Turning Back..

Chapter 17

Kacie's POV--

I was rushing around mine and Mike's home trying to get all of my stuff together. I was heading to Vegas for the weekend so that Marie could spend some time with her father. It had been a month and Deven was still out there which was worrying me slightly since she'd promised Jaime she would be back by now and he was extremely worried about her. Vic had been non responsive for the past month. He wasn't talking to anyone apart from Mike. Jaime had tried to speak to him but all Vic has said to him was that he needed more time to process what had happened. I walked down the stairs with my case, I could hear my phone ringing from the kitchen worktop. I walked in and answered it "Hello?" 

"It's Jaime" I sighed

"Hey Hime what's up?" I asked him knowing what he was going to ask

"Erm I was wondering, could I tag along with you to Vegas?" I shook my head

"No Hime, look Deven's fine. She's probably just sleepy, I remember when I was pregnant. All I wanted to do was sleep" he groaned

"I'm so worried about her Kace" I smiled

"I know, look as soon as I get there I'll call you and try and get her to speak to you" he was silent for a second "Alright, thanks Kacie" the line went dead and I slipped my phone into my pocket as the front door opened "Kacie! you still here babe?" Mike called in 

"Yeah in here!" I shouted as I picked Marie up out of her highchair "Look I have to get going Mike" I stated as I approached him pulling my suitcase in one hand behind me and sitting Marie on my hip "Erm, I just got back from Vic's, he asked me to give you this to give to Deven" I took the large envelope from his hand "What is it?" Mike blinked a couple of times and let a sigh pass his lips. 

"They are divorce papers, Vic want's a divorce" I pouted

"That's so sad" Mike nodded "I'll make sure they get to her" I kissed Mike 

"Drive safe babe, bye Marie, behave yourself" he placed a kiss on her forehead and the four year old laughed before we left the house and I got into the car ready for the five hour drive. 

Deven's POV--

"Jacky! Jacky are you back?" I called out from the bathroom. Ronnie had gone grocery shopping and Jacky had been at the studio recording "Yeah" I unlocked the bathroom door and walked out.. I was almost five months pregnant and my bump was becoming quite noticeable "Are you ok?" I nodded 

"I'm fine, just really hungry but Ronnie still isn't back from grocery shopping yet" Jacky chuckled 

"Come on, I'll take you down to the diner" I smiled widely and walked over to the front door where I had left my shoes. Tiffany's diner was still standing which surprised me when the guys first took me there the other week. Ash was still working there and it was great to see an old face. When we arrived we sat in our usual booth "You know Kacie's over later right?" I nodded. I was eager to see my best friend and my niece. "It will be good to see her and Marie... She's going to force me home you know" Jacky nodded

"That's where you belong though Deven, San Diego is your home now" I sighed as Jacky placed a menu in front of me "Come on I thought you said you were hungry" I smiled at him and opened up the menu to decide what I wanted. Halfway through eating our food Jacky's phone started ringing, I watched him as he answered it and I knew it was Ronnie on the other side of the phone "Quick eat up" Jacky stated as he placed his phone back in his pocket "Kacie is here now" I smiled widely and quickly ate the rest of my fries before we both headed back home. 

After hugging Kacie for the longest time we went and sat on the couch and all of us just chilled out and caught up for almost all of the afternoon. Ronnie had offered to take Marie to the park so it was just me Kacie and Jacky, Jacky however was more interested in his guitar than the conversation and after a few minutes of playing Kacie turned to him "Hey Jacky, is it cool if you go play that in your room I have something important to tell Deven" he smiled

"Sure I'm sorry" I watched as he picked up his guitar and note paper and walked towards his bedroom which was once my room when I lived here. I looked to Kacie, she hadn't said anything about anyone other than Mike and how the two of them were doing so I was intrigued. She pulled her suitcase onto the couch and started routing through it's contents "Erm, Mike went over to Vic's this morning and he asked him to give you these so here" she handed me a large White envelope and I opened it up, only to discover it was divorce papers. "I'm sorry Deven" I shook my head 

"It's fine Kace" she sighed

"No Deven it's not fine I know how much you love Vic are you going to sign them? No you can't!" she shouted as I grabbed a pen from the coffee table "Kacie, it's over, me and Vic are over as much as I don't want it to end I.." I paused I wasn't quite sure where I was taking it "He, well he hates me now and I don't blame him, I'll move on Kacie it will be fine" I skimmed through the pages of words and signed my name where it was required... Vic had already signed them and I traced my fingers over his handwriting before placing them back into the envelope and handing them to Kacie. She pushed them back towards my chest "No, keep them you can give them back to him on Sunday, we will go over" I parted my lips

"Kacie I'm not coming back to San Diego with you" she laughed

"Yes you are Deven, you need to be at home with us, the guys are rarely here ok. You need watching over, you can stay with Hime, he's been so worried about you Deven. You haven't called him and he's been a mess, please Dev?" I sighed

"But, I'm fine out here I mean Jacky is looking after me really well and" she cut me off

"No. Deven. I won't take any of your crap you are coming home with me and you are going to face Vic and hand him those papers. You never know he might think twice about" I groaned

"No. Me and vic are done I can't live with him with what I've done to him" she moved closer to me and grabbed my face moving it so that I was looking directly at her "Dev. Even if you and Vic don't work out you need to work things out with Jaime. Ok?" I sighed "Look I know how hard this is going to be and I know how fucked up it all is but. You need to be with your friends and family ok. Have you even told your Mum you're pregnant?" I shook my head "Exactly, so tomorrow we are heading back to San Diego" I nodded feeling defeated. Kacie was right I couldn't just run away from the problems back home, I had to face them some time and the sooner the better right?
