*Shennika’s POV*

“Hurry Riker!” Ryland shouted anxiously over his brother’s shoulder, “have you found it yet? We need to go to Ross, now!”

“Alright Ryland! Give me a moment...” Riker said typing faster on his phone before moving it around, searching for a better signal.

Still in the airport, we all sat in silence waiting on Riker to find Ross’ location on some App that he had. Nerves jittered through us as our minds conjured up fight scenarios in which Ross could have gotten into. Why wasn’t he here already? What’s taking him so long!?

I was sitting on the edge of my seat, leg bouncing energetically and my eyes jumping on any one who came through that automatic door- each time I grew more and more disappointed it wasn’t my tall, blonde, lovely, romantic excuse of a boyfriend  which I so CRAVED to see right now.

Stormie especially didn’t like the idea of Ross being near a fight and with every minute that went by she just became more and more disconcerted with worry- like I’d imagine any mother would!

From somewhere behind, Shanell tapped me, pulling me away from my wide eyed daydream.

“You ok?” She said kneeling in the chair parallel to me.

I turned to her and smiled faintly, “yeah I will be once we find Ross. Everything’s such a mess!” I held my face in my palms.

“Hey,” my sister nudged me, “come on, we’re all worried about Ross. He said he’ll be here and I know he’ll at least try and meet that promise.” I looked up at her, “just have a little faith in the guy,” she told me, “he is running all the way to the airport for you.”

We cracked a little giggle at the thought. Yeah she was right; the crazy things Ross would put himself through for the people he loves, just the fact that he’d do anything for them was a comfort and was one of the many reasons why I was so fond of him.

“Yes! This is it! I’ve found him!” Riker held his phone close to his face to make out the location of his younger brother. We all jumped up from our seated positions and waited for him to continue. “Come on I’ve got him, he’s not too far, let’s go!”

“What where is he!?” Shanell quickly walked over to him with Bradley following behind.

“Look see, he’s there and we’re here, so it’s not far,” Riker hurriedly showed Shanell his phone map, “Guys let’s go!” he rallied.

“Let me come with you!” Stormie said standing up from her seat.

“No mum,” Rocky said sitting her back down, “it’ll be faster if it were just us, I promise you we’ll be back as soon as we can.”

Stormie hesitated, “Uh... alright, but call me ok,” she looked at all of us before taking my mother’s hand that was held out to her. They watched us with worried eyes but they gave us the nod which sent us on our way.

Riker, Rydel, Ryland, Rocky, Shanell, Bradley and myself (minus Bethany who had to stay to await her flight) ran out of the automatic doors of the Airport atrium and dashed our way down the street, into the night.

Slowing down, we turned a corner and travelled up the sidewalk before reaching a crossing that lead to another road of small shops. We ran across the zebra crossing and carried on up a main road.

Riker looked down at his phone map, “alright guys, we got to, make a turn, down the alleyway, that’s two blocks up!” he shouted to us between breaths, moving faster to be ahead of Rocky who had just passed him.

I nodded looking back at Rydel and Shanell who exchanged breathless looks at each other and powered on to catch up with me and the boys.

“Are we crossing this road Riker?” Bradley shouted in question over the loudness of moving traffic. Riker nodded back before rallying us up to run faster up the street. We slowed coming close to another crossing when we caught sight of Kelli running in our direction.

“Kelli?” Shanell shouted in confusion then turned to look at me as we came to a halt right in front of her.

“Shennika,” she said still panting, gasping to catch her breath, “I’m so glad you haven’t left yet!”

“What are you doing here Kelli?” Riker spoke for me. She furrowed her eyebrows coughing with thirst, wiped the sweat off her forehead and felt her heated cheeks.

“It’s Ross” she was crouched over out of breath; “I came to find you” she looked directly at me before returning her gaze to Riker.

“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t just slap you one!” Shanell yelled angrily ready to pounce but was quickly stopped by Bradley and Ryland.

“Why should we trust you?” Ryland spat at her. She gave us a startled look as if she couldn’t understand why we were so angry with her. “You’ve done nothing but give us grief; we wouldn’t be in this situation if it wasn’t for you!”

“Ok! I know you’ve got your reasons to not like me and I’ll admit I have done things I’m not proud of...” she sighed.

“Come on, we could have told you that” Rocky rolled his eyes growing impatient.

“But you’ve got to trust that if I didn’t care about Ross I wouldn’t have just risked leaving the gang to come all the way down here to get your help!” she looked at us desperately.

“I suppose that’s true” Rydel folded her arms and looked at Shanell who rolled her eyes at it all, “but do you know where Ross is now?”

Kelli nodded frantically, “he’s in very bad company and they’ll be a fight if we don’t go and stop him now!”

Riker sighed, “Alright then, we better hurry before someone gets hurt tonight.”
