Turning Back..

Chapter 12

Deven's POV--

"I'm back!" I heard Jaime shout through the apartment from the front door "Come help me bring all of this stuff in" I jumped up from my position on the couch and ran outside to see the Christmas tree Jaime had just bought "Jaime! It's huge, are you sure it's even going to fit through the door?" he shrugged as I walked over and helped him pull it from the back of the car and up to the door "You go inside and I'll push it through" I shrugged and started to pull it into the apartment, surprisingly it didn't require much effort. "Do we have decorations?" I asked as Jaime tried to find the right spot for the tree he nodded "Yeah I got some, there's a couple of bags in the backseat of my car go get them" I went and grabbed the bags from the car and brought them into the living room and started to open the boxes and we both decorated the tree with baubles and tinsel and lights "Now it's starting to feel like Christmas!" I announced as Jaime placed the star on the top of the tree. I'd been at Jaime's for a week now and Vic had stopped by once as he was looking for me, I had hidden in the bath behind the bath curtain, I didn't like that I was getting Jaime to lie to his best friend about me being here but I think he pulled it off pretty well, by saying I was staying in England with my parents over Christmas. "What do you usually do on Christmas Eve?" I asked Jaime 

"Well, you know what happens on Christmas Eve? We all usually go out don't we" I looked back at the tree "But don't worry I pulled out this year" I shook my head furiously at Jaime 

"No, no that's a bad idea, you need to go, otherwise it will look suspicious!" I announced 

"I don't want to have to leave you tonight though, not on your own that's not how you want to see Christmas in do you?"I sighed

"I'll be fine Hime, just go out and enjoy yourself, if you really don't want me to be on my own come home a little earlier, say you're tired or something?" I grabbed Jaime's phone and quickly texted Tony off of it saying he would be there "Dev!" 

"Too late Hime now go get ready!" I shooed him away and I watched as he walked into his bedroom to get changed. I went over to Jaime's DVD shelf and looked through for some Christmas films, funnily enough he had one and it was Elf which didn't really surprise me. I pulled it off of the shelf and placed it into the DVD player. Jaime emerged from his room "Aw Hime you look good" I announced "Look are you sure you are going to be alright here on your own?" I nodded

"I'll be fine, I promise you" he came over and gave me a hug. 

"I promise I'll be back before midnight" I shook my head at him and watched him as he left. I pressed play on the remote control and proceeded to watch Elf. Now I was alone my thoughts were whirling and I couldn't concentrate on the film. I was still in love with Vic and I was missing him so badly, but I just couldn't bring myself to forgive him this time. He'd over stepped the line. By the time I finally started to concentrate on the film it was finished and I groaned as I went over to the shelf to pick another, I saw Toy Story three.. I hadn't seen it yet so I put that on and watched it, still thinking about Vic and what he had done and eventually making myself cry. 

I didn't even hear Jaime come in "I'm sorry I'm so late, the guys were keeping me and Kacie kept asking about you... Not in front of the other's though don't worry" He looked at me and then at the screen "Oh this part always gets me too" I turned my face to look at him "Oh, you aren't crying at the film" I shook my head and he came over and sat next to me on the couch pulling me into a hug. He gave me the shortest hug and then got up and went over to the side of the sofa "So, I found this earlier" he placed whatever it was behind his back and came over to me again before pulling it up over our heads "Mistletoe!" it brought a smile to my face and I giggled before placing a peck on Jaime's lips, he stared at me and my heart started to race faster, I lent in again and connected our lips properly this time and Jaime dropped the mistletoe in between us. Things seemed to heat up pretty quickly and we were pretty much naked on the living room floor, Jaime was hovering over me with a questioning look on his face and I nodded, it all happened so quickly but as he pushed into me there wasn't lust in his eyes at all... It was love and that scared the hell out of me. 

-- next morning--

I woke up next to Jaime on the living room floor, we'd made a bed out of the couch pillows and our duvet covers and fell asleep here. Jaime was already awake and he had a huge grin on his face "IT'S CHRISTMAS DEVEN!" I smiled at him

"I know!" I grabbed my clothes from next to me and pulled them on before heading over to the bathroom. I felt terrible... What if Vic found out i'd slept with his bass player? It's not like I was with Vic right now, but I was still married to him and I don't know I just felt really, really bad about what had happened only 9 hours ago. I stayed in the bathroom cleaning my teeth for another few minutes before going back to the living room where Jaime was sat on the floor with his legs crossed and a present in his hands "Here I got you a present" I smiled at him 

"Oh Jaime, you didn't have to, I kind of didn't get you anything" I pouted at him as I sat down opposite him crossing my legs "Open it" I took it from his hand and unwrapped it revealing a box, I opened it and found this amazing necklace. It was a little silver heart with an arrow going through it "Jaime, this is beautiful!" I wrapped him into a hug and he took the necklace from the box

"Here, let me put it on you" I turned away from him and lifted my hair away from my neck and Jaime placed the necklace on, I looked down at it and smiled before turning back to him "Why did you get me this?" I asked him but I already kind of knew the answer... He was still in love with me, even though I knew he'd tried to get over me. He looked down and then looked up smiling at me "Because you deserve it" I looked back down at the necklace wondering what to say. Should I just ask him if he was in love with me or would that just unearth it all and make everything harder. "Well, thanks Jaime I really like it. I'm sorry I didn't get you anything but, I'll make it up!" he shook his head at me "N-no, no it's fine" I looked at him for a second, unsure of what I was meant to do or say especially with last night looming over us like a big Black rain cloud. I could tell it was looming over Jaime too, I had to say something. I took a deep breath "Jaime, a-about last night?" he flicked his eyes down to his hands which were in his lap "I, well, I'm still married to Vic and I can't have him finding out about this" he looked up at me and blinked a little

"I-well, of course I understand that" I nodded and smiled at him 

"Anyway!" I announced making Jaime look back up at me "We should start preparing dinner right?" he nodded as I stood up and I put my hand out for him to take and we headed into the kitchen.
