England, that's where we had ended up, out of all of the places we could go for our Summer holidays we end up here. We were sat on the beach in Devon, ironic that this city had the same name as me. Vic loved England and that was the reason I had agreed on the holiday. But now thinking about it it wasn't a bad idea, it was colder than I ever remember it being especially down South by the sea which is where we were. However I couldn't really complain considering we could have ended up in my hometown of Portsmouth as that is where I had spent almost half of my life with the person I once thought I was going to marry. Jacky Vincent of Falling In Reverse. I turned to Vic as I dug my feet into the stony sand "Do you wanna go grab some food? There's a nice pub up there or we could go get fish and chips?" Another thing I did like about England was fish and chips, you could never quite match it over in the US. "How about we get fish and chips to take out and go eat them in the hotel room?" I smiled

"Sure, I mean it is a bit windy to eat them out here" I stood up and dusted the sand from my clothes before taking Vic's hand as we walked up to the pier.

The hotel was only a short walk from the beach, it was nothing fancy just a travel lodge. I went into the kitchen and grabbed some plates before taking them into the main room and sitting on the bed next to Vic."So what happens next?" I asked him as I piled some of the chips onto my plate

"We go back home in two days and I find out about the tour we have coming up" I sighed, Vic and the guys had just had the whole summer off to write a new album and record it and they'd done it and it was going to be released soon, they had then had a couple of weeks off in which we took off to England to spend some time together before they headed off on tour again for a few months around the US to promote it. Vic had been out of touch with his band for the past fortnight so he had no idea how long he would be home in San Diego for before they headed out. "Do you want to spend the next day or so here? Or would you like to head some place else for a day or so?" I asked Vic as he handed me the bottle of ketchup "We could head closer to Birmingham maybe, so we don't have to rush around to get to the airport on time on Wednesday?" I liked that idea, Birmingham was further up north and there was a lot more to do up there in my opinion. "Ok, tomorrow we'll get a train up to Birmingham and hang out there for a day or so" Vic nodded

"It's settled then, but what do you want to do tonight?" I grabbed a chip from his plate seeing as I had finished mine "Sorry that one looked really good" he shook his head at me

"So, tonight? What do you want to do?" I thought for a second

"You know, we've been out almost every night since being here, how about we go find a film from somewhere?" he chuckled

"It's 7pm, most stores are shut now, I have films on my laptop we could watch" I nodded

"Ok, how about we go over to that arcade we went to the other night and try and get more tokens, if we get enough we could get that turtle toy for Tony" Vic shook his head at me "What you know he'd love it!  Vic nodded

"Ok, I guess it's not such a bad idea" I smiled at him as I grabbed his empty plate to take into the kitchen "I'm going to go shower and get changed" I nodded at him and walked back into the kitchen to tidy up.

I heard my phone ringing from the other room as I finished putting the dishes away, I walked in and answered it "Hello?"

"Hi Deven it's Mum" I smiled I hadn't heard from my Mum in about a week

"Mum Hi, how are things in San Diego?"

"Yes everything's fine here, how about over in England? Are you enjoying your time back home" I chuckled "To be honest it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be, I'm actually really enjoying the time away with Vic"

"Look I was just phoning to ask whether you would be able to go over to Portsmouth tomorrow? If you can't it's fine but I really think you should go and visit your cousin" My cousin had recently been in a pretty serious car accident. She was never nice to me when we were kids though and we never had really gotten on very well "But Mum that's a good three hour drive from where we are!" my Mother sighed "It's quicker on the train and I promise I'll pay you back the train fare, just please. It's just to go and see how she is, just because we all live in the US now doesn't mean we can disown our family back home and since you're there I think it would be ridiculous if you didn't go over" I sighed as Vic walked out of the bathroom from his shower and sat down on the bed next to me. "Fine Mum, we will head there tomorrow, morning"

"Oh thank you so much Deven, I'll send you through her number, let her know you'll be heading over" I sighed

"It's no problem but you owe me big time" she laughed "I'll see you soon"

"See you sweetie, take care" I hung up and turned to Vic

"Change of plan, we have to head back to freaking Portsmouth tomorrow morning to see my cousin, you know the one that was in the car crash" Vic nodded

"It's fine, we can just head to Birmingham straight after" I smiled and leant on Vic's shoulder as he wrapped his arms around me "Are you ready to go?" I shook my head

"I'll go change, I'll be quick" I dashed over to my suitcase and pulled out some clean clothes before going into the bathroom to get changed quickly.

We were soon at the arcade on the pier playing on the whack a mole game we'd become pretty good at over the time we had spent there "Quick! Deven you're too slow!" Vic nudged me out of the way "Go play on something else" I shook my head at him

"No way, I'll watch you play this, I wrapped my arms around him as he sat on the stool in front of the game. "Do you have any money?" I nodded and went into my pocket pulling out some money and handing it to him. He placed it into the machine and picked up the hammer. He was definitely a lot quicker at it than me and I watched as the tickets poured out of the machine. I shook my head at his smug expression and watched as he kissed his biceps "See that's how it's done" I rolled my eyes and pulled the tickets from the machine "How many do we have?" Vic shrugged and pulled the one's he already had from his pocket and started to count them. "We have 123"

"The turtle is 200! We're close" Vic laughed at my determination

"Ok, what are you good at in here?" I scanned the room, looking for something I was decent at playing when my eyes spotted the guitar hero game, I walked over to it, Vic following "Oh come on Deven, there's no way you'd be any good at this" I smirked at him as I took some money from his hand "Watch" I placed the coins into the machine and selected the difficulty before choosing American Idiot by Green Day because I knew I could do this one. I smirked as I hit every note perfectly and I smiled proudly at the end of the song when the tickets started to pour out of the machine "Well I think we have enough tickets now don't you?" I questioned Vic as I waved them in his face, he snatched them from my grip and folded them up counting as he did "Yup we have 220 now" I smiled and took his hand as we walked over to the desk to hand them in and get the stuffed turtle for Tony. We grabbed the turtle and then headed back home and I sent my cousin a text as we walked back to the hotel letting her know we would be coming over tomorrow morning to see her and probably my Aunt and Uncle too.
