Hanna POV
It was the day before prom and everything was starting to take shape. I was in charge or the prom committee so for the rest of the day I got to tell people what to do, which is always fun. Aria and Emily were hanging up banners and Spencer was painting the displays. This prom was going to be amazing and no one, especially A, was going to ruin it for us.
Emily POV
"What's up Em? You seem sad" Aria said to me whilst we hung up the banners for Hanna. "It's just, I called Maya again last night and...it's just...I feel like she's moved on"
"Emily, Maya loves you okay? And long distance is hard. Just talk to her, tell her how you feel. You guys will work through this okay?"
I nodded and smiled at Arias kind and reassuring words; she always new how to make me feel better. She was such an amazing friend to me, just like Hanna and Spencer too.
"Oooo, look!" She said pointing over at Spencer. She was stood with Toby, being all flirty and cute. I smiled at watched wide eyed as they talked and laughed together. It made me miss Maya more.
Spencer POV
"What colour dress are you wearing?" Toby asked me whilst I looked at him confused "I wanna know what colour dress your wearing so that when I go to get a suit later we can match"
"Toby, you don't have to spend money on a stupid prom. I know how hard you work and I don't want you to spend it on me"
"Spencer, I want to do this, okay?" He said whilst grabbing my hands and looking into my eyes. "I'm wearing a silver strapless dress." His eyes widened and he smirked at me. Then he kissed me, and said goodbye. I smiled and felt so happy in that moment. I turned around to keep painting and saw Emily and Aria staring straight at me smiling. I blushed and looked away. I couldn't wait to spend prom with Toby now.
Emily POV
"Hey, do you think you can manage by yourself? I have swim practice"
"Yeah of course Em, have fun"
"Thanks"
I walked off to the girls locker rooms and got changed. I couldn't wait to get in the pool, it felt like so long since I'd swam.
Once I divided in a started I felt so free. I wasn't thinking about anything else. I just swam. As fast as I could, not to beat anyone, just to burn of steam. I raced until I finished my lap and climbed out, quite a few seconds before anyone else. I realised I'd been swimming faster then I thought. Then coach came over to me. "Emily, you just smashed the record! Well done. It's so good to have you back" I smiled as she walked away, and then Paige climbed out behind me. "Wow Emily, it's a practice not a meet. It's good to have you back"
"Thanks" I replied and walked back to the locker rooms. I got changed and was drying my hair at the mirror when Paige walked round the corner with a bag of gifts for everyone. "Listen up please girls! Everyone here is a dedicated member of this swim team. And I truly believe that this season we will be the best of the best. So these gifts are just a token of my dedication to the sharks" she handed out little boxes to everyone and the coach walked round the corner. "That's nice Paige but I'm here about swimming not fashion. I would like everyone to congratulate Emily on breaking a record today." Everyone started clapping and cheering. Everyone except Paige. I don't know why but she really didn't like me. I didn't think anything of it and continued to get ready as everyone else started to leave. Then it was only me and her left. I could see her glaring at me out the corner of my eye. "Congratulations on your record Em! Break anymore and we will have to test you for doping" she sarcastically joked about.
