(This is Teal Mesmond)
My parents explained everything that had happened since I was forced into the games. Mom is the Mockingjay once more. Her and Dad have been cooperating with the other districts and are now all on our side. She said that, at first, she despised the idea but that was vastly due to me being held prisoner by the Capitol.
The Capitol.
They've done so much damage.
Caused so much pain and suffering.
The bombing of District 12; the civilization that was already once bombed and rebuild, had once more been repeated with the same betrayal-many more lives being lost. It's sickening that history's repeated itself once more with the cost of the majority of the people on twelves' lives. My thoughts jumped immediately to Teal and her twin Tye, but Mom assured me that they're ok.
"Teal said she's going to visit you soon." Dad said the day after I awoke from my coma.
Apparently, I was in a coma for a year and a seven months.
This truly shocked me. A lot changes in that amount of time and without being present to develop alongside it, the thought of finding out made me anxious. And much has changed.
Now, I'm sixteen years old...almost seventeen.
It's weird to think that I woke up thinking I was fourteen and now I'm not...
Also, the Capitol has finally been deteriorating in power-since all of the district's aren't supplying them anything for the capitalist society to function and no resources what-so-ever. They're now close to breaking point."So what'll happen when the Capitol finally 'break'?" I ask my Dad when Mom went out to the bathroom. It has been on my mind all night, whilst trying to get to sleep, which I didn't get much of. It's only been a day since I awoke, but everything still seems surreal and that I should be in the cell locked up.
"Well-"
Dad gets cut off by a (what I can presume by her clothes) doctor walking into the room, with Mom following behind her. She's wearing a white jacket and has a short, sleek black Bob which compliments her oval face and caramel skin.
"Hello Willow." She smiles, sitting down on the empty chair beside me and Mom walks over to stand beside Dad. "I'm Dr Martinez but you can call me Anna if you'd like."
"Hello Dr Martinez," Dad replies exchanging a polite handshake over the bed I'm lying in. "How are the check up reports on Willow that your team carried out yesterday?"
The thought makes me cringe of it.
Not long after I woke up a bunch of doctors started testing me for countless things and examining me. For some reason, since I've got out of that cell, close contact with certain people freaks me out-it brings back snapshot memories of the needles of pain the Capitol injected into me. I try pushing out any recollection of them nightmares. I don't want to think about it. I don't want it to change me.
I look over to Mom, in hope of seeing reassurance on her face, but saw none. Her expression was worried looking but offered a forced smile when she saw me glance over.
"Well, that's what we came to talk about," she breathes whilst tilting her head, making her stiff hair move with it, as if it was unable to move on its own. "Are you alright with your parents being here?"
"Of course." I reply strait away.
"Ok. We found no major hijacking effects, which is usually the goal of the victim to be tested on to have, such as Peeta's 'episodes' on Willow-"
