Hospital

The noise of a beeping monitor next to me, I opened my eyes and the light hurt.

I looked around and there I was in a white, boring, room all by myself.

I looked at myself, I was covered in bruising and the pain killers started wearing off

"Help" I said as my throat filled with pain and a lady came running in

"Hello, Laura Smith?" The lady asked

"What" I replied as I rubbed my head as it throbbed

"You've been in a car accident, it was believed that the opposing car turned out in front of some cars before another swung right into the front of you." the lady said

"I'm beginning to hurt" I said

"I'll go get the doctor" the nurse said as she walked out the room.

I looked around the room to realize there was nothing to do

I slowly began closing my eyes again as I fell asleep

Waking up I felt someone holding my hand. I opened my eyes softly and looked to see him, Luke sitting next to my bed rubbing my hand

"Thank goodness you're awake" Luke said as I gave him a weak look

"How'd you find out?" I asked

"Through mum" Luke replied

"What actually happened?" Luke asked

"All I know is I was in an accident" I replied

"Excuse me sir visiting hours are over" the nurse said

"Please five more minutes?" I pleaded

"5 more minutes" the nurse said sternly before walking off down the hall

"I've missed you Laura" Luke said

"I've missed you Luke but, I don't know what we can do. We have argued so much and I don't want anything else to happen because we are just tearing up each other and it's not worth it" I said

"One more chance for it to work out, if it doesn't Laura we go our separate ways. But if 'us' works out we stay together" Luke suggested

"I'll get back to you, when will I get out of here?" I asked

"Few days, I'm not sure. Ask tomorrow" Luke replied

"Will do, where's everyone else?" I asked

"Who knows mum rang me, because I've been staying at James' house" Luke replied

"Alright, I think 5 minutes is up" I said as Luke got up and gave me a kiss on the cheek before exiting

I sat in my bed, uncomfortable and bored, it was afternoon and sunny outside. All I wanted to do was sit outside.

"Afternoon" Luke said as he came in with flowers and a teddy

"Hello" I replied as I gave him a quick kiss

"How are you?" Luke asked

"Bored, I want to go outside" I replied

"Have you asked the nurses?" Luke questioned

"No, I was waiting for you" I replied

"Nurse" I called as one came in

"Yes Laura" The nurse replied

"Can I go outside?" I asked

"Sure, just use the wheelchair" Nurse replied as Luke got the wheelchair and helped me out of bed carefully putting me in the chair.

As the sun hit my skin I felt happy. Being outside from the icy, cold hospital made the shivers in my spine disapeer

Luke wheeled me out onto the grass where he helped me sit down

"Thanks Luke" I said as I rested on his shoulder

"What's the red tag on your wrist for?" Luke asked as I only just realized there was a red and not a white hospital tag

"I don't know" I replied as I got worried

"I've been looking everywhere for you Laura, we have to take a few scans, when we are finished you can come back outside" the man said

"And who are you?" I asked

"Doctor Leigh" he replied

"Can I have some more time outside first?" I pleaded

"No Laura, you must come inside now" Leigh replied as Luke helped me up and into the wheelchair

"Why is it so urgent?" I asked

"We'll tell you inside" he replied as Leigh began wheeling me back toward the hospital

"So what is it?" I asked as we returned to my room

"Well there is no easy way but as you may well know that you're suffering from anorexia" Leigh said as I looked down at my legs

"I don't, I'm perfectly healthy" I said as I looked up and Luke just looked at me upset

"Laura, please you need to understand what you are doing to yourself" Leigh said

"I'm making myself healthy, just let me be" I said

"When can I be released?" I asked

"When there's been an improvement in your health" Leigh replied

"But I'm fine, can I get released at all today?" I asked

"It will risk your health and as your doctor I can't let you be released Laura" Leigh replied

"So what I'm expected to sit around these four walls and do nothing" I said

"There's plenty here to do Laura, we are moving you to another ward" Leigh said

"Well am I still allowed visitors?" I asked

"Yes as many as you wish, you'll be moved tomorrow" Leigh replied as he got up and left Luke and myself.

"Laura it will be fine" Luke said as he held my hand

"How Luke? I'm not able to go home and look after myself" I said as I began tearing up

"Just have faith in me Laura, everything is going to be fine. You have people that love you and all the support you need whether it's just me or not. I love you Laura" Luke said as I gave him a kiss
