Part 43

*Shanell's POV*

Paris came out with an unreadable expression, she was about to walk up to me but got caught up in a crowd of nosy Girls who were just as nervous about this audition as we were. I walked around the crowd trying to find Paris but my name was being called by the director's assistant. Man! I'm just going to have to talk to her afterwards, I walked cutting eyes with Lauren as I made my way through the crowd to the audition hall.

"Alright Sha-nell please stand on the white cross" I took in a breath and walked over to the middle of the room to stand on the red taped cross on the floor. I watched as the director looked at me then wrote on the paper in a scribble, I waited for further instructions.

"O-Kay, nice to meet you Shanell, how about we start" he smiled partly sitting on his desk putting his clipboard onto his lap, "what did you think of the characters from reading the logs?" I nodded smiling while tapping my leg "yeah I liked them."

"That's good, what character are you trying out for?"

"Skylar Storm please."

"No need to say please," he laughed, "good choice by the way, how confident are you feeling?" I grinned back biting my lip "very!"

"Great, recite stanza 1-3 from the top when you're ready'" I nodded then took a deep breath, ok. This is it, be calm, natural and...oh what was Paris' oath again? Um...oh yeah! It was to get a role in Mighty Med and to be remembered here and to have fun most importantly.

I thought about Lauren and I knew how confident she was, no! She's not getting this role, I can get this part if I really want too, she's not the only one with talent! I've got passion, a goal- a dream I want to pursue...a purpose. "ok I'm ready!"

I counted myself in getting into character, "I'm not your typical super girl, I'm a girl with power! Cross my path again danger, you'll really get a taste of my wrath! I'm like karma, you'll never see me coming, better watch your back. Because where I go is not with you, I go with my kinesis! Heated eyes that will explode every cellular! AstroTurf fulla rage! Not your typical superhuman, Annihilator! Gravity can't hold me down, na-uh! Wanna know why? Because I'm Skylar Storm!"

The director smiled and clapped which made me feel a lot better about my performance, "very nice Shanell." I breathed out giving him a thank you nod, "now time for the physical phase," he said, "I've heard you recite the Skylar Storm dialogue now let's see you become her, bare in mind we can't give you the costume at this stage so you'll just have to use your imagination for this part."

After the stagehands were done setting up the obstacle course, I was ready to go. I got into my ready position then on the directors call I started running along the mats, kart-wheeling, leaping and sliding through the different obstacles. "good work Shanell, now let's crank up the difficultity but this time there will be my ninjas who you must get past to the target at the end."

I stared at him with wide eyes "ninjas!?" I gulped seeing him nod. Right. Ninjas, cool....

I waited trying to keep my calm while the 'ninjas' got themselves into the obstacle course. They wore target punching pads on their hands and kickboxing target pads strapped on their legs and stood in different places of the obstacle course. On director's call again I started running, the first ninja slided in front of me kicking me off my feet, I fell back on the mat.

Somewhere I heard Lauren laugh, "cluts! you're making it is easy Sha-nell" I darted my eyes over to the backstage curtain where she was spying. The director fumed, "young lady, go back to the waiting room! Do you wish to be disqualified!?"

"My name is Lauren! And no but if you want someone to disqualify Shanell is your girl" she pointed at me sticking her tongue out.

"Oh is that so?" she gave a dispy nod, "get out! And go back to the waiting room miss Hill!" she looked at us jaw dropped then stormed off through the hall to the waiting room and slammed the door behind her.
