Part 14

*Shennika's POV*

Eventually Billy released me then helped me up pulling me straight into a hug. "Um thanks" I said laughing awkwardly pulling back from him and since he was smiling at me. I quickly averted my eyes over to Spencer, "been so nice meeting you guys."

"Yeah it's been fun meeting you guys too" Spencer smiled knowingly before walking up to me, "let's try this again, group hug guys!" he shouted pulling me, Shanell and Bethany into a tight hug. Billy smiled and was going to join us in the group hug but was pulled back by Kelli, "Billy let's go um w-we're gunna be late" she said all at once tugging his arm forward.

"But Kelli we've got ages yet, let's hang with these guys for a bit" he turned to look at me then smiled briefly, "and besides I wanna stay."

I was standing with Bethany when Billy rejoined us. Bethany whispered to me "what's up with Kelli?" I shrugged and looked over at her as she walked over to Spencer's other side, she looked as if she was in a mood. "Billy is everything ok?" I asked in a confused tone.

He smiled and nodded, "yeah Kelli's just being Kelli, can I talk to you over there" he gestured pointedly at the lockers. "yeah sure thing" I was about to follow him over to the lockers when Bethany pulled me back, to my surprise she had a worried look on her face.
"Whoa what are you doing? Billy's getting abit intimate wouldn't you say?"
I folded my arms at her, taken aback by her words, "Bethany what are you getting at? He just wants to talk."

She rolled her eyes at me as if I was the out of sorts one, "you were so flirting with this Billy guy, what about Ross?" she scolded, raising an eyebrow at me.

Feeling my temperature raise I groaned in annoyance, "what about Ross!? He hasn't even asked me out yet so technically we aren't even dating. So that means, Beth, I can speak to anyone I want too. And besides I sooo wasn't flirting, Billy's nice an' all but we're just mates, ok?"

When Bethany didn't respond I walked away from her and joined Billy by the lockers. He raised an eye brow at me, smiling as I approached, "Shennika...you ok?"

"I'm fine it's a long story, what did you want to talk about?" I said in a huff. He smiled before leading me out the upstage doors as we went for a walk. Once we were alone he spoke, "Kelli's not usually like this, I think she's in a mood with me because I told her I wanted to stay and hang out with you" he sighed sitting down on a bench near the staff tavern.

I smiled "aw you really wanted to hang out with me?" I sat beside him then smiled wider seeing how he shyly looked down at the ground then ran his fingers through his spiky hair, "yeah, it's been fun and if you want...we could maybe hang out again?" he said nervously looking up at me.

"Hey there's no need to be nervous around me, and for what it was worth it was fun hanging out with you too- as friends!" I quickly added nudging his shoulder casually. What am I doing? Why would I say that? He already knows we're just friends.

Then Bethany's words echoed through my head 'what about Ross?' I closed my eyes tight with my head in my hands, "what about him?" I said out loud without realizing.

"What about him?" Billy repeated slowly in a confused tone. He had his hand on my back and looked at me concerned, "Are you sure you're ok?"

"Yeah" I poked him gently on the cheek then ruffled his hair making it more spiky then it was before, "and I'd love to hang out with you again," he looked at me intensively before smiling broadly "that's good to hear." The look of relief on his features and that he wasn't so shy anymore made me relax a bit more.

He stared with warm hazel eyes, it was all so familiar, a moment passed before he took me into a hug, my eyes watered as my thoughts resurfaced...
