Chapter 39

Emily POV

I walked out of the girls bathroom and saw Maya standing at her locker at the bottom of the hallway. I strolled over and hugged her from behind. "Hey babe" I whispered in her ear.

"Hey Hun, you okay?"

"I am now" I said whilst kissing her then grabbing her hand. We walked down the hallway

"I'm so excited to watch you swim tonight"

"Really? I'm kinda nervous"

"Don't you do swim meets like every week or something?"

"Well yeah but there's scouts coming tonight. It's the best chance for me to get a scholarship"

"Ohhhhhhhh right. Well you'll be fine. Your amazing and to be honest who wouldn't want you?"

I smiled and looked deep into her eyes. "Thank you" I said softly.

"What for?"

"For helping me to be believe in myself and helping me be a better person"

"Oh Em your so cute"

We both giggled and then the bell went. She was in Chem, and I was in English so I walked her to her classroom. I kissed her and we said goodbye. "See you at lunch?"

"Yeah"

I continued walking down the almost empty corridor and saw the girls around the corner. "Hey guys, you ok-"

Just as I started to talk the speakers in the hallway turned on and an announcement started sounding. We were the only people in the hallway at this point.

'Could the following students please report to the principals office- Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, Spencer Hastings and Aria Montgomery'

"You have got to be kidding me" Hanna sighed as we all rolled our eyes and turned around in the other direction towards the principals office. "What do they think we've done now?" she continued.

We got to the principals office and sat on the bench outside. "You can come in now girls" the principal said as he opened the door for us. We all looked at each other and wondered what was going on, until we walked in and it all became clear.

"Good morning ladies" Detective Tanner said with a smirky look on her face. We all just looked at her and didn't speak. "Girls, I've come to apologise for what happened the other day. And I've also come to tell you you aren't suspects in this case anymore, actually this case has been closed."

S:"what does that mean? Have you figured out what happened to Ian?"

DT:"yes actually. We recovered the body and found a bullet wound in the lower abdomen. The loss of blood caused his death and finger prints that we are still tracing were found on the body. You girls were ruled out of the investigation. However, you still found a body and didn't report anything so you each have 200 hours of community service that you have to do."

"Great. Can we go?" I asked sternly not in the mood for this whole mess.

"Yes you can go...but girls one piece of advice, don't be in the wrong place at the wrong time"

She smirked and watched us as we all stood up and walked out.

A:"community service. I can live with that"

"200 hours of it"

H:"Hey it's better than jail"

S:"yeah your right. It's okay girls, all we will have to do is work in the call centre for a month and it'll be over."
