Accident

As we came to a stop on the highway an ambulance sped past with the sirens going.

"I hope whoever it is isn't seriously hurt" I said as we sat fidgeting because we were worried about Charlotte

Ring...

I checked the caller ID to see it was Charlotte so I answered almost instantly

"Hello Charlotte where are you?" I asked as I answered my phone

"Hello I'm a paramedic, your sister Charlotte has been involved in a car accident" the paramedic said as my heart sank in sadness.

"Where are you? is she okay?" I asked as I worried

"We are on the midrain highway and shes unconscious, we also can't say much for her unborn child" The paramedic said as I began crying

"I'll be there in a minute I'm waiting on the highway now" I said as I cut the line

"Where's charlotte?" Jai asked

"She's been involved in the accident ahead" I replied as I cried into Luke's shirt

"Come on Laura, we'll go see how she is" Luke said

"How's our baby?" Jai asked

"I'm not sure let's just go" I said as I cried even harder as I got out of the car.

Jai and myself held hands as we walked up the traffic to see Charlottes unconscious body laying on a stretcher and Nicki going in the back of an ambulance.

Seeing the sight of a truck and Nicki's car smashed in at the front made me feel even more upset, but to see the truck on the wrong lane made me angry.

"Charlotte" I said crying as I ran over to her and grabbed her hand

I looked at her face to see she was pale, cold and she had bruising and cuts on her face

"Excuse me please step away" a paramedic said

"That's my sister" I replied not taking my hand away from Charlotte

"Miss I can see but please we need to get her to a hospital" the paramedic said as he began wheeling her body away and into the back of an ambulance

"She'll be fine Laura, both Charlotte and the baby will pull through" Jai said as he hugged me while I cried into his shirt.

"I need to call mum" I said

"Luke and myself will call you go in the ambulance" Jai said as I raced over to the ambulance before hopping in

As I sat in the waiting room I kept checking my phone to watch the time.

"Darling" mum said as she hugged me and I burst into tears

"Mum there's been no news" I said as I cried into mums dress

"They'll have something soon" mum said as Gina, Luke, Jai and Beau came in.

Jai's eyes were blood shot just like mine from crying. Jai and myself hugged each other bursting into tears as we both panicked

"Mrs Stuart?" a doctor asked as he came out to the waiting room and mum shot up from her seat

"Yes doctor" mum said

"We have some news Charlotte has lost her baby due to the impact, sorry. But You can come and see Charlotte she's awake" the doctor said as Jai began crying to hear his unborn baby hadn't made it.

"Can Laura and Jai come too?" mum asked holding in tears

"Yes miss all of you can go in" the doctor replied as mum, Jai and myself walked through the white corridors before we entered Charlotte's room. Charlotte had tears falling from her eyes, she was covered in bruises and cuts, while she had lost her baby bump

"Jai" Charlotte said as she burst into tears

"Don't worry Char, at least you're okay" Jai said as he hugged and kissed Charlotte

"Charlotte I never want to see you like that again, I thought you were going to go" I said as I hugged Charlotte.

"I'm strong Laura, the day one of us go the other will" Charlotte said

"Where's Nicki?" mum asked

"She's still in surgery" the doctor said, as the words rolled from the doctors mouth mum began tearing up.

"Charlotte you're going to be in a bit of pain when the pain killers where off" The doctor said

"What's the worst thing that's happened with this accident?" Charlotte asked as she was unaware she'd lost the baby

"Charlotte don't panic darling but we have some news" Mum said as she began tearing up

"Spit it out what's happened?" Charlotte asked demanding for an answer

"The baby you've lost it" I said as Charlotte just looked at me blankly while I just stood there unsure what to do because Jai and mum were already comforting her as she started to break down.

"Laura let's give them some space" Luke said taking me out of the room

"Why did I have to deliver the bad news?" I questioned as I began crying into Luke's shoulder

"Because you're the strong one Laura" Luke replied as he kissed my forehead and rubbed my back with his thumb.
