Suddenly, I hear my phone start to ring.

"Great," I mutter, climbing out of bed.

Alex grabs my arm desperately.

"You don't have to pick it up," he says, but he sounds like he's pleading for me to not go pick up the phone.

"I have to. What if it's my mom? She'll think I'm drunk it I don't pick up the phone," I answer, sighing.

Alex lets me go but he still has his pleading eyes. But he stays there, on the bed, watching me.

I run over to my phone.

"Oh no," I mutter.

"What was that, Raven?" Alex calls.

"Nothing!" I shout back.

There's a pause.

"Raven, what is it? Who is it?" Alex demands.

"Blake."

"Hang up on him."

Alex's voice is hard and harsh, suddenly angry.

"I can't. Everything will be too suspicious," I beg, answering the phone.

"Hello? Raven?" I hear Blake say from the other line.

"Hi!" I say cheerfully. "What's up?"

"I heard something yesterday. From Bella, about you. And Alex. I want to talk about it."

My heart skips a beat. How the heck did Bella find out?

"What did you hear?" I say, easily blocking my trembling voice.

Being a Supernatural really comes in handy sometimes.

"That you and Alex are really getting along. Like, a lot. Maybe a bit too much."

I don't answer Blake.

"Raven? Answer me."

"I'm confused. What do you mean? We're friends. Nothing else."

"Bella told me you two are getting very close."

"Well, yes. I mean, I haven't been really social back in L.A. so it was nice to get some new friends and actually get to know them," I respond, wording myself carefully.

Alex can't know about me being a Supernatural.

"Why aren't you talking about being a Supernatural?" Blake demands, suspicion rising in his voice.

"Because I'm over at his room. We're hanging out and talking. He can't know, Blake," I snap, looking over at Alex.

He's still watching me, his eyebrows knitting together. He must have heard. Great.

"Okay, well, I have to go. I'm sorry." I bring my voice down to a whisper. "Alex can't know. You told me so. And if you were lying..."

"Oh, Rave. Don't worry. I would never lie to you. I love you. Have fun. I just...I guess I got kinda worried that you would start to cheat on me," Blake says.

My heart skips a beat again.

"I would never. I love you. Bye," I reply.

I quickly hang up after that. I walk over to Alex and climb back into his arms.

"You're a good liar."

I look up at those blue eyes.

"What did I say?" I ask softly.

Alex shakes his head.

"Nothing," he answers sweetly.

But I know something's wrong. His eyes didn't shimmer.

"What's wrong?" I ask again, a bit more forceful this time.

"I guess it just kinda bothers me that you said that you loved him. But I shouldn't let that bother me. I'm sorry," Alex tells me kindly.

Then, our lips meet. I can feel Alex urging me to let his tongue slip in my mouth, so I let him. I can feel our tongues swirling in eachother's mouths.

"Oh, Alex," I murmur.

That night, we're rolling over on top of eachother and nagging at our undergarments but I don't let him take his or mine off. Even if I'm cheating on Blake, I can't lose my virginity to Alex. I still love Blake, it's just a different kind of love.

"I love you," I whisper, slightly out of breath.

It's way pas 2:00 now.

"I love you too," Alex murmurs, tiredness drowning his voice.

"Go to sleep," I say softly, as I turn myself to look at Alex.

But he's already out like a light. I giggle, plant a light kiss on Alex's lips, and fall asleep in his arms.
