Emily POV
It was two days after the whole Ian thing, and we hadn't heard anything from A. No threatening messages, no letters, no bad things happening. It was too quiet, which worried me. I got to school and met the girls at Hanna's locker. "Hey" I said calmly as I walked over to them. "Any news?" Spencer said straight away as her wide eyes stared right at me. She was so intense sometimes. "No. Silence" I replied.
A:"same from us"
H:"it's probably because As planning to send us to jail or just kill us all or something"
"Yeah Han, your not really making the situation better"
H:"well its not like As going to be planning anything good. I'm just stating the obvious"
A:"well yeah, but I'd like to hope we won't die"
Hanna rolled her eyes at Aria as the bell went. We all walked to class and the rest of the day was pretty normal. Normal, boring classes, normal lunch, just plain old normal. It was nice, that's how my life should be, but it just felt strange, it felt like I was missing something, and I was constantly thinking about the next really bad thing that was going to happen.
I got home after swim practice at about 5 o'clock and my mom was sat on the couch with a cup of tea. "Hey honey" she smiled. "Hey" I replied. Yes, me and my mom are friends again. Shes come around to the whole idea of me liking girls. She doesn't love it, but she's warming to the idea. Although there isn't really much going on in my love life at the moment. I could tell she wanted to tell me something. "Is everything okay?" She was staring into the distance and she didn't reply. "Mom?"
"Oh yeah sorry honey. I'm fine it's just-"
"Is it dad?"
"Yeah."
My heart sunk and I felt sick straight away. My dads been in the army since before I was born. I didn't see him much. Whenever my mom said she had to tell me something, I always assumed the worst. "Mom what's happened to him?" I asked sternly.
"Oh honey, don't worry he's fine. It's just, his base is being moved to Texas, and he wants us to live there"
"What? Mom what about school and my friends and swimming. I was planning on getting into Danby on a scholarship this year, I can't do that if I'm not even here"
"Emily I know. And I've been thinking about it and I'm going to let you stay here. To finish this year"
"Thank you so much mom!" I said whilst sitting down next to her and hugging her.
"It's okay. But you won't be able to live here Em. I can't afford to pay for two houses."
"Oh-kay, so where am I going to live?"
"Well I was talking to Ashley about it this morning and she said you can stay in her guest room."
"Really? Okay, are you sure about this mom?"
"Yeah, this is what you want but I'm going to miss you when I leave"
"Me too. When are you leaving?"
"Next week. We already have an offer on the house but they can't move in for a month so you can stay here till then and you have time to pack up your things."
"Okay"
Then She looked at me and smiled as a tear fell down her cheek. "Mom what's wrong?"
"It's just...your so grown up. Your not my little girl anymore"
"I'll always be your little girl mom. Love you" I said as I hugged her.
"Hey, I'm going to go to Hannas and thank Mrs Marin for offering me her guest room"
