Turning Back..

Chapter 26

The next morning when I woke up I wasn't next to Jacky, I was next to Kacie and I could hear Rowan crying. I sat up and shoved Kacie who groaned "Go away! I'm not getting up today" I sighed

"What time did you guys get in?" I asked her and she shrugged

"Probably about 4, just leave me in peace" I got out of bed and walked down the hallway, I noticed that the crying had stopped and when I walked into Marie's bedroom, Jaime was stood there with Rowan in his arms. I smiled but then suddenly felt my gut twist, I'd cheated on Jaime last night. I walked over to him and he wrapped his arm around my waist "Hey" I placed a kiss on his cheek.... I needed to find Jacky, I hoped he was still here because I needed to ask him a massive favour. "Ronnie made breakfast by the way, you should head down there before it's all gone" I let out a silent sigh, if Ronnie was still here so was Jacky. I smiled at Jaime and headed downstairs where sure enough Jacky, Ronnie and Vic were sat at the kitchen table "Oh you're awake, I made breakfast, help yourself" there was a big plate of eggs and bacon on the table and I grabbed a plate from the cupboard before sitting next to Jacky which was inconveniently opposite Vic, I grabbed some food and then lent into Jacky's ear "I need to talk to you about something" he nodded, not looking at me and I went back to eating. Vic was looking at me when I faced foreword in my seat and I shifted uncomfortably before trying not to look up at his gaze. 

Once I'd finished eating I went into the living room which was thankfully empty. Jacky soon joined me "Is this about last night?" he asked as he sat down next to me on the couch

"Kind of, I want to go back to England" I said plainly, there was no point making a fuss about it "I feel like I need a break from all the drama here" I lied "I'd like you to come with me" I told him 

"I guess it would be good to get away, your parents still have their house there right? We could stay there" I nodded "I think I need to get away too with all of the stress with mine and Charlotte's divorce" I rubbed his shoulder reassuringly and pulled my phone out to book us a couple of flights before he had the chance to change his mind. 

Jacky's POV--

When I woke up this morning I had missed calls from Charlotte and messages asking me to go over to hers and collect the divorce papers for me to sign. I wasn't over Charlotte, I wanted her back more than anything, trying to get over her wasn't working out. I thought maybe sleeping with Deven would help but it didn't. Deven was an ex and she always would be.. Her life had gotten way to complicated with a child and everything, yes I still had feeling for her but they weren't the same as they were. I couldn't help but think she was trying to get me back. She had been dropping all of these hints.. I needed a break away from everyone who knew what was going on and I don't think what Deven was asking could come at a more convenient time. I watched her as she booked us flights. I hadn't been home to Portsmouth for so long so this trip could help me reconnect with my family over there and my roots. Deven put the phone down and bit her lip as she looked up at me "I hope leaving in the next hour isn't too much of a problem?" I shot up from the sofa 

"We will drive to yours and Jaime's and grab your stuff, then we can head straight to the airport" I stood up and left the room, Deven following but heading upstairs, probably to grab her son. 

Deven's POV--

I walked up the stairs and into Marie's bedroom, she was sat on her bed reading a book to Jaime who was sat at the end of the bed listening to her intently. Rowan was fast asleep in the cot, I walked over and looked down at him "Deven, everything ok?" Jaime asked me from his position on the bed. I turned to him "Erm, is it ok if I quickly nip home to get some stuff for Row?" he nodded

"Sure I'll drive you" I shook my head

"No, no it's fine Jacky said he would drive me" I smiled at him reassuringly and he grabbed his house key from his back pocket and came over to me, he placed the key in my hand and I gripped it as Jaime wrapped his arms around me, I slowly wrapped my arms around his waist "I love you"

"Mhmm" was all I could reply "I'll-I'll be back as soon as I can" he smiled down at me as he pulled out of the hug "There's no rush" I bit my lip and exited the room to go and meet Jacky in his car. I ran out of the house and got into the car fastening my seat belt as we drove back to Jaime's "Where's Rowan?" Jacky asked me as we drove down the highway 

"He's not coming with us Jacky" he turned to me "When I said I needed a break I meant from everything and everyone" Jacky turned back to the road

"He's only been in your life for a week, he needs to be with his Mum Deven" I sighed

"Jaime's a good father and my parents are there it will be fine" Jacky groaned

"Do you have post natal depression?" Jacky asked me and I shook my head

"No" although I wasn't that sure.... I didn't think I had that. 

We pulled up outside Jaime's apartment "I won't be long, I just need to grab my case"

"You already packed?" Jacky asked

"I never unpacked from leaving Vic's" Jacky raised an eyebrow as I shut the passenger side door and headed up to the front porch. I unlocked his door and walked straight into our bedroom grabbing my suitcase and throwing the few things I had taken out into my handbag. I walked out into the hallway and across to the kitchen where I grabbed a note paper. I wasn't going to be too cruel, I'd leave a note telling Jaime I was going away but not where it was that I was going. I took the note outside and stuck it too the front door before heading back to the car.

Kacie's POV--

I groaned and rolled over, I'd drank way too much last night but it was so much fun. I got up and walked to Marie's bedroom to check she was ok but she wasn't there. I made her messy bed and checked on Rowan who was fast asleep in the cot before I headed downstairs where I found everyone in the living room, I lent on the door frame and looked at Marie, she was sat next to Jaime on the couch and she was showing him her toy and he looked so excited for her. He was going to be such a great Dad and I just wish him and Deven would get together. I walked in and sat on the other side of Marie "And she's awake!" Mike announced and I smiled at him before turning to Jaime "You're going to be a great Dad Jaime" he looked up at me from Marie 

"Thanks Kacie" 

"Where's Deven now?" I asked him 

"Oh, she went back home a couple of hours ago, she did say she was coming straight back but knowing her and how tired she is she's probably gone to bed" I nodded 

"Someone drove her there right? She didn't go on her own did she?" I asked Jaime

"Oh, she said Jacky was taking her" Ronnie sighed

"Well they had both better be back soon, we need to get going" I pouted 

"Going so soon?" Ronnie nodded at me 

"We can't stay forever, me and Ryan came in Jacky's car. I'll call him quickly" Ronnie exited the room "You know you and Deven should just get together officially" I told Jaime as I lifted Marie onto my lap. He looked up and over at Vic who was sat on the other couch with Mike "About that" a grin appeared on his face "You guys are together?" I asked him and he simply nodded, still with that huge signature grin on his face. "Look after her Hime won't you. Keep an eye on her too" Vic piped up everyone in the room turned to him. I could tell he wasn't happy about the news. He still loved Deven with everything he was and I knew he hadn't been coping as well as he was showing. He lived with us, it wasn't like he could hide it forever. "Jacky won't pick up. His phones off" Ronnie announced angrily as he walked into the room sitting back down next to Ryan "I should get off anyway so I'll find out where they've gotten too" Jaime said as he stood up "I'll just fetch Row down" 

"I'll come with you" I told him as I got up off the couch and headed into the hallway to grab Rowan's car seat and changing bag.
