Laura and Luke[in editing]

rough patch

Bringing Charlotte home from the hospital was hard because mum hadn't left her side so we didn't remove any of the baby items that mum had bought.

"Welcome home" I said as I opened the door letting Charlotte past first.

"Thanks, I think I'm going to go lay down for a bit" Charlotte said making her way upstairs and into her bedroom.

After Charlotte lost the baby we could all see she felt dead, empty and depressed inside but none of us new how to help her.

"Darling can you take this into the laundry?" mum asked handing me Charlottes hospital bag, that contained her clothes.

"Sure" I replied walking off into the laundry and putting her clothes in the washer before turning it on

As I made my way upstairs I could hear Charlotte crying again so I decided to go see if I could help.

"Charlotte come here" I said as I gave her a hug

"Laura why did I have to lose my baby?" Charlotte asked as she cried into my arm while I hugged her

"I don't know Charlotte I can't tell you but what I can tell you is that you're still here with us" I replied

"I guess, can I have some time to myself?" Charlotte asked

"Sure, just tell me if you need anything" I replied before walking out of her bedroom and into my own.

"Darling you can go visit Luke if you want" mum stated standing in my doorway while I tapped away at my phone.

"Yeah but I'm just to tired mum" I replied

"Want me to drive you?" mum asked

"It's fine, I'll have a nap then make my way over to Luke's" I replied as I put my phone down and laid on my bed in attempt to fall asleep.

As I pulled into Luke's driveway, I didn't know if I really wanted to be there even though there wasn't anything going on.

I knocked on the front door and waited for someone to answer.

"Hey Laura Luke didn't say you were coming around" Skip said as he opened the door

"Because I didn't tell him I was coming over. If he's busy I'll leave you too it" I replied

"We were in the middle of something but did you need to speak with Luke?" Skip asked

"No just wanted to see if he wanted to hangout, but he's obviously busy so I'll cya some other time bye" I said to Skip before walking back to my car and driving away.

As I drove down the freeway I had my music booming through the speakers whilst eating a burger I'd bought from maccas.

Pulling into a car park I just sat in my seat not having the energy to move or drive because I was so tired even though I'd basically just had a nap

"Hello" I said to mum as I came into the living room before falling onto the couch

"Was Luke that tiring?" mum asked

"He was busy, I've just been driving around for the past hour" I replied as I turned the tv volume up so I didn't have to listen to mum ramble on but it wasn't long until I'd fell asleep.

"Laura wake up" a masculine voice said as I woke up

"Hmm hi" I said fluttering my eyes open to see Beau staring at me

"Want to go and get maccas or go to the gym?" beau asked

"Sure but where's Luke?" I asked

"He's at Nonnas with Jai" Beau replied

"Are they avoiding us or something?" I asked

"Laura I don't know, just get ready for gym and we'll go" Beau stated as I made my way upstairs.

I got changed into a singlet, 3/4 length leggings and my runners before tying my hair up in a bun and grabbing my handbag

"Let's go" I said to Beau as I came back into the living room.

"Alright then" Beau said as we hopped into his commodore and going to the gym.

"Beau why is Luke not giving me the time of day?" I asked as I rode the exercise bike

"I don't know Laura, you have to ask him yourself" Beau replied as he lifted a set of 10 kilogram weights.

"Oh hey" I heard a voice say from behind me instantly realizing it was Luke.

"Hey are you ignoring me?" I asked

"No Laura why would you think that?" Luke questioned

"Because it feels like, never mind don't worry about it" I replied as I pushed passed going into the change room.

After I had a quick shower I got changed into a vintage print dress with nude pastel ballet flats before tying my hair up in a bun and walking out the change room.

"Laura are you going to walk away?" Luke asked as I exited the change room

"I have to go look after Charlotte" I replied before giving Luke a kiss on the cheek before walking out the gym doors.

As I sat on the bus I couldn't stop thinking about Luke, we'd obviously hit a rough patch just like the titanic when the ship hit the iceberg except we weren't sinking.

"Girls we have guests" mum said as I sat on the couch with Charlotte as we watched The hangover

"Well we don't want to deal with anyone mum" Charlotte said shutting mums statement down

"Even if it were the Brooks' family?" mum questioned

"I don't want to deal with Luke mum, I'm going to bed" I replied walking off upstairs and into my room

Getting changed into my pajamas I looked through my wardrobe at all the photos I had of Luke and me happily together.

"knock knock" Lukes voice said at my door

"Im going to bed can you leave me alone please?" I asked in a rude tone

"Laura come on" Luke replied as he opened my door and coming in

"No just leave me alone please" I said as I hopped into my bed

"What have I done wrong?" Luke asked as he taken a seat on the end of my bed

"Just leave me alone I'll speak to you in the morning" I said as I rolled over and shutting my eyes

"Okay then night" Luke said turning my light off and shutting my door
