*Bethany's POV*

I didn't want to lie, but I had no choice. Ross can be very pushy especially when he wants something bad enough.

I was in Maggie's room when my phone rang, seeing it was him I pressed 'answer' and held it up to my ear. He spoke very swiftly and his voice was muffled, was he crying? I couldn't work it out but the only thing I got from that weird phone call was that he wanted me to meet him and it was something to do with Shennika. Was she in problem or hurt? I didn't know but it gave me enough reason to leave- I had to go.

Maggie returned from the kitchen just as I tried to sneak out, I did what anyone would of done in that situation- I asked her to cover for me.

The torn look on her face and how she pleaded to come with me just made me feel more guilty that I resented the whole idea even more. This is all down to Ross! I tried to ease her state of mind by ensuring her that I wouldn't be too long. But the door was closed and I was half way down the road before I could see further grief display on her features.

Typical Ross had to pick somewhere dramatic to meet up- couldn't it be at the bottom of the road by the lamp post and friendly corner shop? but oh no! the famous Ross Lynch doesn't want to be recognised, there's a first....

The place we were meeting was by the entrance to the children play area. At this hour it's ghostly and deserted; There's a wide space of field and more trees that surround it- perfect for a nice day out in the sun not for secret meetings in the late evening early night!

It was quiet alright and unevenly dark with the minor street lamps as our only light source (apart from the moon of course). I straightened up in acts to remain tough as I spotted his blonde head standing in the middle of the field.

I stopped walking so there was a distance between us and decided to be the first one to speak, "what do you want Ross?" I watched as he uneasily looked left and right to make sure that we were completely alone. I tried to remain patient the best I could, but then he spoke. "You."

My eyes popped as I almost collapsed to the floor at his response, I somehow found the strength to steady my legs, "what!?" I choked on my own saliva. It took a moment for him to catch on but when he did he tilted his head back in laughter.

"No, no!" he cried still laughing hard, "that's not what I meant, I called you here because I need your help nothing more." In a way I was relieved that this wasn't some crazy 'will you run away with me' moment but a part of me wasn't sure whether to be offended or not by his reaction to the idea.

"Ross whatever this is can it hurry up, I told Maggie I wouldn't be long," I folded my arms, cheeks flushing slightly, "do you know what I had to go through to come out here!" seeing him sniffling his laugh just make me fume even further. His smile did nothing but tick me off, "you know what, I'm going back! Good bye Ross!"

"Wait! Beth! Would you wait up, I just-" Ross called out to stop me from leaving; I sharply turned around in annoyance. "What!?"

"Come back here and I'll tell you" he spoke quietly keeping his face neutral. I sighed and walked back over in defeat, "out with it, didn't you say it was something to do with Shennika?"

"Yeah I was getting to that," he took another glance left before continuing, "Beth- Bethany I called you here because I know what kind of lengths you'd go to, to protect her-"

"Yeah because she's my best friend, now Ross what is this really all about?" I folded my arms waiting for him to get to his point- if there even was one.

He sighed, "it's Kelli, I thought I could cope with her but I can't, I need your help to put an end to her, an end to this!"

I laughed in ridicule, was he being serious? "Ross are you hearing yourself right now?" I held my head in my hand causing my plum coloured hair to flow forward, "how can we possibly stop her? I tried once remember? and we both know how that ended, if going back there is what you're implying then you shouldn't 'ave!"
