Turning Back..

Chapter 9

Jaime's POV--

Vic had been in the back room on the phone for quite a while and his voice would raise every now and again in frustration and we would hear it in the front room. There was no doubt that Deven would have told Vic that she had just been on the phone to me for the past three hours. "Jaime you alright?" Kacie asked me and I nodded quickly "Where were you earlier?" her and Mike were both staring at me waiting for an answer, Tony was more interested in the film which was on the TV. "Oh I was just on the phone with this errr chick" Mike raised an eyebrow 

"I didn't think you were seeing anyone right now?" I smiled

"I well I'm not-" All of our attention suddenly turned to the door in which Vic had just burst through, even Tony turned towards him "Everything alright Vic? Are you two friends again?" Kacie asked with a big smile on her face. He didn't respond he just looked at me "Turns out she's only really interested in speaking to Jaime" he announced, I looked away from him

"What do you mean?" Kacie asked 

"The whole reason I couldn't get through to Deven's phone was because Jaime was on the phone to her" I smiled at everyone as they stared at me

"Wait is that who called you when we were about to leave the venue?" Tony asked and I nodded

"so you were on the phone to Deven for the whole three hours" I nodded again 

"She was just asking me whether I was with Vic or not, look I should be telling this to Vic really not everyone else" I looked over at Vic and he started to make his way down to the back room. I took that as my que to follow. 

I closed the door of the back room and Vic was stood there with his arms folded tightly across his chest "Speak?" I sighed

"You need to start treating Deven better, she's a good fucking person and she doesn't deserve to be put second to Jenna!" I snapped folding my arms across my chest. Vic's eyes narrowed at me "Look I'm not here to argue with you, I don't want us to fall out but seriously Vic, Deven needs you, she just lost her job and if that's not enough she's probably wondering what on earth's happening with you and Jenna out here? I know you two haven't done anything bad... But Deven doesn't know that" Vic sat down on the couch, he didn't say anything and I knew something else was bugging him right now as he was pretty calm whereas I was expecting him to shout. Then it hit me "Wait, you and Jenna haven't you know have you?" Vic looked up his eyes were glazed over and I knew what the answer was before it even left his lips "It was an accident Hime I swear it just happened!" he stood up and rushed towards me "Don't you dare tell Deven, you hear me!" I bit down hard on my lip before anger started to build up "What the hell Vic! Why would you do that! When did this happen, was it tonight?" he simply nodded 

"We were just hanging at the bar with the rest of Tonight Alive but it was getting pretty boring so Jenna suggested we went back to her bus and play some video games and..." 

"And you slept with her, I get it Vic but do you realize how much this is going to hurt Deven?" he nodded again "I'm so mad at her and I don't know why I did it but..." he paused and shook his head "I just, I don't know" 

"Because you're selfish" I answered for him "Deven is amazing, she's always putting other people before herself the least you can do is respect her" I turned on my heels and went into the main room where the other's were all sat looking tense "What's going on?" Kacie asked me as I sat down next to her, Vic came in and sat on the floor next to Tony "Vic cheated on Deven again" I announced, I wasn't going to let Vic get away with this, he deserved the wrath of Deven's best friend. She looked pale "If it was Jenna I swear to god as soon as we get to New Mexico I am going to kill her" I nodded my head to say it was Jenna and Kacie's face grew tense before she stood up and walked by me and over to Vic before slapping him right around the face "You son of a bitch! You'd better fucking tell Deven right now!" I swallowed hard as we all stared at each other

"I-I'll tell her in the morning" 

"Yeah it's late" Tony piped in "Let's just leave all of this drama till tomorrow" he stood up and switched off the TV before heading over to the bunks, I followed and left Mike to calm Kacie down. 

Vic's POV--

I don't really know how it happened, I guess it happened like every other time we've slept together, we just drink and end up alone together and it just sort of happens. Right now I didn't regret it, not since I was so mad at Deven for spending all of her time with Jacky instead of her just flying out to see me. It was the next morning and I was lying in my bunk, we were in New Mexico and usually I'd be excited about being here but I wasn't at all. My fingers grazed over Deven's number, the regret had sunken in now and I hated myself for what I had let happen. I could have stopped but I chose not to. I couldn't do it, I couldn't brake her heart again. I threw my phone over to my feet and climbed out of bed ready to face the others who were all pretty mad at me. Mike was sat on the couch watching TV "Where's everyone else?" I asked as I went over to the fridge to grab a bottle of water "Jaime and Tony went out to grab food for us all and Kacie's in the shower" I sat down next to him and pulled at my lip "Did you really do it Vic?" he asked me and I lent foreword resting my arms on my knees "Yeah, I did" Mike looked away from me and back to the tele 

"Have you called Deven?" I bit on my bottom lip 

"Yeah, I er called her before I got up" I lied Mike turned to face me 

"Well what did she say? Are you guys together still?" I unscrewed the cap off of my bottle of water 

"She's er, yeah we're still together, she er slept with her ex anyway" I took a sip of the water and placed it back on the table as Kacie walked into the room, she narrowed her eyes at me "Kacie calm down he's told her" Mike announced as she clenched her fists

"Really?" I nodded 

"Yeah" Mike patted the seat in between the two of us "She slept with Jacky anyway" Kacie raised an eyebrow "Is that what she told you Vic?" I nodded "God you two are as bad as each other" I smiled slightly as the other's walked in with breakfast. "We've only got five days left on tour guys! and then we are back in SD for the final show!" Jaime announced as he threw a breakfast muffin at me, I caught it and smiled at him and he smiled back. The last thing I wanted was for me and Hime to fall out over Deven. After all he was only looking out for her and I knew I was the one in the wrong.
