*KARA'S POV*
I pulled my goggles from the top of my head and put them on my face as I slowly poured the strange orange liquid in the minuscule flask during chemistry.
The beach had been fun, but all it had done was seriously consider everything between Ace and me.
"I'm not leaving you angel, you'll always have me,"
"Mine,"
"You're more than that,"
"I'm sorry, just give me some time to think, okay?"
I needed to stop nagging him.
I don't want things to be awkward between us because of the fact that I can't shut up even though he can't be reasonable.
Just drop it Kara.
Drop it.
"Kara, you dropped it!" Amity shrieked as pieces of glass shattered everywhere and the thick orange gunk made its way across the counter and onto my lab coat.
"Oh no," I muttered grabbing a large roll of paper towels and wiping up the liquid, with my gloves on.
Amity quickly took a rag to the counter and I swept up the glass surrounding the bits of orange slime left on the marble surface.
"Miss Harrison, perhaps I should inform you that your experiment goes in the flask and not all over my counter."
"Yes sir, I deeply apologize. It won't happen again sir," I exhaled.
"It best not."
After he walked over, Amity pulled off her gloves and took her hair out of the messy bun currently piled on top of her head.
"Someone's on his period. Should I cut off my hair?"
"Sure," I muttered dozing off into thought again.
"Seriously?"
"Yeah."
I hope things aren't awkward, I can just imagine the conversation.
"I think I'll dye it electric green and get a tattoo of your dad over my heart."
"That's nice."
"Kara, I can't talk to you anymore. I've already got enough on my plate with the war and my being a vampire and I just don't think I can deal with your petty concerns."
He wouldn't say the word petty though he'd say 'unnecessary troubles'.
"My mom told me I was adopted."
"Okay fine, I'm listening. What do you want?"
"For you to get your head out of la la land. Things aren't going to be as awkward as you think they are. He will get over it."
"How did you-"
"You always over think things and I could just tell by the look on your face it was about Ace. Plus you think about him all the time and don't argue with me because you know it's true."
I sighed and took off my gloves letting my hair down and fall around my shoulders running my hands through it.
"Yeah, I know."
"You okay?"
"No, I'm not. Have you ever liked somebody to the point where you do things irrational things that don't make sense?"
You mean like to lash out irrationally?"
"No, not lashing out, just doing things that don't make sense."

Vampire"Stop!" Kara cried straddling over me and pinning my hands above my head where the gun was out of my reach. I quickly retaliated throwing her under me and cowering over her hearing her melodic pulse in harmony with mine, but I ignored it. "I want to...
