*ACE'S POV*
"You're kidding me," Cora deadpanned.
"No, I'm not," Seven said while staring at the floor and shuffling his feet together.
"Ace, what are we supposed to do? The crazy lunatic has done it again."
"Can you catch me up, Cora. I just showed up here and I'm literally so confused," I stated before sitting down in a chair in the corner of the room.
"We got reports from some spies we sent out. Cloud is on his way here and I doubt it's for a charity event," She said tapping on the arm of the seat.
"Well, almost all of our troops are healed so that's good, but those who were severely injured will still take a day or two more to heal. I don't have a doubt in my mind that he knows our men are injured and despite his numbers of people that went down in the first battle, he still had thousands more than we did to begin with. We were beyond lucky to get out on an amount of deaths that we can count on our fingers," I stated before standing up and facing them. "There's something you two should know."
"What?" They asked.
I wasn't sure how either of them were going to respond to what I was going to say next. Fear wasn't normally the reaction of our kind when we are placed with the enemy, it's closer to hatred so they could be angry with me, no they probably will be angry with me, but since we have an immensely lower troop count than Cloud, desperate measures were taken.
"I'm making a pact with a man named Weston Price. I know that you two know who he is."
The look on Cora's face was complete shock which entailed that she was confused as to my reasoning on the matter, but she didn't seem opposed. It was the look on Seven's face that concerned me.
"Please tell me that you weren't ignorant enough to pull something like that without the consent of the people that follow you," He muttered and frustration was apparent in his tone.
"What was I supposed to do? Who am I supposed to rely on when the odds aren't in our favor? We can't win this without more help and what can humans do for us?" I said trying to be sensible, but I knew that to an extent Seven was right in that I should have consented the people supporting me.
"They are animals. Animals that do without thinking and cause tragedy because of a desire that they can't control."
"You think that our kind is any better? You think that we are any more efficient when it comes to maintaining control over what we want most?"
"No, but we aren't murderers!"
"We are capable of being murderers though!"
"So are they!"
"I know!"
"So why side with them? You could've gotten anyone else! You could've found more vampires!"
"We don't have the time to find more vampires and mortals aren't going to do anything! Running into him was luck and we obviously needed the help so I accepted! I want to protect the people I'm in charge of and I know almost no one is going to like this, but I'm doing what I have to do as a leader! I know it's ridiculous, but it's the only chance we have of winning this thing! What do you have against them anyway, Seven!? What right do you have to be so mad at this!?
"You have no idea what they're capable of and neither do I! You can't control them! They do what they want without taking any crap from anyone else and don't you dare say that I don't have a right to be mad! You don't know anything, Ace! You don't know what I've lost and you don't know what I go through every waking day of my life!"

Vampire"Stop!" Kara cried straddling over me and pinning my hands above my head where the gun was out of my reach. I quickly retaliated throwing her under me and cowering over her hearing her melodic pulse in harmony with mine, but I ignored it. "I want to...
