Part 25

*Shennika's POV*

Running down the stairs I felt so rubbish and guilty. But it's not me that's leaving, I'm not the one that's leaving her- it's the other way round. With everything that's going on it seems like the worst time for her to go. I don't want to go through this without her- I thought she liked it here, but I guess not.

Yeah, I have Shanell who at times can give good advice and I know she'd be there when I really need her- if her phone is on...maybe. But Bethany is my best friend- I guess I just expected more from her... I don't want her to leave but what can I do.

I sighed and grabbed my jacket and put my keys into my side bag. Shanell looked up at me from the sofa "what's up with you?" I didn't bother look back, instead I just shrugged, "come on, out with it" she continued, placing her papers onto the glass table in front of her.

"Bethany's leaving" I said with my head hung down. There was no way of telling whether she heard me or not but I didn't wait around for a response. I pulled my hair over my jacket so it wouldn't be tucked inside and quickly fixed my side bag onto my shoulders before nodding at Shanell, "see you later." I stepped outside closing the door behind me. The Lynch's weren't here yet but I just felt I needed to get out of the house.

I stood bracing against the rough bricks of the house for a while just taking in the cool April breeze and the heat of the sun. A moment passed before I decided to walk further down the pebble lawn but just as I started walking a car came through the gates and pulled up further down from where I was stood.

Riker put his window all the way down and smiled at me, "hi there" he pushed up his sun glasses as Rydel climbed over him waving hysterically.

I managed a smile back, "hi" Rydel flipped her hair back fighting with Riker to sit in the middle "come on then, aren't you hot in that sun?" she said fanning her hand illustrating her point. I shrugged "looks hotter in there to be honest."

I smiled getting into at the back of the car to sit next to Rydel instead of Riker because they swapped seats. Stormie looked back at me smiling from the driver's seat, "hiya Shennika, we all ready to go?" we all nodded. I looked around- it was only us. Rocky, Ryland or Mark (their dad) wasn't here.

"Where's Rocky? isn't he coming too?" I asked openly. Rydel sat there fanning herself for a moment, then me with a paper fan she got from their trip to Japan. She grinned thinking about my question before answering with: "he's grounded." I looked at her in disbelief and from seeing Stormie's smile, I desperately looked to Riker for a word on this. He smiled at me before clearing his throat then leaned forward to look at me over Rydel "he just couldn't come."

He acted as if that answered everything, I nodded feeling unsure then leaned back as Stormie drove out of the gate, down the long hill and onto the freeway to the hospital.

Time flew before we got to the hospital. We all went in and while Stormie was at the checking desk signing Ross out, me, Riker and Rydel went to see Ross.

"Ross!" Rydel ran and hugged him, pecking him on the cheek, they both grinned "nice to see you too Rydel" he smiled hugging her back. Riker fist bumped him then picked up a bag of Ross' belongings, that he had slung over his shoulder and handed him a change of clothes. "Home today," Riker smiled.

"YES!!" Ross shouted smiling widely. On the other side of the room, his nurse gave him a look and laughed "oh I see how it is Ross, you can't wait to leave me huh?" he lay back with his arms folded behind his head and smirked cheekily "yup! nah I'm kiddin' ofcourse you're gonna miss me- I'm your favourite patient!"

She laughed ticking something on her clipboard, "goodbye Ross Lynch" she smiled faking a bow then walked to the door. I moved out the way and held the door open so she could get out. "He's gonna miss you really!" Riker quickly shouted after her.

Ross rose up and gave him a look "erm did I say that?" I laughed walking forward to stand by Rydel. He beamed at me then smirked in the way he always does, "and how are you doin' little lady?" I smiled catching sight of Rydel raising an eyebrow, I grinned at her expression before turning to Ross, "yeah I'm good and everyone is little compared to you!"

I bit my lip as Rydel put her arm over my shoulder "HA HA!" she pulled me so she hugged me from behind and rocked slightly "us girls gotta stick together," she stuck her tongue out at Ross and mouthed something that he didn't quite catch. He narrowed his eyes and gave her a weird look before grinning with Riker.

Rydel rolled her eyes, "hurry up and get dressed already." He jumped off his bed and caught the bag of clothes that Riker threw at him then walked to the bathroom to change.

When he came out fully dressed, he sat back on his bed to tie the laces of his converses, he started humming and mumbling then started singing (the R5 song Crazy stupid love) "...but I don't care what people say coz you, ha, youuu, make me feel like I can fly, Electrified! you blow my mind in every single way, ahhhhhhhhh, wherever we goo...Yeah! it's crazy, stupid love, I'm losing all control waooohh... "

I grinned seeing him dance then smiled as he made it clear he was singing to me. "Whatever it takeeesss Baby! it's crazy stupid love, I'm feeling through your bones uh-ohhhh." I watched as he danced putting his hands on his heart and swayed his hips to his own rhythmic beat and did some foot work while Riker tapped his feet and nodded humming along with him.

Me and Rydel shrugged at each other and joined in with the humming and bopped our heads adding extra 'ah ha's' to Ross' singing. " I've seen the way you've been shining lately, put your hands and let's party, baby, you just hear the truth it makes me, say woah! ahhhhhh" I sung with Rydel as we held hands and span around.

Ross ran over to us and joined in and held our hands then gestured to Riker to join us then we all span around linking hands in a circle. We laughed feeling dizzy as we increased in speed, I looked at Ross who was looking at me with heart felt eyes smiling.

He sung some more "...whatever it takes, baby, it's crazy, stupid love, I'm feeling through your bones, oh oh, Got that, Crazy! Stupid! Love!... wherever we go..." we pulled back laughing feeling so dizzy, me and Ross fell back onto his hospital bed.

I looked up at him smiling widely "woah! there's 3 of you" I closed my eyes for a bit then opened them seeing just one Ross- who was smiling laying next to me. He made a heart shape with his fingers and held it in the air above me then held it on his chest looking back at me grinning then kissed my forehead.

Riker and Rydel were laughing sitting on the floor trying to get over their dizziness. Then Stormie came in putting her handbag on her shoulder and gave us a look "why are you guys lying about, lets go."

She shook her head smiling then left the room seeing as we didn't budge, when she left we exploded with laughter then Riker stood up "alright, come on guys lets go" me and Rydel got up and looked at Ross who lay there with his arms in the air suggesting we pull him up.

Riker rolled his eyes and took a step forward but was pushed back by Rydel "let me." Ross looked at her smiling and held his hands out, she flicked her hair and rolled up her bracelets and leant forward then suddenly tickled him hard.

He rolled around on his bed hysterical laughing then Rydel pulled back, "alright, alright I'm up!" he said in a sulk. Rydel put her hands on her hips and smirked at him tilting her head up "that's how you do it" me and Riker stared at her in amazement as she walked to the door.

Ross jumped up and took me under his arm and we walked out the door with Riker following behind "lets eat, I'm HUNGRY!" we all nodded in agreement.

We turned back hearing Ross' nurse-who was standing further up the hall-clear her throat "um Rossss" she smirked pointing to her whole cart full of dinners (the one Ross disliked). He stared with wide eyes in horror and shook his head rapidly then span on his heels and speed walked in the opposite direction with his arm still around me.
