Turning Back..

Chapter 27

Jaime's POV--

I pulled the car up into my parking space and got out of the car, Kacie following behind, there was no sign of Jacky's car out front "Maybe we just missed them" I stated as we walked through the door and to my front door.. There was a note stuck to it I read it

Jaime, You won't see me for a while, I don't know if I'll be back either. I'm sorry Keys are in usual spot, Deven x

I pulled the note off of the door and handed it to Kacie who handed me Rowan "Oh no" she paled "Do you think Jacky took her somewhere?" she asked me and I shrugged as I slumped back to the car I got into the drivers seat and smacked my hand down on the steering wheel "What the hell did I do to make her run?" I said gritting my teeth together. I felt Kacie lay a hand on my shoulder

"It's probably nothing to do with you, she runs when she's afraid of something. But where she's going I don't know. Let's just head back to mine and we will sort it out together" I sighed and placed the key in the ignition and pulled out of the car park to head back to Kacie's. I was angry, what had I done wrong? I'd been there for her since day one, why would she abandon me like this? Where even was she and was she with Jacky? the thoughts ran riot in my head the whole way back to Kacie's 

Everyone was still sat in the living room when we got in and Kacie broke the news "She's done a runner, we think Jacky's taken her somewhere" Ronnie rose from the chair

"What? He had better answer his god damn phone!" he charged out of the room clutching his phone, Mike started to laugh "So why didn't she take her son with her?" I didn't particularly like Mike these days. He was so bitter towards Deven and I know it hurt her. Vic had accepted it so why couldn't he "We think Row might be the reason she left, she didn't want this and Mike you need to just drop it" Kacie's voice was raised and Mike rolled his eyes at her. Vic nudged him with his elbow "She's right bro, just let it go already" I smiled at Vic thankful that he had finally said something, he shook his head and exited the room as Ronnie came back in "His phone is off still, I don't think they would have gone to Vegas" 

"Neither do I" Kacie announced as she bit down on her lip "If she wanted to get away somewhere that no one would go it wouldn't be Vegas, that would be the last place she would think of" I rubbed the side of my face "Where would she go?" I asked maybe I didn't know Deven as well as I thought I did. She was a mystery, I wondered if anyone could work her out. "England" Kacie stated "It's the only other home she knows" Ronnie nodded agreeing with her "Look you and Ryan can stay here for as long as you want don't worry about getting home, plus Marie would love her Dad to be around longer than a couple of days" Ronnie nodded

"Thanks Kace it means a lot, I'll try and contact him, if they are off to England then they aren't going to pick up for a while" 

"I guess it's just you and me then" I said to Rowan as I walked out of the room, I was expecting to find Vic out there and I was going to ask him about the situation. If anyone knew Deven the best it was him but he was gone, his car was gone too. 

Vic's POV--

I drove to the airport, Deven's email was still logged on on my laptop and there was a confirmation email she had booked two flight tickets to Birmingham, England. She couldn't do this to me and she certainly couldn't do this to Jaime and her son. I wouldn't give her the chance to get on that plane. The departure time was 2pm it was now 2:05, but I'd called the airline and there was a 30 minute delay. My eyes were flicking from the road to the clock. I pulled up at the airport and literally ran inside trying to find her, after searching for a few minutes I headed to the check in desk "Did the 2pm flight to Birmingham leave yet?" I demanded she smiled at me

"I'm afraid it left about five minutes ago" I closed my eyes and thanked her before walking out of the airport and to my car. I slammed my fist on the roof of the car. I could hear my phone ringing on the passenger seat so I got in the car and answered it "Hello" 

"Hey Bro where are you?" I sighed as I heard Mike's voice

"I just needed some space" I told him 

"Is this about Deven fleeing?" I groaned

"No it has nothing to do with her, I don't love her anymore" I lied to him

"Alright dude, look I'm here if you want to talk" I sighed

"Yeah I know" I put the phone down and gripped the steering wheel before driving back to Kacie and Mikes. I never sorted mine and Deven's divorce papers out. They were still sat in the back seat of my car signed, I wouldn't hand them in I couldn't I loved her too much and I was going to go find her and make her mine again. As soon as I got into Kacie and Mike's I headed up to my room where I found my laptop, I opened it up and booked a flight out to England for tomorrow morning as it was the earliest one.
