*5 YEARS LATER*
(15 YEARS AFTER REBELLION)
Katniss P.O.V
The days are getting shorter, winter is approaching.
I looked out of the large, square window to see crisp copper brown and ruby red leaves blowing in the wind. The thick, dark grey clouds are overlapping one another, making the sky a murky grey hiding the sun.
Peeta was still at the bakery and it had just gone five, why was he so late? He was never late. My stomach felt knotted and tight-I could feel myself starting to get worried now, something didn't feel right. Damn it Peeta.
"Mom?" Asked Willow, "where's Dad at? He's always back before four normally."
"I don't know...should we go to the bakery and see whats taking him so long?" I offered.
"Yea lets go!" She yells running out of the door exsighted to see her Dad.
Willow loved going to see Peeta at the bakery, she finds it facinating how everything is made and loves the smell of the cakes, cookies and bread baking in the oven. So do I.
"Wait! You need your jacket on, it's too cold to go out in that dress." I pointed out.
"Awww. Ok." She moans pulling a face and walked with her head down towords me.
"You're such a drama queen Willow." I laugh putting her dark blue winter parka on. "There much better, now you wont freeze to death." I add as she rolls her ocean blue eyes that are the double of Peeta's, "right, lets go."
I am putting on my own winter jacket as we are walking out of our house, when I open the door and Haymitch is standing on the doorstep-suprisingly without a drink in his hand clutching the door handle. Haymich was well into his sixties now and was suprisingly not dead, considering the amount of alcohol he has consumed throughout his life. Most would of thought he would be by now. But nothing could kill him, he had bearly even aged a single day for the last twenty years.
"Whoa Katniss talk about timing." He chuckled and only slightly smelled of drink today, this was a promising sign. But his laugh seemed too fake and high pitched, not right. He stopped and saw me and Willow with our coats on. "Where are you two going?"
"Well-" I start saying, about to make up a lie to avoid 21 questions with Haymitch.
"-To the bakery. Dad is not home yet and its getting late." Willow stated, interrupting me as I was speaking.
"Hey!" I hiss abit too coldly at her.
"But we are," she replies innocently.
"No you're not." Says Haymitch walking into my house and into the sitting room.
"What are you doing? We need to go and see Peeta!" I protested following him.
"No. You need to take a look at this." Says Haymich sitting on the sofa pulling my arm to sit next to.
"See what?"
He does not reply and turns on the TV with the remote onto channel 1 where all the Capitol highlights are broadcasted.
"Look, I really don't have time for the news Haymi-." I stop abrubtly and see a small, thin man on TV making a speech about 'dictatorship' he is strange looking and has a black tux on with a rose in the upper tux pocket. I gasp with shock. "He looks just like..." I cannot say the name, thought of it made me shiver.
"Snow. It's not him since he's dead obviously and if he wasn't he would not of got 50 years younger..." Haymitch says sarcasticly being much more quiet than usual.
