Turning Back..

Chapter 28

Vic's POV--

I was on the flight, no one had seen me leave this morning and I was glad, I could do without the questions. My phone was off and it would remain off for as long as posible, I'd called Deven's parents last night and they had said that Deven and Jacky had popped round yesterday to get the keys for their house in Portsmouth which confirmed where they were going. When the plane landed and I'd gotten through passport control I got a taxi to the nearest train station, there was no way I was going to call Deven and tell her I was here she would be really mad at me for doing this. When I got to the train station it was late and there were no trains running which was extremeley annoying so I settled with getting a hotel room for the night and then setting off to Portsmouth in the morning. 

Deven's POV--

I was snuggled up next to Jacky in my old house, in my old bed and I felt 17 again. We had been here for two full days now and I was really happy and Jacky seemed it too. Jacky woke up and turned to face me "Hey"

"Hi" I greeted him placing a kiss on his lips "So what do you want to do today?" I asked him as he stretched and sighed "When are we heading home?" he asked me and I smiled

"This is our home" I told him and his smile turned into a frown 

"Erm no, this is a break away from home..." I bit my lip "We need to head back soon" I shook my head "No Jacky, I" he placed his finger on my lips

"Deven, I know what's going on, you want me back" I sighed and looked down at my stomach "This isn't right, I'm still married and I want Charlotte back, me and you were done a long, long time ago, I've moved on and so have you" I shook my head as he got out of bed and pulled his clothes on "We're going to the airport, you didn't get return flights did you?" I shook my head at him again

"Jacky please, I know you feel it too" I got out of bed and followed him to the door "We have so much history and" he turned to me and grabbed my wrists to stop me touching him

"Deven, you need to be back in San Diego with your Son and Jaime. He's good to you, so was Vic but you just keep throwing everything away, why?" he asked me

"Because I'm confused and I just wanted to start again" He shook his head

"We don't have anything here anymore Dev, look around you" he stared at me "Please Deven just look around you" I turned my head to the side and looked at my old bedroom, it was bare apart from the bed and the small bedside table and lamp "Deven, we were never meant to be, we were just childhood sweethearts, it was fun and it was real but what Jaime has for you now is more real than anything I could give you, I'm still in love with Charlotte, she's the one to me and you need to open your eyes and see that Jaime is the one for you" As much as I didn't want to admit it Jacky was right and it wasn't like I didn't have any feelings for Jaime because I did. "You are right Jacky I'm sorry I made you come out here" I walked out of the room and to the bathroom to get ready to head to the airport. 

When I turned the hairdryer off I heard talking from somewhere in the house at first I thought Jacky had finally turned his phone back on but the I realised there were two voices. I finished my hair and walked out of the bathroom and crept downstairs only to see Vic stood in the kitchen. I widened my eyes, what the hell was he doing here, I opened my mouth to speak but Vic spoke first "Deven?" I swallowed "Vic? What are you doing here?" he sighed

"I came to bring you home" I felt anger bubble up inside me. How did he know I was even here 

"How did you know where I was? Jacky did you tell him!" Jacky shook his head

"I spoke to your parents, I also saw the ticket confirmation email on my laptop and I did try and get to the airport before your flight but I didn't make it" I rolled my eyes
