Chapter 38

Spencer POV

"Detective Tanner, what can you tell us about the ongoing investigation?"

"All I can say right now is, we have 4 suspects who will be questioned soon"

"How did you find the body?"

"An anonymous tip and my team worked to find the body. That's all I can say"

Emily turned off her TV and we all sat silently for a few seconds. "Four suspects, you guys is that us?" Hanna said, asking the question we were all thinking.

"Well, an ill bet my life that anonymous tip was from A, which would mean yeah, that's us"

A:"Oh my freaking god. You guys were going to end up in jail"

E:"Aria just relax, if we get taken into the station we just have to tell the truth"

A:"oh the truth okay? Like we got messages to go find Ian's body from our psycho stalker A, who has been torturing us since Alison's death and we dug Ian's body up and then buried him again because he was dead and then we didn't say anything to anyone, because if that's the truth you wanna tell, we will definitely still end up in jail"

We all just stared wide eyed in Arias direction. She was right.

E:"yeah okay, so what do we do?"

H:"I have no idea."

"Me either"

We all just sat trying to think of how we could get ourselves out of this mess. Then Emily's door rang.
We all looked at each other and then she stood up and peeked out the window to see who was their. "Shit. It's tanner" Emily exclaimed. "What do I do what do I do?"

"Emily just answer the door. She knows we are in here"

We all stood up and walked to the door. Emily opened it. "Detective Tanner, can I help you?"

"Yes actually Emily, I need you to come to the station, you three aswell"

"Why?"

"It's about the Ian Thomas case. We will discuss everything at the station, the cars running, we need to go now"

We all looked at each other;we were all so scared. We tried not to let it show but it wasn't working. We all walked out of Emily's house and walked to the police car that was at the bottom of her drive.

The whole car journey no one spoke. The only sound was the sound of the engine and every few minutes someone would say some strange code thing through the radio.

It was about 4:00 when we finally went into the interrogation room. We all went in together because Tanner wanted to talk to all of us before she questioned us individually. We still had no idea what we were going to say to her. We all sat down and my hands were shaking. "Does anyone want a drink?" She asked, trying to be nice. None of us spoke. "Girls, you don't need a lawyer to say yes or no to coffee." Still no one spoke. "Okay then. I have something to show you"

She turned her back and walked over to the computer that was connected to the screen on the wall. We all looked at one another and we all knew what she was going to show us. She tapped the keys on her computer keyboard and he face changed. She was getting angry. After a few minutes, she opened the door. "Sam I need your help" she yelled out of the door. Then she came back in and a young man walked in after her. He must have been some sort of IT guy or something. "What do you need me to find?"

"File 3900. It was right there but now it's gone."

"Okay, there will be a duplicate copy right...here" he said whilst clicking a button ok the left hand of the keyboard. "Hmmmm" he said afterwards. "Wow wow wow what's happened. Everything in this file has deleted. There nothing on the Ian Thomas case, all the evidence is gone"

"How the hell does that happen?"

"It's like someone's wiped the drive"

"Well that's impossible"

"I know, but it's gone."

"You have got to be kidding me" Tanner whispered to herself whilst holding her head in her hands. "Girls, you can go. The evidence I had is gone, and I can't hold you here without any concrete evidence"

We all looked at each other amazed and stood up to walk out.
We got outside and our phones buzzed straight away.
