Turning Back..

Chapter 32

Kacie's POV

When I woke up the next morning to check on Deven she was gone, Rowan was fast asleep still in his cot. I knew exactly where Deven had gone and a sudden panic washed over me. I ran downstairs as fast as I could and grabbed my phone calling Vic he answered groggily "She's gone, you need to get down to the hospital and find her now!" I informed him but for some reason he hadn't taken my advice and ended up here "What are you doing here!" I shouted at him as I answered the door "I came to get you" I sighed and pulled my shoes on grabbing Marie and Rowan and pulling them out of the door and into the car. "I just needed to tell you something" I turned to Vic 

"I'm still in love with Deven, I'll always love her" It wasn't a surprise everyone knew this "I never sent the divorce papers in so we're still married" my mind flicked to Carly

"and Carly?" I asked him and he sighed defeated 

"She was a distraction, I thought maybe if I convinced myself I loved her I eventually would but it didn't work, I even told Deven I loved Carly but that just hurt me more" I sighed as we pulled up at the hospital and Vic got out of the car. I watched him as he walked through the automatic doors but he came back out just as quickly as he had gone in, accompanied by Deven herself 

Deven's POV

It was done and I felt better, as cruel as it sounded I felt as though a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I walked out of the hospital only to bump straight into Vic just before the main doors "Vic?"

"Please tell me you backed out? Tell me you didn't go through with it" I swallowed 

"I'm sorry Vic" I said to him and I could see his eyes glaze over with tears "Vic?" I asked him as he stood motionless in front of me "Are you ok?" he took a deep breath in 

"Deven, I, I wanted you to keep that baby, I wanted to be a Dad" I looked into his eyes 

"And you will be a Dad, with the right person and that could even be Carly" he shook his head

"No, she's not the one, it's you, you're the one you've always been the one and I've never stopped loving you" my heart raced as I heard those words leave his mouth and I shook my head trying to let the feelings escape "I love you Deven, I really fucking love you ok" I bit down hard on my lip before I walked around him and out of the doors "Deven, wait!" he grabbed my arm and spun me around to face him "You have to believe me" 

"NO Vic! What about Carly your girlfriend the girl you told me you loved! and Jaime your band mate, he loves me and" I paused

"You don't love him Deven, we all know you don't.. Even he does" I knotted my eyebrows at him in confusion "What do you mean by that?" he sighed

"Just let's go back to Kacie's and we can talk ok?" I looked to the car pulled up in front of us and saw Kacie I looked back at Vic  "Ok" I headed over to my car and left Vic standing there. 

I pulled up outside of Kacie's house and went inside Vic was sat on his own in the living room and I sat next to him "What do you mean about Jaime knowing I don't love him?" I asked 

"I don't know how he knows but he does, he told me he would never bring it up in front of you because you're so blinded by Rowan" I nodded understanding "Call Jaime ok, he wanted to speak to you" I sighed and pulled my phone out, Vic left the room losing the door behind him as I dialed Jaime's number. Vic was right, I was in love with him still, every time he walked into the room or touched me I was in awe of it all "Hello?" I snapped out of my thoughts as Jaime's voice echoed in my mind "Deven, is that you?" 

"Yes it's me. I'm sorry"

"Thank god I've been trying to get through to you all of yesterday and today" 

"Jaime what is it?" he sighed

"I know you still love Vic, don't even try to deny it and I don't want you to be unhappy I would never be able to live with myself it you were unhappy" I sighed "I want you to know that you've given me the most amazing thing in the world, Rowan and I'm happy just by knowing he's my son. We were never meant to be, you've always been Vic's and he's always been yours and you're perfect together. I don't want to get between that" I shook my head

"But he cheats on me Jaime? We aren't perfect" I told him as I thought about Jenna

"Yes, but you cheated on him too and guess what you both got through it together and if anything it made you stronger" I nodded I could agree with what he was saying it had.

"Jaime I" 

"Just go, I'll come over to yours and Vic's as soon as we get back from tour to see Rowan" I smiled 

"Thank you so much Jaime, I'm so sorry" he hushed me

"Don't be sorry, it isn't your fault that you're hearts to muddled up" I chuckled 

"I'll see you soon ok? Now go tell Vic you love him and rip up those divorce papers which I happen to know are in his backseat" I chuckled again and said goodbye before going out to find Vic. I rushed over to him as he stood in the hallway looking nervous and I crashed my lips to his. It took a while for him to process what was happening before his lips parted and he deepened the kiss "I love you Vic, I really do love you" I told him and he smiled

"I love you to Deven Fuentes, so much"....
