*ACE'S POV*

Cora, Cam, Danalrie, Seven and I were all seated in my room with our hands in our pockets trying not to look too awkward.

"How are we supposed to pull this off?" Cam said standing up and starting to pace.

"You're creating a draft." Danalrie huffed.

He glared at her before sitting back down and looking at me.

"What do you say we do?"

"Why me?"

"You're our leader," Seven said out of nowhere.

"You're cute," I muttered with a fake laugh. "I'm not cut out for this. How am I supposed to lead a rebellion?"

"Why are you asking us. You're the first crazy son of a gun to go against the council. You've inspired us, so grow some balls and tell us what to do, chief," Cora said looking at me.

I sighed in defeat. "We each need to have some sort of role. If I'm the leader, I pronounce Seven my partner in crime," he nodded in honor. "Danalrie and Cam are the best fighters and need to organize the people who fight where and when. Cora, you're the brains. Hack into Clouds system and see if you can get any information that we can use. Weaknesses or hidden rooms. Anything."

"What's our goal here, Ace?" Danalrie asked.

"To set up a place free of a central rule. No more association, no more authority for vampires and hunters. We live like regular people instead of having 'special' treatment. We can protect the people we love without fearing Cloud's hand on their head and Croatia's silent judgement. We will be free."

They all nodded and smiled in agreement before Cam sat next to me and put his arm over my shoulder.

"And you said you weren't cut up to be a leader."

********************************************

I walked to each one of my classes in silence not making eye contact with anyone, or trying not to. If I were to see Fin...I'd have one heck of a time trying not to kill him.

"Promise me..."

I couldn't say no to her. There was no way.

I put my books in my locker and tried to quickly make it to my class, but being that's what I wanted to happen, that's exactly what didn't happen.

I bumped into someone and hit the floor to pick up their books before locking eyes with some emerald green ones.

"Williams," I muttered handing her the books.

"I didn't have anything to do with what Fin did to Kara if that's why you were ticked."

I sighed. "I know you didn't. I just want some sort of idea as to why he did it."

"Maybe he was thirsty."

"Don't get smart with me."

"I don't hate you, Ace. You love her. You'd do anything for her, but I feel exactly the same and being that you abandoned her for years...I'm surprised I haven't nailed you in the face for all it's worth. I don't know though and for your sake and Kara's...I think it's best you didn't."

I saw her point. If I knew, I'd only want to kill him more and Kara wouldn't forgive me...that's not true, but I wouldn't forgive myself. She'd try to get me to on a daily basis like she always does, but I wouldn't budge.
