Turning Back..

Chapter 11

It was 3am and I was pulled up on the highway. I'd been driving for three hours and my car had finally ran out of gas. I hit the steering wheel with my fists repeatedly and screamed. Before going into the back seat and pulling my phone out of my bag. Everyone had been calling me and trying to contact me so I rang everyone but the only person who responded was Kacie "Deven where are you?" 

"I'm on the highway, I've ran out of gas, Kacie I don't know what to do!" 

"Hold on, I'm coming text me where abouts you are" I put the phone down and put my hazard lights on before texting Kacie where I was. 

She arrived an hour later and Jaime was with her "We bought gas" she said as she opened the door, I'm filling you up" I nodded my head and placed my head down on my steering wheel, Suddenly Jaime appeared next to me in the passenger seat and as soon as I looked at him I started sobbing again. He pulled me into his chest and I clung to him as I cried. The sun was starting to come up by the time I opened my eyes again. I must have fallen asleep, I looked up at Jaime who was also asleep and shook him awake. He opened his eyes and looked down at me "Damn what's the time?" I looked at the clock on the dashboard that was nearing 5am

"It's almost five" I sat up "Hime will you.." he nodded and got out of the car, I watched as he stretched and walked over to the drivers seat he opened the door and I scooted over to the passenger seat and laid my head on the window as Jaime started the car.

Jaime's POV--

I pulled up outside of my apartment, I was glad it was on the bottom floor because Deven was fast asleep and carrying her upstairs would have been a nightmare and the last thing I wanted to do was to wake her. I got out of her car and walked down to the passenger seat door and opened it, careful that she didn't fall out. I undid her seat belt and lifted her out closing the door with my bum. I walked up to the front door and walked inside before carefully sliding my keys out of my back pocket and unlocking my front door. I pushed it open and walked inside going straight to the spare room and pulling back the covers before lying her down on the bed. She must have been so tired to not have even stirred. I sat next to her on the bed and looked at her. How could Vic do this to her, she was going to be a mess tomorrow I just knew it. I yawned and decided to head to bed too as it was nearly 6:30 in the morning. 

Deven's POV--

I woke up and looked around the unfamiliar room I was in. I sat up and then everything that happened last night hit me like a ton of bricks. I laid back down and stared up at the ceiling. I stil couldn't believe Vic would do that to me again, he knew how much it had hurt me the last time. I opened the door and looked down the corridor, I still had no clue who's house I was in but my guess was that it was Jaime's as he was in the car with me last night. I walked down the corridor and into what I presumed was the living room but I couldn't hear anyone around. My phone was still in my pocket so I pulled it out and sat down on the couch to call Kacie to thank her for coming out so late last night to get me I placed the phone up to my ear and it rang a couple of times "Hey Deven how are you? Did you just wake up?" I nodded I wasn't even sure what time it was right now

"Yeah is it late I haven't checked the time?"

"It's 3pm" I nodded "Is everything ok at Jaime's?" I smiled glad she knew where I was

"Yeah I only just woke up and I'm not sure where Jaime is, have you, spoken to Vic?" I asked knowing that Mike would have "No, we're going over to his parents in about an hour for food..." I sighed knowing I was meant to be going over too. "Could you do something for me Kacie?" 

"Sure" 

"could you not tell anyone I'm at Jaime's, don't tell Vic and DON'T tell Mike. I want to lay low for a little while" Kacie sighed
