Chapter 44

Hanna POV

It was the day of prom and i was nervous. Partly because I still had no idea what I was wearing but mostly because after tonight we could stop A. If everything goes to plan, spencer could find something important and we could finally have something to use against A, which is something we have never had.

I just can't help but think the worst. I mean we don't have the best track record for plans working well, and every time we try to do something it backfires and ends up biting us in the ass. Emily's right, it's risky and it's not easy, but Spencer's right too, we can't just sit around and not do anything.

I woke up this morning and it's all I've been thinking about since. I went over to the girls at lunch. "Hey girls" I said sighing and sitting down. "Hey" they all replied and continued there conversation. "So do you think you'll be able to keep Toby busy too?" Spencer asked. "Yeah" aria replied. "Okay. Guys if this works everything will be over, we will get our lives back."

Me and Aria smiled a small smile and Emily just looked down. She was still abit sceptical about the whole plan but she was willing to help. Spencer noticed she was quiet. "Em, I'm sorry we couldn't stop A before Maya died, but you know she would want you to be happy, and after tonight you will have a chance at happiness. We all will." Emily looked up towards Spencer "thanks Spence" she said softly.

"Okay I have a really important question?" I whined. The girls all looked towards me and their eyes widened. "What are you guys wearing tonight?" I continued.
They all sighed and rolled their eyes at me. "What? It's important."

S:"yeah Han, but we were expecting you to ask about A or something"

"Yeah sorry whatever. But seriously you guys?"

A:"I have two dresses. I have that black one that's all sparkly and puffy at the bottom. Or I have the red off the shoulder one. My red mask is nicer than the black one though"

"Oooo go red" me Spencer and Emily all said at the exact same time. "I guess I'll go red then" she said. "Em?" I asked.

"I have that blue backless one. I'll just wear that with that sparkly silver mask" Emily replied, not sounding bothered at all.

"Okay nice. What about you Spencer?"

S:"it's like really dark grey, almost black strapless. I'll have to borrow one of Melissa's masks because I don't have one of my own"

A:"how is she since you know?

Melissa lost her baby last week. I know that it was Ian's and we hated that guy so much, but what happened to her is just awful. She loved Ian. Spencer said how she would always say "this baby is the only thing I have left of Ian." Apparently she hasn't left the house since she found out the news. "She's a mess" Spencer said. We talked about it for a few minutes and then returned to our original conversation.

I sighed. "You are all going to look unreal and I have nothing to wear at all."

A:"sure you do Hanna. What about that nude backless dress with sparkles on the front. That one is gorgeous. You should wear that"

"Hmmmmm. I forgot about that actually. Thanks aria"

S:"Hanna you've got to many clothes for your own good"

"No. No. No, spencer you can never have to many clothes"

All the girls burst out laughing at what I'd said. They always seemed to laugh at me, but I didn't mind. After all I'm a very funny person.

Emily POV

It was about 7 o'clock when I started getting ready for the dance. Spencer was picking me up just before eight. I had about an hour, but I didn't need that much time to get ready. I sat on the bed and just looked into space. Just as I was enjoying the silence, Hanna burst in and disrupted it. "I need your help massively" she said loudly.
