Turning Back..

Chapter 8

Vic's POV--

I charged through the corridors, I was late for the meet and greet and our manager was probably going to be super mad at me. I slipped my phone into my back pocket and took a deep breath to dissipate the anger that was currently burning through my veins before I placed a smile on my face and pushed open the door to the room we were doing the meet and greet in. I looked at the guys who were sat at the table, they all narrowed their eyes at me as I walked over and sat down in the first seat. My manager came over and looked at his watch "you're 20 minutes late, where have you been?"

"My wife just lost her job and I was on the phone to her, I'm sorry it won't happen again" he sighed but nodded in understanding as he walked over to grab the VIP fans. 

After signing things for fans and having photos taken for a good hour and a half Mike suggested we all go get some lunch in the city we were in which was Denver. We grabbed our stuff from the bus and headed out, I was walking in between Kacie and Jaime the two people I really didn't want to be in between. Jaime because he didn't tell me Deven had lost her job and Kacie because well she was still really annoyed that I'd been hanging around with Jenna again. "I can't believe Deven lost her job, I should call her" I watched her pull her phone from her pocket and click around on it before pressing it against her ear "Yeah and I can't believe Jaime didn't think to tell me!" Kacie shook her head at me and I listened to her as she started to speak to Deven "Deven I can't believe it, you were getting on so well at that place, is Marie there? Can I speak with her? I miss her" I looked to my Left side where Jaime was walking "So why didn't you tell me about Deven losing her job?" he turned to me "She didn't want me to tell you, I'm guessing she just wanted to let you know herself" I sighed "Is everything ok with you two?" Jaime asked

"Yeah Hime, everything's fine" I lied smiling at him as we walked through the doors of McDonalds. I turned to Kacie who told me to go inside and she would catch up after she'd finished her phone call. I sat down next to Mike "You not grabbing any food?" I shook my head at him, I wasn't that hungry right now. My gaze drifted to Jaime who had just sat down opposite me with his tray of food, he handed Mike his food and then looked at me "Everything ok Vic?" I nodded at him "Are you going to be coming with us after the show?" I shook my head as Tony came and sat down with us 

"I'm hanging with Jenna" I answered, Jaime shook his head and blew his cheeks out and there was an awkward silence around the table until Kacie trotted over and snuggled into the booth next to Mike "Hey who were you on the phone to?" Mike asked her 

"Oh I was just checking up on Deven and I spoke to Marie" 

"Are they both ok?" Mike asked her and she momentarily flicked her eyes away from Mike to look at me "Yeah their both fine, their at the park" I rolled my eyes before going over to the queue to get some fries. I was next in queue when Kacie appeared next to me "We need to talk Vic" I walked up to the till "Hey can I get a large fries please?" I rummaged in my back pocket for some change 

"Will that be everything sir" I went to say yes but Kacie butted in 

"Yeah could I get a Chocolate Milkshake as well" the cashier nodded and I looked at Kacie as she handed over the cash before grabbing the milkshake and the fries from the counter and turning to me "Outside" I rolled my eyes and followed her out of the building to a bench. I sat next to her and she handed me my fries after she'd pinched one "What is it Kacie?" I asked her nicely

"What's going on between you and Deven?" I looked down at my fries 

"You know Jacky's staying with her right?" she nodded and raised an eyebrow at me "I don't want him there" Kacie sighed

"Vic, Deven's too nice to say no to people, she's just helping him out, as soon as Ronnie get's home from tour he'll go back to Vegas" I nodded "Vic, Deven loves you so much. You are the best thing that's ever happened to her and she would never do anything to risk losing you. Now stop acting like a grumpy old man and give me a hug" she wrapped her arms around me and I hugged her back lightly. "Thanks Kacie" she smiled as she stood up and walked back into the restaurant. I pulled my phone out to text Deven and apologize about my earlier outburst.
