I quickly get up off the grass, the shooting pain gone. I aim my bow and shoot the girls arm, making her flinch away from Drakob.

"Ah, you little-" Before she can finish her sentance, Drakob retrieves her sword and stabs her in the chest several times until she crumbles to the floor. Dead.

The cannon then goes off, marking the girls death.

Then a boy comes running over, this time holding a small knife rushing to Drakob while his back is turned, due to him stabbing the career girl one last time. I shoot him in the head also before he approached Drakob.

Another cannon goes off.

"She must not off been alone," Drakob does not reply and looks down at the bodies. "And they are both Careers. Cousins. His name is Penrith."

"Good," he spat at the bodies. "And thanks for that. Saving my life."

"You saved mine too. I guess I owed you one."

"At least I've got a weapon now instead of that useless spear." Drakob examines the sword. "And that's two more gone."

"Who died Drakob? Did you see the anthem play last night, since I missed it."

"Yeah. I've been counting," he paused to think. "So thirteen died on the first day and yesterday one and today, another two."

"So that's sixteen," I stand back taking in the infomation. "They're only eight left already."

It was quite hard to comprehend that in a matter of a couple of days, sixteen people had died around me. I had killed three of them. The girl I shot in the eye, the boy from nine with them deafening eyes and that girl before who was a career. I can recognise her from the interview and in training.

Her name is Pansell.

She was the one with the hourglass figure and dark hair, laughing at my attempt to lift a weight. Along with two other boys.

Admitivly, I was quite happy to get back at her.

"Do you know who's alive? Is Autumn?"

"Yeah." I was so happy to hear this. "At least I think so, I never so her on the anthems at any of the nights. Did you?" he questioned.

"I missed both of the anthems. I was asleep on the first night before they played it."

"Oh, well yes she's alive."

"Good," I smile.

"Do you want to ally with her Willow?" He looks pîssed.

"So? Why do you care?"

"I'm not gonna ally with her," he says bluntly. "I don't see the point of allying with anyone else, we are just going to be killing them. A back stabbed to look out for."

He was so hypercritical!

"What about me?" He pauses, "you allied with me, didn't you?! Not that I would call it that exactly."

"But you're from my district Willow. You are the only one that I wanted to ally with."

"Whatever Drakob," I turn away from him then pick up my healing creme putting it in my bag. I then look around the forest for a decent tree to climb.

I see a vast tree with a very large tree trunk. It looks perfect to climb and the large masses of leaves will help hide us from anyone passing by.

"Up there." I point to the tree, "let's climb that for you to get some rest." I look back to Drakob. His eyes are outlined with dark violet rings from lack of sleep. "You really need it Drakob."

We climb the tree and a perfect wide flat branch to sit and lie on.

"Here," I hand him my sleeping bag. "Go to sleep. I'll look for some fresh water for when you wake up."

My mouth felt dry as a bone and whenever I spoke, a lump stuck like glue to my throat. I am severely dehydrated, Drakob must be too. His facial expression tells me.

"No. You need to rest too. You're not well still." He checks my cut again. "Give that more time to heal properly."

"I'm fine now. I won't be long." I start to get up but Drakob pulls me back down. "Stop thinking of excuses!"

"Please," is Drakob begging? Drakob?! "Please just stay with me. I...want to...protect you incase anyone comes."

"Drakob White wants to protect me? Is there actually a real guy behind that 'false act'?" I make fun of him.

"What act?" He goes defensive now for some reason.

"The whole, 'I-don't-care-what-anything-thinks-about-me-I-hate-everyone-and-I'm-such-a-downer-on-everything. Your outlook on life really Drakob."

"I don't care though. Why would that be an act?"

"Well why do you seem so keen on protecting me then?"

"Because..."

"...Because?" He does not answer. I know that there is something going on with him.

But what is it?

"Just go to sleep." I say after a long, painful silence. "I won't go." I sigh frustrated. "I'll wait."

"Promise?" Why is he so desperate for me to stay with him?

"Promise."

In less than a minuite, he falls asleep not making a sound.

I wait a few minutes before getting the long rope out of my bag and secure a tight knot around the tree and Drakobs waist. Then I retrieve my now empty litre bottle and bow and arrows then climb down the tree quietly, not to wake him up from sleeping.

He should of known that I was lying.

After wandering around the forest, keeping track of how far I was away from the tree, I look for some fresh water, since me and Drakob are desperately in need of it. I don't think he had drank anything since before we came into the games.

"There has to be some water somewhere, there just has to be," I mutter to myself, looking around the forest.

And then as if by luck, I see a small mossy mountain (the same height as the trees) blending in with the surroundings. It has a small waterfall, the water falling in the pond which looks clear unlike at the snowy mountains water which was murky and brown. Hopefully I won't need to use my last water purifier sachet.

A girl with short burgundy hair is kneeling down, washing her face in the water.

I hold my bow up at her ready to shoot. The girl then stops what she's doing, as if she can sense my presence then quickly turns around and sees me about to shoot her.

Before I let go she shouts, "Willow!"

It's Autumn.
