Today's the day I say to myself, today's the day I go into the hunger games.

Lanore is putting on a camo green military like jacket to finish off my outfit for the games. The jacket is quite warm, but out there who knows what it will be like.

I look at myself in the mirror at what I'm wearing. A tight black t-shirt, matching camo jacket and trousers with thick brown winter boots.

"I feel like I'm in the army," I sigh to Lanore.

She brushes off my clothes head to toe, "It's to camouflage you out there..." she takes a breath, "to help you."

I just simply nod, too tired to point out that nothing now will help me apart from being pulled out of the games and for them to stop all together.

'Thank you Lanore," I whisper. "For them beautiful dresses that you made for me. Just everything," I start sniffing now about to cry, "thank you."

"Anything for you dear," Lanore smiles at me. "You're worth it." Then hugs me tightly. "Your parents will be wanting to see you." She says letting go of me, feeling stiff as a board.

"Bye," I call out to her.

She nods as if we were going to meet again, which made me feel better. My parents then come bursting strait in after Lanore.

"Baby..." Mom cries through her sobs holding me tightly. "I am so sorry."

"It's not your fault Mom." I reassure her.

"We have something to tell you," Dad confesses. "We should of tried to do more to stop this Willow. Whenever anyone told you me and your Mom where at a meeting, we where really-"

"-trying to stop the games. We've tried everything Willow. It's impossible." Mom smiles sadly.

"It's ok," I say. "You've both tried your best." The both nod not believing me.
"And Mom."

"Yes?"

"Nothing is impossible. Mom, you of all people should know that, you used to tell me all the time." She and Dad smile at this.

"Just remember," my Dad says. "Look only for water. Me and your Mother have found out that there is a couple more twists in these games. If you are dehydrated and try to drink any snow. Don't."

"Why?" I ask him confused. "Wait what? Snow..."

"It will be poisonous most certainly."

Of corse. How could I not have guessed by the name?

"Thirty seconds." The robot voice bellowed, making the almost empty room ecco.

Mom starts crying again and Dad pulls us all into a hug also about to cry also.

"You can do it Willow, you are strong and brave like your Mom." Dad kisses me on the cheek. "Please remember that."

"AND your Dad." Corrected Mom.

"Twenty seconds."

"I cannot," I mumble.

"You can!" They chorus pulling me into another family hug, both kissing me on the cheek again.

"Ten seconds."

I wriggle out of the hug and stand in the small glass tube.

"I can't do it!" I cry to them. "Please! I can't!"

"You can!" Dad shouts to me.

"I know you can baby, you will do it. Don't give up or hesitate out there. If you do something you will regret, remember it's to get home. It won't make you a bad person." I know this part she says is just a lie to make me feel better.

"I will try to make you both proud."

Before they can reply, the lift shakes then starts rising which sends both Mom and Dad in more tears.

" I love you," I sob, mouthing.

"We love you too." They mouth back, it's easier not to talk at all.

I stare at them until they are not in sight, then crouch on the floor for a last glance of there faces-

-then darkness.

The tube speeds up for about ten seconds then reaches a blindingly glowing light.

I look around at the surroundings around me while wiping off my trailing tears.

This place is strange.

It has snowy mountains on the left side and on the right, thick overgrown rainforest trees are cramped together. It looks like a forest which would be impossible to escape from.

The platforms are layered out in a large...triangle. Nearly every other tribute is also looking around franticly, who are also probably scared stiff.

Before the announcer begins, a small girl with long light brown hair in a ponytail leaps from the platform which explodes, making her remains shoot everywhere. It was like a bloody erupting bomb.

This made me shiver. The girls bones had mainly passed and splatted a career I think. I couldn't tell from the far distance I was at.

"You have thirty seconds," the announcer clears his throat.

I'm so sorry for the short chapter...but it had to be done:/
