Chapter 30

"Two months that's all I'll be gone for, it will fly by and you'll be fine" I nodded at Jaime as he put the last of his things in his suitcase, the last six months had been strange to say the least and Rowan was already half a year old. I picked him up and jaime placed a kiss in his hair "Now, you behave for your Mother ok? I'll be home soon" I followed him outside of the house to the bus where the other's were waiting. Vic was stood with his Girlfriend and I looked down at my hands as he stared at me. The past few months had been weird between me and Vic, I gave Jaime one last kiss and waved him off before going back inside.

So me and Vic. It all happened about Two months ago, Kacie's Birthday to be precise, she had invited me out. Jaime had gone over to Mike's that night with Rowan and they were looking after him and Marie. I still remember that night as if it was yesterday. We were sat at the bar chatting, we were already slightly tipsy, I'd been so busy with Rowan I hadn't had time for a social life. I remember the minute I looked up from my drink and saw Vic out of the corner of my eye, he was sat at the other end of the bar with his Girlfriend and some of the guys I recognized as being in the band Of Mice & Men. I turned back to Kacie "Hey, should we go to another-" but before I could even finish my sentence Vic had seen us and he was heading over with his arm wrapped tightly around his girlfriends waist. She was pretty, her dark curled hair cascading down past her left shoulder and settled on her chest the dress she was wearing clung tightly to her body and the heels she was wearing made her at least an inch or so taller than him. "Hi Kacie" he announced wrapping her into a hug, his girlfriend, who did have a name Carly waved at me and trotted over to take the seat beside me "Happy Birthday, you out celebrating?" Vic asked her I looked to Carly. Carly had no idea me and Vic were married at one point and I had to act like we never happened which was fine as far as I was concerned. Vic had gotten rid of every trace of me, we hadn't spoken since he came and got me from England, I had no idea if he'd handed the divorce papers in and considering he had moved on to Carly I presumed he had."Hey why don't you hang out with us tonight" Kacie said to both Vic and Carly "The Of Mice guys are welcome to too" I was expecting Vic to say no but he nodded "Of course, I need to buy you a birthday drink anyway" 

The night seemed to drag on and on and I needed to get drunk so that it would go faster I didn't care how bad I'd feel in the morning. When I did awake I was more than shocked to find Vic asleep naked next to me in mine and Jaime's bed. I shot up and looked down at my own naked self and felt my head pounding. I walked over to the chest of draws and pulled out some clothes and dressed myself, I really hoped Jaime wasn't back from Mike's yet. I checked the clock and it was 9am, he'd be home soon with Rowan I knew he would, Row was an early riser. I walked over to Vic and shook him awake and he groaned "Carly, it's early let me sleep"

"I'm not Carly" I spoke and Vic's eyes flew open at my English accent no doubt

"Deven? Oh shit" he grabbed his boxers from the floor 

"You need to get the fuck out of here now Vic! Jaime will be home soon" I told him and he shot up grabbing the rest of his clothes from the floor and pulling them on "I'll call you later and we will work this out ok?" I nodded at him as he walked out of my bedroom and down the hallway to the front door. When the door slammed shut I let out a groan. What had happened last night? How had me and Vic gone from not talking at the start of the night to obviously having sex with each other? Why wasn't he with Carly, we would have all gotten a taxi back together right? I shook my head as the front door opened. I stood up and placed a smile on my face as Jaime walked into the bedroom "Morning, didn't get too drunk did you?" Jaime asked me, Row was sat on his hip and I went over and stroked the top of his head ignoring the pain in my own head "No, of course not" I told him walking by Jaime and into the kitchen to grab some pain killers and a glass of water "Do you want some breakfast? Maybe some Bacon?" my mouth watered at the mention of Bacon

"Oh please" I replied and he sat Rowan in his highchair at the table. I sat at the table and watched Rowan as he played with the wooden blocks on his high chair whilst Jaime cooked breakfast. 

Jaime sat down next to me and handed me a plate "Thanks Hime" he smiled weakly at me 

"What was Vic doing here last night?" Jaime suddenly asked me out of the blue "I mean, I just bumped into him on my way in" I bit down on my lip

"Oh well him and Carly were out with us last night and they had a fall out so I said it would be fine for him to stay here, he slept on the couch" I lied

"That's cool, I was just curious" he lent in and kissed my cheek before going over to wash up the saucepan that was left in the sink. I let out the breath I was holding "Hey, I'm just going to head out and get some fresh air ok?" I told Jaime and he simply nodded 

"Sure, oh take Rowan with you, he kept me up most of the night at Mike's I need a rest" I smiled

"Ok, I won't be long" I picked Rowan up out of his seat and took him out to Jaime's car. I unlocked it and sat him in his car seat before getting in myself and heading for Vic's house. I hoped to god he remembered a lot of last night because I really wanted to know how it had happened. When I pulled up on the driveway of our old house I noticed another car pulled up on the drive next to Vic's I shook my head as I didn't recognize the car and got out grabbing Rowan. I knocked on the door and Vic appeared "Hey, we need to talk now Jaime saw you and" he shushed me 

"Hey Carly!" he shouted into the house "Erm Mike's here, we're just heading out, be back in a bit" 

"Ok babe" Vic quickly stepped outside and closed the door before rushing me back over to my car where I strapped Rowan back in and got into the drivers seat. "Are we just going for a drive or?" I asked him as I pulled out of his driveway "No, coffee, I need coffee" I agreed and headed for the nearest Starbucks. 

I placed Rowan on my knee as we sat in Starbucks, Vic took a sip of his coffee before placing it on the table in front of us "So?" I questioned him as Row started to fidget in my arms "Do you remember anything from last night? Did we?" he sighed picking up his coffee cup again 

"Yeah we did" I closed my eyes and let out a breath 

"Hime can't know about this ok?" Vic nodded

"Neither can Carly, I love her Deven" I swallowed 

"I know you do, she won't find out" I reassured him "Now how did it happen?" Vic shrugged

"I'm not sure, I just remember parts of it" I nodded understanding I couldn't remember anything at all. "Look, I promise Hime won't find out, it was just an accident, as far as I know it's only you and me who know" I nodded at him as I took another sip of my coffee.
