I could hear trees rustling and the sound of birds singing.
Someone was softly stroking my hair, making my eyes shoot open and back away defensively. It was Drakob who was stroking my hair.
His eyes fixed to me.
"That girl, she-" I pant scared still thinking back to that moment. "Drakob?"
"It's ok Willow, I killed her. She didn't kill you."
"I know, I saw." The viewing of it was distorting.
I try standing up since leaning on a tree wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world, but the pain on the right side of my hip is stopping me. This makes me cry out in pain.
"Woah, stay down." Drakob locks his hands to my shoulders, pushing me back down. "You are in no fit state to go anywhere. Stay down." His voice is demanding with a hint of actual emotion in it. Did he actually care of my well being?
I look around the surrounding to realise that we are no longer at the freezing cold snowy mountians. Instead, we are in the forest. The weather is much more soothing and the place is relaxing even, despite it being a scary place.
"How long have I been unconscious for?" I ask Drakob.
"Well, you passed out last night and I'm guessing it's the afternoon now."
"Oh. So how did you get here carrying me? We were nowhere near the forest before."
"Well you're not heavy you know." He joked. "But I have been carrying you and walking into the forest all of last night.
"How long did it take?"
"I only got here a couple of minutes ago."
"So...you haven't slept all night?" He answers by nodding his head. "You must be shattered. Get some rest. I can keep watch but we cannot stay here, we need to find somewhere safer." I look around in the thick forest for somewhere. Anywhere. Then I remembered my Mom and Dad in the 74th Games. Mom always stayed and slept in trees for a lot of the time. It may be our only option in here. "So can you remember my Mom in the games always climbing trees? Since we always had to watch my parents highlights at school."
"Yeah, what about it?" I felt quite honoured talking about my parents like this. To know how brave and fearless in the games.
"Well how about we go in the trees to sleep in while we are here?" I suggest to Drakob.
He nods again. "Sounds like a plan." Drakob gets up from his knees.
I try and get up also but the pain on my right shoots up my body, holding me back again.
"Here let me have a look at what's hurting you," Drakob try's to pull up my top slightly, but I flinch and push away. He chuckles again at me. "Trust me Willow." I move away my arm and let him have a look.
"I think it's somewhere near my hip." I look down at him examining it.
"Willow," he says in shock.
"What? Is it bad?" He doesn't answer me so I look down at it.
There is a chunk of skin on the very side of my hip inflamed and red. It hurts badly.
The arrow must of skimmed my hip but pulled off a chunk of my skin, as I ducked it.
"Oh," I say quite shocked myself. I had no idea it was that bad. I look back at Drakob and he is still staring at my deep cut also.
"You need some creme. Anything to heal it, or else it will be infected." Drakob put his hand below my chin, lifting my head up slightly. "That cut on your chin already looks like it's starting to get infected...and is that-"
"-blood." I interrupt. "It's the boy that I killed."
"Wow, you're not in the best state already, are you?" I laugh at his words. Even though this was definitely a situation to not be laughing at, it helped me forget what was happening for a second and where we were for a moment.
He was right, I am in bad condition already. How am I ever going to win or even survive this?
Before any of us say anything else, a shiny, silver parachute whistles down, getting trapped in the thick rustling trees. Drakob immediately jumps up the tree and grabs it, swinging down the branch, back onto his feel smoothly, making it look easy.
"This must be for your cuts," he opens the small container, to find about a handful of creme, it reminds me of that silly putty kids play with when they're little.
With two fingers, Drakob scoops up a chunk of creme then softly applies it to my chin. The stinging sensation calms down immediately. Then, he applies a second lot to my hip, giving a generous amount to it. The pain also immediately calms down, as if by magic.
"Better?" He asks. I nod my head already feeling much better. "Here," Drakob hands me a bow and about 20 arrows in a bag, looking untouched. "It's the girls' arrows."
"Thank you." I accept the arrow, flexing the elastic on the bow, it was a good one.
Suddenly out of nowhere, a girl comes running over and before I can react, she holds a long, shining sword to Drakob's neck.
She laughs at me, "My, my. What do we have here then?"
