*Shennika's POV*

"Nika, you sure you're ok?" Ross slammed his mum's car door shut and stared at me over the car roof as we stood a short distance from my house. "Yes Ross! I'm sure I don't need to go for a check up at the hospital," I bit my lip fiddling with the top of the car door before shutting it also. I gave him a brief smile not wanting to discuss the day's events any further; I slowly turned away and walked up the pebble lawn to my door.

We had left the others at the Fair since they wanted to go on more rides and compete in booths, so Ross called his mum to take me home with him wanting to come along as well, but at this precise moment in time I only had one thing on my mind- to shower!

"I'm sorry!" he quickly called out in desperation to stop me from leaving. I rolled my eyes turning to meet the frown he wore, I narrowed my eyes seeing him hold his hand over his heart gripping his shirt slightly as he racked his mind for the right words to say; he sighed in frustration when his mum cut him off his trail of thoughts, pleading with him to give me a break- which just made him shake off her advice all together, "Shennika please, look, come back to ours, I wanna make sure you're-"

"AH!" In pain I groaned shaking my head and covered my ears, feeling my head echo piercingly as a flash back of Kelli's smirk and me falling off the pier into the loud sea replayed in an exaggerated loop. My eyes were squeezed shut, and I saw nothing but blackness except the occasional burning red light that hung in the corner of my closed eye lids from Stormie's car lights.

"Shennika!" Ross' voice faded into a whisper that transformed into the sound of rushing waves crashing below me. My fears opened as I felt butterflies race through my body, choking me once it reached my throat as I fell deeper into the blackness hitting the ground of my subconscious.

I looked around in the darkness with hungry eyes that scanned every inch of the pitch black space for any forms of light. I let out a breath realising that the whole re-living-my-fall-into-the-sea was just an illusion. I touched my arm- there were goose bumps that appeared instantly from the quivering fear.

A nightmare? This must be, I can't think of any other explanation for this. I swallowed feeling a hot bead of sweat tingle down the back of my neck. I squeezed my tired eyes shut and opened them multiple times in attempts to get back to reality but it was no use. Finally a light flickered forming a circle on the floor in front of me; I narrowed my eyes seeing Kelli smirking right at me! "Miss me, best friend?"

"Kelli!" I growled through gnashed teeth keeping my eyes on her since she made it pretty clear she couldn't be trusted. "I was stupid agreeing to be friends with you, should of known you'd never quit making my life hell!" I frowned clenching my fists walking over to her. She grinned at me, "interesting choice of words because this is hell baby!"

I stopped and gave her a weird look before looking around the dark empty space then back at her in confusion, "this can't be hell."

She folded her arms and relaxed more on her right leg raising an arch eyebrow at me "OH YEAH!!?" She challenged. I gave a quick nod marching over to her "YEAH, because if this was hell then why is it just us two?"

She stuck her bottom lip out sort of in a pout returning her narrowed gaze, "ok Shen-Shen, whatever you say Shen-Shen," she smirked playfully. My eyes followed seeing her slowly walk around me to a staircase in the middle of the room I hadn't noticed previously. She stomped slightly as she made her way up to the top leaving me watching from the bottom, "oh Shen-Shen?" she called in a casual voice.

I rolled my eyes at her, folding my arms "what?" She stopped once she got to the top and leant on the metal rail that I also didn't notice a while back. "I forgot to tell you, I'm so relieved you're alive you know, all that guilt has finally, I dunno- drifted away. A bit like how you did off the pier." She said the last part under her breath, covering it with a snarky smile.
