Willow's P.O.V

"So why am I here then?" I ask sitting opposite Mom and Dad looking down a my short, bitten nails.

They had called me in for a 'talk'. Her and Dad both looked stirn and serious.

"Me and your Mom have to go to the capitol,' Dad says quickly. Him and Mom are looking at each other uncertanly.

"What?!" I say angry, "thats not fair Mom you've already went away!"

"Yes but this for an important reason-"

"-It always is, isent it?!" I stand up yelling, "and Dad too?" Mom bit her lip looking worried.

"I don't have a choice Willow." He got up off his chair to stand up also, "I, we wish we could tell you why."

"And why carn't you?!"

"Because as me and your Mom have said before Willow, its for your own good."

"The hell it is." I mumble storming out the house, slamming the door behind me.

I am so sick of them and there lame excuses, I cannot take listening to them anymore.

I run and run as far as I can away from them. Away from the victors village. I didn't know what I was doing, so I went to the most calming place for me on District 12-The medow field where my Mom used to take me when I was little.

When I finally arrived there the sunny sky lit up the grass and made the flowers shine brightly, showing their many diffrent colours: blue's, yellow's, pink's, purple's, lilac's and red's. It looked so beautiful. I went and sat down by the large weeping willow tree- which I was named after.

The tree's long, thin branches bent downwards making the graceful, flowing weeping willow tree's leaves acted like curtins blocking out the harsh summer sunlight. Sitting, leaning on this fifty foot tree taking in my surrondings, everything about this landscape is perfect.

"Willow?" I heard a distanced voice shouting, "Willow!"

I stood up to see closer, and it was my Mom running to the willow tree.

"What are you doing here?" I shout back at the top of my lungs.

Mom was the fastest runner I've ever seen-well except from my Dad.

"Don't-ever-do-that-again!" She panted out of breath when she got to the willow tree.

"I don't want you guys to go to the Capitol without me!" I sulked crossing my arms, pouting my lips, this made my Mom giggle.

"Willow your such a madom, come here," Mom grabbed my shoulders and hugged tightly. Mom isnt really a 'hugs' kind of person, she normally has problems showing her emotions. "I havent hugged you in ages..." She says, finally letting go of me.

I just respond with a, "Mhh."

"You were named after this tree you know, or have I told you that already?" She circled the tree touching the bark.

"I know, you've told me loads..."

"Yeah. When I was having you, me and your Father would come here every day because of how beautiful it was-is and to remember the things that...happened here." She sighs, "anyways, we were talking about names and the first thing I thought of was Willow and I fell in love with the name instantly." Her eyes are sparkling now.

"I know Mom." She rolls her eyes at me.

"You probably don't think much about that, but they were my one of my favaroute memories, best time's of my life." She looks down smiling at herself. "It's our nirvana."

I didn't want to admit it to her, but I secretly loved it when she talked about her and Dad's life before I was born.

"What about now?" I ask curiously, "Is now not good?"

She hesitated at my question, "Now is good Willow, why wouldn't you think that it wasn't?" She gives an unreassuring laugh. "Will you come home with me now? Dinner will be ready soon." She says quickly changing the subject

"I would rather stay here."

"Please Willow, for me?" I can see the sadness in her eyes, she lookes so upset so I can not say no. I would feel too guilty.

"Ok," I give in.

"Great! Let's go and get some food." Mom claps her hands.

We start walking back home to the victors village through the meadow.

"You know what? Since I-we havent been here in so long how about me, you and Peeta bring our dinner and eat it here, like a picnic." Well she hasn't been here in ages, "Yes a picnic, thats a good idea."

"Are you feeling fine Mom?"

"Yes, Willow just fine. Why do you ask?"

"Just...wondering." She seemed really strange and off for some reason.

We were walking through the town now and passing some small shops and arriving to the victors village. The people we were passing were from the seam, the poorest part of district 12. Me, Mom and Dad would give the family's bread and other types of food like meat to them because most were so underfed and poor. The respected us for this and always showed gratitude to us.

When we arrived home I could here the TV buzzing in the other room.

"Hello? Peeta are you here?" Mom shouted.

"KATNISS!" Dad shouted running to Mom hugging her, his eyes seemed red. Haymitch followed through and stood by the double door frame not looking happy either.

"What's going on Peeta?" Mom asked.

"Were not going to the Capitol anymore Katniss."

"Why Peeta? We have to go," she emphasised the words strongly, "you know that."

Dad sealed his lips tightly and shaked his head.

"What we feared has happened Katniss," Haymitch broke in. "Kenneth has taken over as President of Panem and has some how make it back into a dictatorship. The Capitol are set on him now and think he is out there to make Panem a better place, but of course he isn't. Just revenge...on...you Katniss."

"What?" I burst out, "Does that mean-"

"-The Hunger Games." Mom interrupted. Her eyes were full of fear and her face was pouring with a waterfall of tears.

No one said anything because everyone already knew the answer.

"Then we have to pack a bag each and get out of here now. I'm not letting this happen to Willow, she's not going in them." Mom said rushing around looking for a bag. Dad grabbed her arm stopping her. "Let off Peeta." Mom pushed away his hand.

"It's too late. Kenneth has already announced the Hunger Games reaping for tomorrow at noon. There is peace keepers guarding all borders for people escaping and the punishment is instant death. We have no choice."

"We can still not take her to the reaping."

"You know we cannot do that! They will be checking for all names, espeshly Willow's. The peace keepers will drag us out there."

"But..." she trailed off. Mom couldn't stop crying, her face what bright red.

"Don't worry Mom. I doubt I will get chosen." I reassure her and give her a hug.

In the pit of my stomach I don't believe my own words.

"I'm s-sorry." Haymitch stammered, "you have no idea how much I wish I could stop this all and kill that Kenneth."

"We do." Dad whispered.

Now is not good. It's the worst it's ever been.
