It Autumn!
She smiles pleased to see me. I am still holding my aim at her. Her smile quickly fades.
"Willow." She gulps loudly. "Are you...going to shoot me?"
Am I? Am I going to shoot her?
Like Drakob said, there would be one less person in my way from winning but for some reason I didn't think of Autumn like that. But she was one of the few true friends that I have ever made, even if I only knew her for a week.
I've never really been close to anyone in my life except for my parents and Teal who was my only friend at school. She was the only one who really understood me and didn't only talk to me because of my parents.
Oh God I miss Teal.
"I-I don't know." I keep my aim still, not sure what to do.
"Go ahead," she lowers her raised arms. "Shoot me. My best friend Rae is dead anyway."
This made me feel so bad. Of course I know her friend is dead, I killed him for crying out loud!
I killed him.
I lower my bow in the guilt that I'm feeling.
"Are you going to kill me?" I shake my head and walk over to the water. She looks at my bottle, "it's clean. I've had some." I nod and then silently fill up my bottle of water gulping it down in one go then filling it up again for Drakob. "You must be very thirsty," she laughs.
"Yeah," I take another sip. The cool taste is soothing my sore, crackly throat.
"Are we allies then?" She asks. Before I can answer a cannon goes off.
Could this be-
"DRAKOB!" I shout running back to the tree.
"Wait!" Autumn calls out, "you left your bow!" I ignore her, I'm guessing that she's picked it up and is following me.
"DRAKOB!" I call out again. No answer. "Drakob!" Salt water is filling my eyes now.
Running and running hoping it's not him that's dead. He was sleeping, so someone could of crept up the tree and killed him.
Please don't be dead! Don't be dead dammit!
I keep running, branches whacking and scratching my face at every corner I take. But I don't care, I need to see if Drakob is alive. To see if it was him.
"Drakob! Drakob! Drakob!" I shout at the top of my lungs. "Drakooooooooooobbbbbbb!" Still no answer.
I'm at the tree now. I've made it back. I need to go up and see him.
"Drakob!" I call out one last time then start climbing up the tree.
I can see my bag and the rope I tied on the trunk where Drakob was. His head is leaning on the tree. Rushing over, I shake him hardly.
"Don't be dead," I cry out, "don't be dead."
His head suddenly jerks up, "what's with all that shouting Willow? You woke me up! Are you trying to kill me?" He smiles.
For once I'm actually happy to see his stupid face.
"I'm-I'm," I wipe away my tears still crying. "So happy to see you. The cannon went off and I thought you were dead."
"Willow-" He hugs me tightly. This makes me realise how big Drakobs muscles are. "...you're so silly. Of corse I'm not dead. Whoever tries to kill me in my sleep would know about it, believe me."
