing me the message, "I'll tell him we're sending him the video afterwards." I nodded touching the screen to zoom in a bit more to get their faces. Once the song ended Maggie and Shanell gave their final Ross pose then I clicked stop recording and laughed seeing them drop to the floor feeling exhausted.

"Wow, he's got energy I tell you that, I'm so tired" Maggie said laying on the floor panting. I moved to sit at the edge of the bed to playback their little performance. "Wow, high-five Shanell" Maggie said holding out her hand to her, "think we did Ross better then Ross, wouldn't you agree Shennika?"

I laughed, "Yeah, Maggie you definitely got the thing he does with his eyes down, oh and Shanell you're getting there with the hip sway" I winked teasingly."Well lets see what Ross thinks," we all heard Bethany say from behind us, we turned waving our hands frantically "NO!" but it was too late she sent the message about me agreeing Maggie and Shanell are better at being Ross then Ross himself and she sent the video.

We started hysterically laughing "ooooo Shen you are in deep shizz!!" Maggie said laughing harder. I pushed her off the bed "no I'm not! it was a joke" I laughed harder. At that moment my mum called me from door stairs. "Coming!" I got up and walked out the door,  "Ah Shennika Ross is calling" I heard Bethany shout after me.

"Answer it" I simply shouted back, I met my mum in the kitchen where she handed me a bag to put in the outside dumpster, I made a face and carried it outside. I walked left turning to go to the side of the house where there were lots of trees- where before I thought I saw someone standing. I ignored the ruffling sounds and just accepted that it was just the wind moving the leaves or maybe even a bird who strangely enough was out active at night....yeah. Not paranoid or anything- nope.

I quickly put the bag in the dumpster and accidently backed into someone who then put their hand over my mouth holding me from behind me. In a panic I elbowed them breaking free from their grip, I span around ready to strike but saw it was just a boy. He moved a bit to the right, I looked closer- tanned skin, spikey brown hair and in the lamp light his eyes sparkled..."Billy?"

"Ah!" he groaned rubbing at his side where I elbowed him, "oh so sorry about that, I do karate you see so it's a reflex reaction" I said rushing forward to rub better where I elbowed him, "but in all fairness you deserved that, why the hell you sneaking around in the dark for?!"

He smiled shaking his head at my feistiness, I stood watching him "what do you want Billy?" he looked at me a little startled at what I said, his eyes also softened "can we talk?" I breathed out and unfolded my arms seeing his innocent face expression, "ok what about?"

He looked a little relieved, "about us, like why I haven't been hearing from you, you don't answer my texts anymore. Shennika I really like you and I've been trying to tell you that but I feel like I'm struggling to get your attention" he gasped taking in a breath. I looked from his face to the ground not knowing what to do. I didn't want to hurt anybody but I feel like that's all I'm doing.

"Billy...I'm sorry I haven't been answering your messages but you're making it just the more harder for me, this is exactly why I have to keep my distance. Does Kelli know you're here?" I looked at his slightly annoyed expression, "of course not! right now Kelli is the last person on my mind, I don't want to talk to her, only for Lab Rats but other than that I don't speak to her."

I frowned sighing, "I don't get what you want from me" he took a step closer but I took one back- this only made him frown. "Just...please don't shut me out." I rubbed my arm feeling bad for causing him to feel like this, "I don't know Billy, I think Kelli has something to do with the bruises on Bethany's arm and the reason she's been crying, I'll do anything for her and if Kelli is doing this to get back at me for being friends with you, then I have no choice but to shut you out."

I walked past him but he took hold of my arm "wait!" I turned to look at him, "I'll deal with Kelli," he started, "it's me she wants right? so I'll um-" he looked at me with focussed eyes then hesitated looking at the ground. I narrowed my eyes at him realising what he meant "what! Billy are you being serious? you can't! that's not what I want, no one should have to be in a relationship with someone they don't love, never."

He narrowed his eyes back at me "it's too late for that, you don't love me- you love Ross, I have nothing to lose by going out with Kelli, knowing you're ok is enough to get me through it" I bit my lip seeing how serious he was "but Billy you don't deserve this, in fact none of us do, please don't do this- I'll keep my distance, I don't want you to get hurt like I know you will when she susses what your real reasons are!" I pleaded with him.

He closed his eyes shaking his head slowly "I can't feel anymore hurt then what I am already" my heart broke hearing him say that. First Bethany and now him- protecting me. Protecting me. Protecting me! I was sick of hearing it, my stomach twisted every time...
